A report in the jail of Trinsic (RP)

When I got to duty I got the report that Keina had been attacked by two Vesperians. Luckily the marksman Joshua Lewis had been with her and avoided that she got beat up further.
Though I have to suspect that a drow called Sirendelle who is associated with Vierna might have tried to kidnap Keina. She tried to carry her through several gates and only because of the marksman she remained in the town.

I questioned Sirendelle and naturally she denied it and claimed she only wanted to get her to safety, but Iljian’s report which he took from the marksman and Keina suggests otherwise.

Maybe Iljian was right and I should have arrested her on the spot, but I still hope to avoid further troubles with the drow.
And it would be hard to punish her for the tried kidnapping and I doubt she would have gotten more than a fine and maybe some stocks anyway, for what she did.

The two Vesperians had been women one using magik the other one using a sword and a buckler.

Stewart paid his rent for the bakery for a year ahead as he got lucky with some gambling.

I need to write to Vierna to remind her that the drow under the Duchy protection are nay for her to threaten, kidnap or torture, so maybe arresting a few will help.

Talked to Faeryl then and told her to inform Vierna to leave the Duchy protected citizens alone.

Vesper attacked Trinsic again claiming to look for fugitives and many people got injured on both sides before the fighting ended.

Later on some Vesperians tried to attack again but retreated outside the walls this time.

I informed the guards that the banker Kerr was found dead in Spiritwood and I will send some guards to investigate it tomorrow.

Remind me to send the local healers to some more training and hopefully one can convince them that ginseng does nay cure everything and nay all wounds need to be cleansed with burning out anymore.

I better go home before they decide to amputate a leg so I that I have to take their advice to become a baker or else pirate.

Duty was pretty quiet today and except that we had to put Thorien on stocks as he repeatedly had refused to disarm his axe and resisted arrest.

Rak’suun is back though he nay found any sign of Katine. He seems though more stable than when he left and so I let him get on duty immediately again.

Brynhild has Friday off as Corwin asked if he could spend some time with her and I obliged.

Rest of the evening was quiet and I will spend a nice evening with my love.

Last days were pretty quiet and uneventful and there is nay a lot to report.
Brynhild had an evening off with Corwin and it seems they enjoyed it.

We had some minor disturbances from Vesper people trying to sneak into town and make troubles, but managed to sort it in the end.

Nil’tyr attacked Keina and knocked down Kimi and then fled when I tried to arrest him. Keina later claimed though that she was nay attacked and that it was some sort of test.
I am not sure what the drow intended, but it did not seem to be a murderous attack, still need to find out more.

I promoted Yukiko and Luid to guardsmen and I am pretty sure that they will do fine and surpass me soon.

On a sadder note Iljian asked today to be released from his oath and the Duke complied. He seemed to be very unhappy and looked relief when he was released from his oath and later today set sail for home as far as I know.

Else the town seems to be thriving a little more again and business seems to pick up and the rest of my shift was quiet.

Today was a lecture about Gargoyles in Umbra and it seems that they know some about their language and crafting, but nay idea about their social structures.
The lecture was pretty well visited and I saw Sir Muldran there, but we nay could arrest him as he left through a portal.

Upon returning to Trinsic we found Vesper had decided to attack again under the pretence of wanting Tammy and her accomplices as I later found out.

Lots of people got wounded, but they seemingly did nay find what they looked for and in the end were thrown out of town.

When I felt better Lady Kimi came to talk to me and took back the charges against the Drow Nil’tyr.
The drow came later on and as I had nay real charges I sentenced him to 2000 gold for resisting arrest, which he paid.

Sir Decardo visited then too and asked about the damage from Sir Muldran’s escape as he wishes to pay for it and also thinks that Muldran will turn himself in to stand trial for his crimes.
I promised him that lady Reann or his Grace would be his judge and that his partial insanity would be taken into consideration.

Vesper with help from a Yewish templar attacked then again, but were thrown back. It seems Vesper officers are trying to get tactical help from the Yewish, as them nay seem to make any progress.
That Yewish templar was recognised by several Kaldorians by uniform and proofs that Vesper is allied with Yew now.

