Hey Pinco -- Love the new update and changes.. glad to see the hover while in grid view issue that was reported a couple days back was fixed (that was driving me insane)!

I'm not sure if this has something to do with the current update/changes, but I wiped my settings to rebuild from scratch (sometimes seems to make things run a lot more smoothly), and now I have a UI element that won't retain its settings. Unlock it, fix it, re-lock it.. but after re-logging in, it always reverts. Any ideas?

try now, I've checked trained, untrained and in training pets and seems to work....


just export the settings and import them in the characeter you need it, the export takes also the finders keepers data :)


The chat is not something easy to manipulate, so I'll remember that when I get to the chat rework :p
But I don't want to have all the settings, only the finders keepers, each of my characters pretty much have their own "style".

I've added a button in the finders keepers section that allows you to import only the finders keepers items list from the exported settings. So now you can simply export the settings and then go to the other character and import the finders keepers items list :)

Since lately there has been a serious funding problem that can lead the project to die, I've designed a new rewards system for everyone who make a donation and help the project to stay alive.

In the past, the only reward for the people who donate, was the name in the credits if you donate 100$ or more. Now I've added new cosmetic perks for any donation of 20$ or above:



In detail:

- All the rewards are visible for every player using Pinco's UI

- The rewards are retro-active (so all the money you donated since the project started will count!). All the people who donated in the past will be contacted to get their rewards.

- In order to get your reward, I'll contact you through email (the same you use for the donation), and I'll ask all the details I need to activate your reward, then the next UI patch (usually within 24-48h), will contain your reward!

- The wreath will be visible when someone gets your target and in your status portrait (if the notoriety aura is disabled).

- The wreath color will be upgraded automatically with any future donation.

- The portrait and engrave can be changed (or switched to another character) with a donation of 5$ or greater.

- The portraits size must be of 64x64 px (remember also that the portraits are round).

- The engraving text and the portraits CANNOT be of inappropriate nature (so no sexual, political themed or anything related to alchool or drugs or anything that can be offensive or politically incorrect). You can however use the engrave or the portrait to advertize your IN GAME shop.

I've added a button in the finders keepers section that allows you to import only the finders keepers items list from the exported settings. So now you can simply export the settings and then go to the other character and import the finders keepers items list :)
Oh wow, this is great!! Heading out to try it now, hope it's like the profile manager where you can do it from one account to another

You know how the skill timer counts down and the icon turns red with a countdown timer? When you mouseover the icon during the countdown, some random skill appears. For instance, the icon for "Peacemaking" shows "Bushido," the icon for "Discordance" shows "Detect Hidden," the icon for "Provocation" shows "Forensics".

Not a gamechanger by any means, but I thought you'd want to know.

@Pinco was just doing leveling on my pet and went to add the points to different stats and am now getting a popup asking me if I'm sure I want to proceed. I'm getting it for every thing I'm changing. Is this by design or a bug? It's kind of annoying to keep clicking OK on every single change...

that is sent from server side, I've just changed it in EC style so you can press enter/escape otherwise you'll have to click and sometimes the buttons in the gump don't work either :D

Crystal and Dungeon Teleporters are not working, menu works but click ok and go nowhere. Eodon moonstone works as does Ilsh jawbone.

The Gardening Window can not be scaled up for better visibility anymore. This happens for us since the last 2 Patches.
Same problem with the defaultUI, so i'm not sure if this is PincosUI related.

use the errors log viewer from EC Playsound, that error is VERY old since that function is no longer used in the script :D

If the healthbar don't update after opening the dockspot settings and closing it or by going out of screen and back it means the client is no longer receiving updates for that mobile. I'm still unsure about the cause of that, the only thing I know is that sometimes you have to restart the client or everything will start to break down pieace by piece....

I'll check the gump scaling cause :)

I've got some reports about the healthbars not updating that is happening on default too, so it seems to be something rotten inside the client and not an UI problem :/

Oh and the scaling on the gumps is fixed now :)

Went to Travesty and Paroxysmus with guild today, was a mess. I know Travesty must be hard to control her many healthbars.

there isn't much to say about that, nowdays is just about the domain, db, and sometimes the UO account when there is something that requires the paid features. Plus sometimes there are unexpected expenses (like art and something like that).
In any case with the few bucks here and there is not like I can run away and gamble all at the casino :D

No but seriously the bigger investment is always on my part since I spend sooooo many hours on the UI while I don't even play the game... just for the healthbars I spent entire nights working on it (and I'm speaking about 10-14 hours every day). If you count that the minimum cost per hour for someone to write code is around 30$ per hour, you realize that we're speaking about thousands of dollars of work given for free + all the trolling and mocking that comes with it (as you know there is a lot of haters around). So in the end if it was profitable enough to get rich I wouldn't be here begging for some scraps to keep the project alive anyway :D

On my paladin, I honored a creature (Miasma) before attacking. When I did, the creature's healthbar disappeared.

