Hi everyone!

I wondered when I would take a break from UO and I thought I would have it planned out and such, but it seems that it just happened without me really realizing it had happened. *shrugs* I had been working 2 jobs there for a while with not much rest time inbetween, but I said to hell with that and quit the lesser paying one in order to get my life back.
I see I haven't really missed a whole lot...

I do like the pic thread we have now and I will have to try to get a pic of me on there as soon as Willie and G.v.P. put their pic on there (eyes don't count G!).
Willie and I live in the same town and he doesnt want me to know what he looks like so that I can't embarrass him if I see him somewhere.

Yellin across the mall "Willie Nelson...Willie its me...Innocent One...*waving arms back in worth*. come to think of it, it could end up the other way around and I could be running in the other direction instead of him.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and keeping cool. Christmas is 172 days away.

Whheeee... topic change... I threw my back out this week and ended up stuck on the floor at the BX til my mother in law found me and helped me shuffle out of the store. Well that part isn't cool, but anyone ever see "Hoodwinked"? The squirrel named Twitchy? I feel like that. Dr told me my sciatic (no idea how that should be spelled) nerve was inflamed and put me on steroids and two types of pain killers. Don't worry, only 6 more days and I'll be off the stuff but til then I may be a little wierd.

So it's hot here this summer. That may seem like a "duh" in most places, but it's not here. Last summer I wore a sweatshirt most days, but this summer it's been high 80's and into the 90's most of the time! Anyways, I got the kids a slip and slide. Had one when I was little and loved it. I was blowing it up and getting it ready when I noticed this warning:

Do not use in water

Ok... Should I run milk or maybe beer through it?

Ya know....those slip n slides need more of a warning as far as hurting ones self. I had one as a kid and I have bought them for my kids, but they cause bruses and aches and pains. Getting a good running start and flopping down on your belly to slide hurts like hell...which reminds me of a water park we just went to last weekend (Emerald Pointe,Greensboro NC)...a couple of those water rides can cause pain

. By the time we left my back and neck hurt. Why I continued to get back on these rides over and over I don't know...I suppose cause it was a blast.

Oh and the one that has the long drop where you lay on your back and cross your feet and hands, going down feet first...I got off that thing with my swimsuit bottoms up around my neck(at least it felt like it). I only got on that one 1 time!

The lazy river is more my speed.

I did get into a little tiff with a woman out in the parking lot tho... a thunderstorm from the depths of hell came out of nowhere and people were trying to leave...cars everywhere in a disorderly fashion trying to get out of the parking lot...I am walking to my car and she was trying to back out of her space so I stopped before walking behind her to wait for her to back out and she thought she would yell and curse me...terrible mistake...raining like mad...thunder and lightening crashing down and I am out there asking that woman to get up out of her van so we could have a "talk" about it. *shrugs* She didn't want to...

Although the guy is nevertheless entertaining and highly educated in his field through his experiences and knowledge, the buzz seems bizarre to me. At my university I was using a computer in a computer lab and in the google search history there were only three entries from a previous user(s), all entries related to him. Seems sort of strange that he has so many supporters. Good guy and all, but still--it isn't like he's John Ritter or something. It's a tragic death, and a freak accident as well, but it is also a dumb thing to do, swimming with stingrays? You all ever hear about the expression swimming with sharks? Sharks and stingrays are in the same class, maybe he should have looked that up. Yeah, ok, not good to mock the dead, whatever, just saying. It's one thing to show the viewers deadly things, that's cool, but protect yourself while ya do it too, don't swim right up to a stingray.

I thought he was great! It is hard to wrap myself around the whole thing I guess because it was such a freak thing. He was famous yes, but he was also just a man, a father, a human being like all the rest of us and I feel sorrow for his family. The knowledge he had will be forever lost I suppose, but I hope his hopes and dreams will be carried on.
I often use to think when I was younger that the last thing I wanted to do was die old, toothless and in bed, but now that I have lived life a bit I have come to realize that yes, I do want to get old and they do make false teeth and if I could just lay in bed a little longer each morning I would feel a hell of a lot better!

Hey...that looks just like my cat Pumpkin.
I don't know about ya'll, but this whole Halloween/October/chilly morning, chilly night thing has just sneeked up on me and I want it to go away! My kids are already letting me know how many days until Christmas.

Where does the time go? I'm not ready!

I will trade ya hot humid muggie and the airconditioner is still needed for a bit of chilly.

We enter our 2nd tornado season of the year till WE cool down to some degree s they will and do up north the air masses will collide for some weeks yet till we cool down more perma like.

But I am ready for pumpkin pies, apple pies, some pot roasts, anything baked in the oven instead of grilling out doors. And I really hate turning on the oven even with air conditioner going if it is still hot humid and muggie out.

I love Autumn more so up north though than down here since it is not as colorful and remains too long hot muggy and blah down here. Fond childhood memories of crispy leaves under our feet, hopping into big piles of leaves and while it was still legal folks burning autumn leaves making the entire neighborhoods sort of smokey fragrant of maples and oaks leaves being *torched* and yeh BON FIRES !

FOOTBALL yep I like autumn.. till it is like thanksgiving then racing holidays and boring jan hits all too fast. Then I just wait for spring. I think spring and autumn are my fav seasons.

I am a hot and humid kind of gal...I hate to be cold.
Oh, I am ready for the Fall/Winter food. Already had pot roast last week and chili just a couple days ago, but also had steaks on the grill too.

I think I will make pumpkin pie this weekend. I love the holiday foods just hate the cold.
Just for the record...I have already started my Christmas shopping.