Sir Orson had arrested Gia for some stealing matters and it seems someone beat him up and Gia managed to flee.
Sir Orson thought that her husband Reywan was the one that had beat him up and so when Reywan entered town we arrested him.

Sir Orson though nay recognised Reywan and as I thought Orson’s accusations of Gia nay holding up I let both go.

It seems Sergeant Orson has a personal dislike or crush on Gia and tries to get her arrested all the time, so I ask all other guards to keep our old sergeant a little in check until I find some easier duty for him.

I promoted Meygan to a guardswoman as she deserves it, although she messed up in training by attacking Keina and getting beat up by Talon and Hugo for it.

There will be some training with Kaldor today at 20.30 for all that wish to join.

Lots of people were at the training when I joined my duty and as I felt fatigued I nay joined it.

Dawn brought a former Yewish guard to me who thinks about becoming a guard. His name is Borgia and it seems he wishes to retire in the Duchy guards as a guard and seems content with a warm place and ales.

Some books with riddles were hidden throughout town and if you followed them through ended with a small prize.

Also got news that Cove and Vesper signed a peace treaty.

A man called Kelvin Goodsword was attacked by drow outside of town, but it seems he provoked them with taunts before. In my opinion he tried to rob them but was beat up by them, so I decided to let it rest with that and only told Hugo to return the gold he had taken from him.

Tammy and Taryn attacked the marksman Ganty that took her chairs and beat him up. He was very confused from the hits he took and ran around town naked until Hugo tried to stop him.
Hugo in his nay thinking way though beat the marksman further up and I had to get Kimi to tend to his wounds and also to give him something to calm down. He insisted to stay in cell two over night as he thinks Hugo wants to kill him and I agreed and left his cell door open.

Kimi, Rak’suun and Nil’tyr escorted Keina home, though all three returned after some time. After inquiring I got informed that Nil’tyr refused to leave Keina alone after she asked him to and so Rak’suun and Kimi beat him up until he fled.

To be safe they returned Keina then to town and it was decided that she stays with Kimi for this night.

Town was pretty busy when I got on duty, but all seemed to be pretty quiet and rak’suun who had been on a patrol out of town also reported that all was safe.

Lady Soulshadow reported that Meiko nay is in the Kaldorian army anymore and Gwen said that after she had tried some of Meiko’s cookies she had felt as if poisoned.

I talked to Talon today and he said he nay knew anything about Nil’tyr and that it would be fine if he had to keep his distance from Keina. He also added that Keina nay could wear a Duchy uniform as she is too young.

I also told Rak’suun and Kimi that Nil’tyr has to keep his distance from Keina and also to Rak’suun not to get too closely friends with Keina, as he is nay her father.

Vesperians attacked the town in force and only because of the combined forces of Kaldor, the marksmen, elves, Duchy forces and others, did we manage to beat them back.

It was a long fight and many did get hurt again and this time Vesper actually asked for our surrender and promptly was refused.

It seems Twothumb has totally lost the control over his forces or just lost his mind and I have nay idea how to stop the fighting at the moment.

I invited all to celebrate the victory at the tavern while I stood guard at the gate, when a robed figure strolled into town. Hugo and me challenged the person but she refused and just walked on. We caught her before the bridge and managed to block the way and Hugo gave the person to the count of three before he stabbed it.
I thought the person would disrobe before Hugo finished his counting, but he nicked her with a poisoned kryss and she dropped unconscious from it.

After checking we noticed that it was Magistarte Leisa Llwyd who wanted to test if we could get the conflict solved without violence.

She said that she would protest to his Grace about the bad guard behaviour these days and a personal reprimand about me.

While I talked later then to Rak’suun we heard fighting outside and when we checked we saw some guards and marksmen fighting with some Brigands.
We helped the fighting and finally managed to bring one down.

Back in town we noticed that we had captured Dexius Brutusand I set his sentence to a branding on his right palm and then ten lashes at his back and five more at his right arm, where he wields a sword.

As he struggled and tried to hit Rak’suun, I added five more lashes to his left arm.
Rak’suun and Brynhild did the branding and Raksuun afterwards got ready for the lashes. There was one disturbance though as one person threatened a child with a knife and tried to blackmail us to release Dexius.