Here' my full error log this morning:

that happens because the honored target gets pinned automatically :D
Basically the honored target healthbar can exist only in the pinned category...

The only bug is that you shouldn't be able to "unpin" the bar unless it's no longer the honored target or is disabled...

Well when we do guild hunts, we do it time after time after time so the odds of having a problem are increased. If it's a "party entry" boss then this means breaking the party every time and we usually do several instances of each boss, like we did Travesty I think 8 times in a row. Then we did the same at Paroxysmus but that was not so bad because it doesn't require party to get inside.

The mess mostly had to do with Travesty's bar since she bounces from imitating every character that hits her and me being new to this system so I didn't know exactly how to handle it. I thought I had it whipped using my target macro instead of trying to click the fickle bar from Travesty until one of our folks brought a Rising Colossus, then I couldn't target Travesty at all without hitting the Colossus and that is embarassing and also by that time her life bar was completely gone.
I finally wound up switching to CC and had no trouble targeting with that system. Those errors are all the errors I had in the two endeavors so if they don't explain the problem, I dunno what to say.

Thank you for all you do and please don't think I/we all think like the one poster, what you do is incredible for the little donations you get and I appreciate it greatly. I will be sending more donations soon I hope, my financial situation now prohibits it but it'll get better. Your reaction to folks problems posting on here is unheard of in normal UO and you almost always fix our problems and very quickly. That is beyond thanks from me and such a bright spot in the otherwise problem UO plagued world. Your reactions are so far from game devs non-action that it's not even comparable. They seem to only listen to some idiotic ranting players who seem in spite of themselves get their wishes done. With you we don't have to do that, we merely tell you our problems and you react quickly and efficiently and that is muchly appreciated.

so the boss bar was flickering around? have you tried the target boss action or simply to pin the healthbar?

Ok, let me explain, not all of it is your system, most of it probably is my understanding/misunderstanding the new things. As I get up in years I find myself slowing down trying to learn new things, I don't like it, I fight it, but it's evidently a fact and that makes me more determined to make it work. It takes me a while to get this old head around the new stuff but I WILL get it done.

I honestly didn't even look much at the boss bar, I don't even understand what it does other than show health. I thought you told me you couldn't target from it so I figured it was simply a cosmetic. The bar from Travesty changes probably every few seconds from being hit and at times I couldn't double click it and shoot an arrow. Then it got to the place where it did not even accept a double click to target so I was completely frustrated and went to the target macro which caused me to hit the Colossus. I hate that because it makes me look like an inept player and I hate that, even tho it's probably true. At that point I closed EC and went to CC and had no problem with the bars.

Gimme time and I'll figure out the new system, I'll try not to rant or complain too much I promise.:gee:

hehe no, the boss bass can be targeted, it was a bug that you couldn't :D
Also there is the target boss action in case you want a button to do that instead. Pinning the bar is also better than keeping the bar in the list (especially with the travesty and his 200000 fake copies) :)

The pinned hotbar seems to keep moving to the upper right corner where I keep my chat window and it gets covered up. For the longest time, I didn't even know there was a pinned hotbar.

By default is on the top-right of the chat window... just open the settings and move it if you don't like it there :p

I'm different. :)

I play UO on 3 different screen resulutions (I rarely get 20 mins to play, so I play when we're I can). To help with icons, I have 3 separate files for hotbar positions. Basically I replace everything in <WindowSettings> and presto, all my hotbar are in the right spot.

But 'pinned' must be a new window settings entry and I haven't taken the time to copy it to my default file. So I keep overwriting it and it ends up back in the default location, hidden.

Our guild did Travesty twice last night and I just added her bar to the Pinned doc and it worked great. It would show whoever she had copied and had no problem keeping up with the changes as she switched around. I kept targeting the pinned dock spot and it worked great. She's the one boss that I always give my pet the All Kill command hundreds (ok maybe not hundreds) of times during the fight so it keeps attacking her after it hits one of her mirrors. Having it on the the pinned bar I never even noticed health bars from mirror images during the two rounds we did.

no, there is no way to get that info (unless I find some workaround)... also the item type is "guessed" so it's not 100% accurate either :D

See? That's how dumb I am, never even tried that, I just get flustered and frustrated and that messes with my logic. Thank you, I will certainly do that next time.

Pinning didn't help at all this time, specially on the 2nd pass when we had more than 1. God I hate that room... BTW, pinning worked great on all the other rooms, just not Room Two...

mmm that's weird a mobile is either yellow or gray, how can it jumps between those 2 notoriety continuously? :/
I don't even know how to test that :D
