Guys, this might be why we aren't asked for input more often.....because even after being told something is or is not going to happen, and being given choices, some people still insist on choicing things not on the table. They *are* letting us choose.....that's the whole point of this thread, to announce that. It's just that keeping the name the way it is is not one of the available choices. Barring *that* the choices are endless....that leaves it wide open, LEAVING OUT calling them 'simoleans'.

We have a lot of items and land to remember TSO.
Everything in game besides the CC is TSO.

EA is hosting TSO.
EA will be hosting other games in EA Land.
There will be non TSO lots we can visit. Different areas of the map. There is talk of Freewill areas. Maybe paintball even. The devs have discussed a vest you could wear if you want to participate. So ppl can not just shoot anyone. There will be free motives for non TSO properties. We have a lot to look forward to.
Lee described TSO in EA Land as being like Toon Town being part of Disney Land. LOL if I am wrong forgive me. I am sure Lee will post if I am.

Now that you say that I think I do remember that parallel being drawn. I hadn't heard the stuff about paintball and such....some of that sounds really neat when one wants to break out of the money/skill/money/skill rut, I'd say. Maybe not good for hours and hours of entertainment value, but neat for something different anyway, and it sounds like there will be enough to choose from so that when one thing gets *old* there will be something else to switch to, whereas now after a fairly short period of time *short in terms of game-wise, not necessarily chronological* the *new* wears off, which is what lead to alot of burnout in some players before. I'm all for more choices!

Seriously, what is the freaking point of changing the name of the "money"? I mean, it's the same concept right, so why bother changing the name? Sounds like it's just another thing for EA/Maxis to work on as an excuse not to work on the more pressing issues we've been complaining about forever.

So let me think..last time I checked, We lost our money we worked out butts off for, casinos (major source of my money and fun), visitor bonuses (Which leaves no incentive to even be a roomie), cities we loved, and people on our web. We gained a new city I don't give a hoot about but can't play half of our sims cause the cities haven't been merged yet, stupid card games like the lava game where we get a certificate for each game completed as well as a lava lamp displaying the colors of each game we completed, and payouts from job objects so low that no one in their right mind would use.

And people wonder WHY we want answers? I don't think it's too much to ask for them to explain why they want to change the name of "simoleans" I mean it's a freaking name, so why bother with something so trivial when there are more important issues to address?

Anyone can choose to participate or not participate of course, but we've already been told why they are doing this....it is another step in separating from "The Sims" franchise, which is one of their goals. Beyond that, I'm not sure what answer you're looking for here.....but you make it sound like *you* are punishing *them* by not participating *until you get answers* when in reality the only one you're cheating is yourself, out of being in the running for the prize.

I have been playing since the bigging too and as far as the reasons for this game going down the tubes like it did was because EA dumped us and stopped doing improvements and upgrades thats why so many left before, not because of what the money was called. Nobody could miss that you are not happy with the changes to the game. But the questions you ask have been answered on a weekly basis for the last 8 months. All of them....sometimes by the Team and sometimes by the moderators and sometimes by the posters, but the answers are always the same.

EA Games wants TSO to be completely disassociated with it's offline Sims franchise....sooner rather than later, and in all aspects. It is one of the major points in the deal to not pull the plug on the game. There is no recourse, debate or exception on this point.

So our sims become avatars, The Sims Online becomes EA-Land...a *different* game, and our money gets an equally ugly new name, unless we can provide a better one...that does *not* remind anyone or tie into The Sims offline games.

But we get to keep our avatars, properties, internet home and friends. EA gets to keep it's most valuable franchise, clean, 'successful' and untainted by the massive failure of the soon-to-be-lost to history, The Sims Online mmog.

Um...yeah, I read that the reason was to separate the game from the Sims franchise...but the way I took that post, it was someone just commenting on what they THOUGHT the reason was, not an official answer from Parizad/EA. And no, I'm not "punishing them" until I get answers. I just think it's only fair that when we're asked to do this, there is some sort of explanation from the EA/Maxis staff as to WHY. I don't think that is too much to ask. Especially when the thread was started by an EA/Maxis employee. Plus there is the fact that there are more important issues to take care of FIRST. After all, this game is supposed to be for us, the players. Oh, wait..the game stopped being for us a long time ago...my mistake.

When I first tried to log in yesterday to post my suggestion, it gave me an Invalid Password error. I was persistent, and on the fourth attempt, it let me in. I suggest for anyone having password issues - if you are sure about the password, just keep trying.