Luckily someone jumped in and disarmed the criminal before he could hurt the child and knocked him out. He was also put on the stocks and received ten lashes as he called Dexius with Chef.

Dexius and his companion were half dead after the beating and we left them in the woods where their fate is undecided, though I guess they are nay as easy to kill as we assume.

I was fatigued after this day and had to try to solve arguments between Hugo and Meygan, but failed.
Also Keina decided to stay with Rak’suun and despite my displeasure he agreed to it and let her stay with him.

*a note is added to the report*

Yer Grace,
I take full responsibility that Magistrate Leisa Llwyd was hurt in Trinsic when I was on duty. I failed at recognising and handling the situation correctly and will accept any punishment you will decide upon.

Yours,

Kaelyn

*physically and emotionally exhausted Kaelyn fell into her bed which was empty as Tiggarn was out fishing these days. The pictures of the flogging still haunted her and thinking it unlikely that sleep would come she lay down.
It only took a few moments and she fell asleep dreaming of the flogging and all the blood, broken bones and burnt flesh.
Slowly though her dream changed to the one in Montor and this time it seemed that Chaos had taken over the city. Buildings were burning and creatures seemingly out of nightmares were destroying the city.
Kaelyn awoke from her nightmare and noted that only a few hours had passed, but she also knew that she nay would find more sleep after this dream*

To the "Ye Sosarian Morning Poste",

Due to your failure to pay the outstanding rent of your building for almost a year, the Duchy of Trinsic will seize the remaining assets of "Ye Sosarian Morning Poste".
The sellable items will be auctioned off at a day yet to be announced in Trinsic.

Today was fairly quiet and when I started my duty I went to the Rose for the repair hour and got my sword and shield repaired.
I met his Grace there who had bought new clothes and we walked back together to town to talk about the incident with Leisa.
It seems his Grace nay sees too much fault with me and only slightly reprimanded me and advised that Hugo nay should use poison when warning people.

His Grace also agreed that I might take some days off to rest a bit, as I am fatigued these days because I sleep uneasy.

We spent quite some time getting Rak’suun into a workable disguise as it was hard to hide his drowish features.

His first tries were a bit strange though innovative as he claimed to be a woman in a pink dress who is only allowed to show her face to her husband.

But in the end we found a workable disguise as a mute farmer who looked for a healer with a facial deformation.
Keina went as his translator and helper and both played their roles quite well.

Meygan transformed with magik into a dog, which is nay something I like but acceptable under the circumstances.
Meygan started some quarrel with Keina again and I suspect that she secretly drinks on duty as she moves sluggishly, but I nay can smell any alcohol on her breath.

I warned her that if there was any more trouble she would be demoted and for her quarrel I deducted a weeks pay from her salary.

Thorien wandered through town again with his axe and he refused to disarm it and he was beat up and had to be treated at the healers.

Katina returned for a short visit to the town, but refused to tell Keina or what she had to do. She seemed to be famished but unhurt and refused to tell us anything, except that she wanted to check that Keina was well.
Katina urged us then that she had to leave and we let her go, but I still wonder who holds such power over her that she even leaves her sister behind.

Day was pretty quiet and Kadul introduced me to a the new recruit Athar D’Elion and showed him around.

I talked with his Grace what to answer the Drow and we both agreed that the Duchy nay could give them what them wanted.

As I felt fatigued and as all was quiet I retired after writing a reply to the Drow.

Captain Kaelyn.

I received your request for assistance against various enemies which regularly plague your city, via my sister. You must appreciate that such a request, puts me in a rather awkward position. I am not at war with any particular faction in this dispute. Indeed my stance, so far, has been entirely neutral, one which I would prefer to maintain. I have other priorities and I would be reluctant to let outside factors interfere with these goals. There is also the heavy responsibility that I may be shedding Drow blood for what is essentially a human dispute.

Nevertheless, I have not rejected your request out of hand and have discussed the matter with a few of my lieutenants whose opinions I value. You see that is the difference between someone like myself, who earned the right of leadership and someone like Irvyn who leads because of an accident of birth. My people follow me because they trust me to make the right decision, not because they are told to by someone who hides behind a title.

