Bah can we say idoc script kiddies and waterbarrel fillers for teh win. Thus nearly every one was blocked up from even trying to place, self included.
*rolls eyes*
sOooooooooooo We get to spend a couple of days driving north *weather permitting* to go fetch a couple of our canine grandchildren ..to keep. Seems the youngest and her spouse OD'd on shelties and since ours passed away very recently, we will be getting two of our *grandkids* the shelties to keep ..if they can adjust to all this change for the two dogs to adjust to. They are used to being part of a herd of 7 shelties and us as visiting *grandparents* not their owners or *parents* ............we shall see weather permitting if we get to even make the trip.
They tried driving down here christmas eve but fog blanketed the entire distance nearly from indi to here. So they had to turn back with their dogs in tow. So now we will try to drive up that way since hubby is off for a few days *weather permitting*.
Anyhow their youngest sheltie and the other male sheltie, are supposed to become ours, IF they adjust to living with us instead of whom they are used to. Daughter and son in law also been getting in trouble guess there is a law up in indi to have no more than 5 dogs per household. They were applying for sheltie rescue license but ... then they have to turn their whole back yard into kennels and cant afford that.
We miss our choc lab soooo much she barely got to live with that bone cancer, she only made it to 27 mos of age. One of her last play days with the visiting shelties that they has just groomed and fluffed
$$$ all seven of em was that our lab taught the shelties to become WATER DOGS ! HAHA She dove into the muddy pond limping cancer leg and all and somehow conned 7 bright fluffy white and sable herding dogs ie shelties to become......water dogs ! THEY Were covered from head to toe in MUCK MUD and wet yucky water. Our daughter and son in law said ..............MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM LOOK what your dog taught ours they are a MESS we spent a fortune having em groomed for the trip down to see ya ! HAHA I said .........yu silly .. even limpin ours is WATER DOG extrodinare and you thought your herd would herd our lab haha NOT she taught em to SWIM in muck ! HAHA
Anyhow they were all here not too long ago all 7 shelties and our daughter and son in law, about 3 mos ago. So not like the shelties are strangers here they do know us. We just worrying about them becoming separated since they been 7 together for a couple yrs now. But the BABY male is feelin his oats and challenging all the other ones and wont behave like when he was a little pup and they all pwned him *for a week or two* ! HAHA
I got this photo of the youngest sheltie, as he STOLE the sitting chair spot of one of the 4 yr old females from her..and he would NOT back down nor get off her chair !! He just GLARED at her with this look of.. like pwnd I am not moving !!
HE one of the two shelties of our kids, that we are supposed to go get to keep. This photo when he was only 6 mos old he pushing a little over a yr old now and all fluffy poofed out. I guess Shelties don't get all poofed out till they do hit maturity 12 - 24 mos cuz he is alot poofier now than this photo of him PWNING the chair/sofa at our daughter's place !!
As for the other male we are getting I keep getting him mixed up with his litter mate brother and when all 7 of em come over to visit ...after awhile ya counting 7 purebred shelties all sable and white and it gets hard to remember who is whom after a while ! HAHA
So ya say "YO DOGS COME ! " when they visit ! HA
When they came to visit back in oct the whole neighborhood come over to see the circus of 7 shelties being led into a pond by our choc lab. Was quite entertaining a visit. Well our lab is in a better place now no bone cancer pain, and apparently the maturing shelties are *fighting* and its too many so separation hard as it might be ..hopefully will calm them all down with 2 coming to stay here with us and they plan to keep the other 5 of em ( 5 dogs = legal limit in Ind. per household). All their dogs are *fixed* they just kept on rescuing more and more out of the pound till now they have 7. Actually that is how my daughter and her husband met..she was walking her 1 sheltie and he was out walking his 2 shelties !
They got married and had rescued more of em from the pound till they now have 7 young shelties ..2 too many for legal limit. Gonna be hard for em to give two up, they all been tog. for nearly a year now their HERD of shelties. But yeh they are now maturing and getting into each others' faces snapping at each other, too much cuz it's too many of em ! !
Anyhow the baby as ye can see from this photo had his lil aTiTuDe from early on ! HAHA PWNAGE he would NOT get off the sofa that spot that was her sheltie spot for 3 yrs before HE COME into the herd.
So we will be getting him the smallest and youngest yet with his attitude ..he thinks he is a great dane and wont back down for any of em ! HAHA The other we are getting is a quieter male that one of the other males is picking on..so the divide kinda goes like so..we get the *brat* that picks on Prince..and we get the picked on one that gets picked on by Merlyn ! So we each keeping the aggressor..and the quiet one..of another aggressor male. *it should work this way* the rest are quieter males and females and just tell em all off ! GAH 7 shelties ! WE kept telling em WHOA yall going overboard that is TOO MANY but ..pft they didnt listen ! Anyhow, they maturing up nicely and starting to pick fights and thus SEPARATION and since we just lost our beloved lab they wondered IF we would take 2 of their shelties to save em from the pound. OF COURSE they are our only grandchildren natch we will !!
*weather permitting* we hope to go fetch em yet this week.
Ye wanted babble YE got it !! Here is the 'baby picture' of the one with attitude which same pup as the one pictured above but mos.earlier, whom would not get off the sofa for the older sheltie in photo above.
Here is another one that I believe we are getting ,as he looks cutely into my daughter's eyes with the innocent expression that he did not tear up her college thesis, nor her compact with her birth control pills as his chewy toys ! HAHA
Anyhow considering I am cutting UO accts and we are minus our beloved lab ..we think 2 shelties will keep us BUSY for a spell hopefully a LONG long shelties life time. What can we say ..these shelties are our only grandbabies natch we would take in 2 of em !!
I dont think our cats will be amused but then they were not fond of any of our other dogs ..till they got used to em !
