Oh, I can whip off a good.. "Hola," but it ain't gonna make me blend in any time soon.

I art a bit too pasty white to even pretend. Translate this and imagine, "Oh, damn.. it's one of those northern Norwegian chicks showing up here. And she can say 'hello' in Spanish! Think she learned it from Sesame Street, or should we mess with her a little?" *snicker, stare, snicker*

Now given three months and sufficient sunscreen.. I swear I can tan. Course right now it's December in northern Ohio, so I sure couldn't prove it...

My point exactly. After two weeks of this (2 down, 2 to go) I can understand most of what they are saying in Spanish (provided they are not speed talking) but saying it back to them not so much. Sometimes someone just walks up to me and goes a mile a minute and then eventually they catch on either that or the deer in the headlights look comined with "no hablo espanol" gives a hint.

ya just taking a couple of days to mull it over

its rather far from where I live right now ( 2 hours ) and I don't really want to move at this point however there are things that they are willing to do and things that I'm willing to do to make it work for the winter season so ya lots to think about and decisions to make ..... if it was only an hour or less away I'd be all over it but spending 4 hours a day comuting ( in good weather ) seems a bit much for me

LOL.... at this time of the year, well, pale is a kind description.

And.... LC, did you get the cakes and cookies I left in TB base the other day? Made a mad grab at one sigil (cuz I didn't have time to get more) and left you a treat for when you came to steal my poor lil baby back. You do know they are very unhappy in CoM base? Somehow, they just look "right" in Castle Brit and they want you to leave them alone
... and they also want you to stop killing Tinks ... well, it was worth trying ...

Anything is possible Vepl ... work has me unsure, as my mother would have said, "whether I am afoot or on horseback" ... yes, horse traders have all sorts of sayings ... most of which I cannot repeat here ...

Hi again ... since this is Tinks personal thoughts about Magincia, I decided as my UO friends, you would have to read it ....

Tinks moves silently through Magincia. This grand town and island, once glorious, beautiful even to a faction thief in full run for her life, or in the gray monotone of a faction thief looking for resurrection, now lying in waste around her. Silent tears slip down her cheeks as she passes building after building that hold meaning for her. Perhaps not the same meaning it would for others, but in some way each building has influenced her.

The bakery where she purchased countless cakes and cookies as “treats” for her CoM rivals; the tailor where she purchased and dyed multitudes of cloth used to decorate the CoM base and entrance and all the other buildings that served as haven or barricade for a thief on the run. How many times had she managed to avoid detection or death by reaching the next corner just in time or sidestepped to the back of the healer and just out of the range of a CoM tracker.

This is the first time she has visited the island, since the invasion began, while not on the mission of a faction thief, and Tinks is surprised at the level of emotion that it evokes. This town and island have been the site of more of Tinks deaths than she can count, she should be glad it is wiped away, perhaps not to return, perhaps to be reborn, but she is not.

She walks silently to the entrance to CoM base, looking at that bakery and remembering all the times she huddled silently waiting for a CoM to pass her by or the times she is “surprised” by a CoM hiding there. She smiles slightly remembering the times she has been stranded amongst a mob of guards and stepped into that bakery for a brief break to allow the guards to “rearrange” themselves more to her favor.

Tinks switches to wolf form and surveys the rest of the island. So much destruction.

She moves ever closer to the moongate and should be rejoicing that there are no longer serpents and birds and trees and bushes to entangle her every step but she oddly finds herself missing them. This is no longer Magincia, not that Magincia that welcomed her so harshly to the world of factions; not the Magincia that gave her her greatest rivals and some of her best friends, one in the same in some cases. Tinks feels great sadness that she was unable to help in the defense of the Magincia.

Circumstances of life, the reality of being a faction member trying to defend in Felucca, all kept her limited to minor assistance in Trammel. Tinks sister Aranel came to attempt to heal and defend Maginica Felucca on several occasions but the most recent time she left disheartened as the roof of the building to which she had teleported came crashing down with her, as fellow “defenders” lured demon after demon into the city to speed its destruction. Another tear slides down her cheek at the thought of such callous disregard.

Tinks moves to the moongate, now charred trees and vegetation all around it. The remnants of the last monumental battle are everywhere and she steps silently and sadly into the gate.

She is teleported practically into the hands of a “less than friendly” red and suddenly, Tinks is on the run again. Perhaps that is exactly what a grieving faction thief needs.

Damn.. ye mirrored my own thief's sentiments so exactly I got goosebumps.

My fighter did her best until the guard corruption became obvious. Even she feels the same way. It's as if an atomic bomb went off over familiar and well-used buildings.

It's almost painful now to pick one's way through the debris.

bah burn the dang island to the ground!!!!

hehe ya I was there trying to save as well and I'll say that LS did a better job then many shards so good on us but it is kinda funny to see now. Also I had a rune to the top of a building that is not to the top any more as the top is gone hehe to bad recall isn't working I'd like to see if its still on the same plane or if I just drop to the ground

I'm sorry for those who have a feeling of loss with the destruction of Magincia
. One good thing though. Is the buildings/places may be destroyed but the memories one can cherish for years to come.

dereal you have always been on a plane of your own

Damn.. I might even go to one of those theaters.

Here, they just keep cutting up the old theaters into smaller chunks without changing much else. The screen gets smaller and smaller.. and so does my attendance!