After much thought I have decided to agree to your request and offer the assistance you require. However you must offer something in return. Firstly, my status within the town must be cleared to allow me access and freedom. I must be there to lead, it is what is expected of me. That is another difference between me and Irvyn, I lead from the front, not from behind a desk in some safe haven.

Secondly, control of East Trinsic is ceded to me in respect of payment for services rendered. This area is most suitable to me since it contains the docks. When the dispute is finally over I can go forward with my real aim, that of trade.

Those are my terms. Despite our differences in attitude, we have always got on well so I feel sure that you can meet my, not unreasonable, terms. I look forward to receiving your agreement at your convenience.

Vierna Hun’ett
2nd Duaughter, House Hun’ett

*a copy of a letter is added to the report*

To Vierna Hun’ett

Thank you for your offer to assist the Duchy, but sadly we have to decline it.
We nay can offer you a part of the town, nor ignore the crimes you have done against the Baroness and forgive them so easily.

As your people though also have benefits of Trinsic it may be clever to support the Duchy in the defenses of the town, as all other towns nay even allow your people to enter or trade.

I may consider though renting off the one or other building in the eastern parts if you intend to open legitimate businesses there.

I believe as long as you nay force your politics in town and follow the laws that you can live with all other citizens in peace.

Town seemed quiet when I got on duty yesterday, but it all changed pretty quickly when Dottie came running to me telling that a man had given her something bad to drink. She then pointed at Thorien, who had given her dirty Trinsic river water to drink as she was thirsty.
I sent Dottie to the healer and fined Thorien a hundred gold as he knew that the water was bad to drink.

Brynhild went with Thorien to collect the fine, but I learned afterwards that he tried to bribe her and then ran away, so I raised hios fine to five hundred gold.

Put a beggar for thirty minutes into stocks as he insisted on bothering the nobles and paladins and threw him afterwards out of town.

Arliana got robbed by a man in black clothes with a cap and wielding a sword with a goatee and we suspect that it was Thorien trying to get to money. He robbed six hundred gold and a golden necklace from the lady and though we searched the city nay could find him.

Zara had some troubles with Tammy, but I managed to keep the two off each others throat.

Vierna was at the Trinsic gates talking to Talon and as Kimi and Keina are missing I fear that both are being held captive by the drow.
Tristre informed me that her sister Iym’are is held captive by Vierna.
She is Kalannar’s daughter and I am nay sure if we nay should get involved.

If any of Vierna’s drow are seen on Duchy land they should be brought into the jail and questioned. If nay sufficient answers can be got from the questioning the drow should be kept in captivity until answers can be gotten.

Kaelyn

Liana asked for a long unpaid leave of absence and I guess she went to look for Iljian and I hope they find happiness.

Some people from the Skara Brae Community visited and wanted to talk to his Grace and left a present and message from him.
It seems they look for an alliance or at least for some trade agreements.

Brynhild was at the Umbra lecture and told me that it was about preparations to parts unknown and that she saw Muldran, but nay could arrest him as too many people were around.

I told all guards and people that Keina and Kimi are missing and that drow are the most likely suspects.

Rak’suun and some others went out to find a trace of the two missing women, but nay found anything.

Some crazy elf called Synara came late at night into town and started trouble with Rak’suun and I had trouble to separate them and sent Rak’suun to cool off at the Moongate.

The elf though then attacked me and knocked me out and took off into the woods. She is to be banned permanently from the Duchy grounds and may be attacked freely anywhere on Duchy lands and is nay protected by any laws.

BANNED

The elf who calls herself Synara is banned from the Duchy of Trinsic.
She may be attacked freely and is under nay protection of the Duchy.

Below is a picture of the elf and the most prominent feature is her pale skin.

Talked to some drow about Keina and Kimi and later even managed to talk about Faeryl about them, who assured me that they did not have the two.

It seems it is all Nil’tyr’s doing, but better to keep asking and find out if that is the truth.

Some Vesperians were at the gate asking to talk to some Paladins or Knights and went to the Rose then to get drunk where I heard that they stumbled over Sir Taggart.

One of the Vesperians ignored the ban and was beat up and thrown out for his stupidity.

It seems Mordred and Shelly are back for good, but Is till had any word from Natalie yet and hope she is fine.

Went with Rak’suun on some patrols looking for Kimi, but nay found a trace of them anywhere.
Hoping that anyone would find them soon we waited in town and at the end of my shift a guard reported that Kimi and Keina were at the gates badly wounded.

Rak’suun, Meygan, Faeryl and another drow helped me to get them to the healers. Keina is very badly wounded and may die from her wounds still, though Kimi did her best, though the Trinsic healers said the drow would not survive it.

Both are in bad shape and were badly tortured by Nil’tyr as Kimi told us and will have to stay at the healers for some time.
I ordered Rak’suun to stay with them at the healers and also will stay three over night to relieve him in a few hours.

Had a talk with Vierna today and all went quite well. She accepted to leave the hands off the Duchy protected Drow and I said I would nay interfere in drow business as long as it nay interfered wi9th the Duchy.

Lady Kimi wanted to give a report about what had happened and Stewan carried hr to the tavern where we got her in a quiet room to listen to her report.

Kimi said she got a note that Keina was in Nil’tyr’s hands and that he wished to see her.
Kimi did as she was told and went to him and got imprisoned in a cell under his house.
A human female woman helped him and they both tortured Kimi and Keina and the woman was jealous of Kimi and took pleasure of hurting her.

Kimi somehow became his pet and he tortured both of them and if she did as she was told Keina would nay be tortured and the other way around with Keina.

Kimi tried her best to protect Keina and even assumed a role as pet so Keina would get less punishment and got branded as sign for it.

Finally as both submitted totally to him he started to treat them better and Kimi managed to treat some of Keina’s wounds.

Kimi confessed that she killed the human woman that tortured them both on Nil’tyr’s wish. She also reported that when she saw a chance that she charged Nil’tyr and wounded him badly, leaving him bleeding on the ground.
She then snatched keina and some clothes and managed to stumble in direction of the west gate where we found her then eventually.

Kimi asked that we stop trying to bring her up against Nil’tyr and I agreed that we will try to wait until she sees reason herself and will keep her at the healers until I think she does.

*a note is sent to Sir Decardo Imier*

I finally got a note about the costs to repair the wall which muldran damaged in his escape attempt.

The materials only cost 276 gold but with all the work and time it added up to 674 gold in total.

Yours,
Kaelyn

Got held up by some things and was late on duty and nay managed to accompany his Grace to Skara where a wedding took place.
Yukiko though went there and reported that all was fine and nay thing exciting happened.
Town was fine and Kimi and Keina recover slowly and Lady Soulshadow advised
That Rak’suun should show more distance to the two as he seems to be too far involved.
I also think that a small voyage for Lady Kimi might help her to get well sooner as too many things remind her here about what happened.

Vesper came and asked that we surrender to them. As I refused I was knocked out and woke up in cell where they questioned Mordred and another drow.
It seems them tried to win Kaldor over, but provoked a fight then with other Kaldorians and gave up on it and let us all go.

It took me some time to return to Trinsic as I nay felt too well and had to rest some time on my way.
When I returned I found the town quiet and Kimi and Keina safe at the healers. I went after writing a short report then to check up on the two and talked a bit to Kimi.
Kimi informed me that she had gotten a note from Nil’tyr claiming that he is alive and I informed Talon and Faeryl about it.

The note says

‘Ssinjin deis my pet,
I shall be watching’

Because Nil’tyr is still alive I ask for a special warrant that asks for his capture or rather his death and I would also like to see a bounty on him. As I am nay sure if I can ask for his death I would like to know if such could be decided in a trial or a tribunal, even in his absence.

I had a long talk with Kimi about Nil’tyr and she confessed to me that she thinks that she is with child. She wishes to keep it secret and has decided to keep the child.
I informed Talon and also confronted Faeryl asking that she informs Vierna about it and assures the safety of Kimi and her children.
Faeryl was furious and nay could assure me it yet, but said that she would talk to Vierna about it.
I told her that if we nay come to an agreement that I would ban all of Vierna’s clan from Trinsic until the matter is resolved.

To the Knights of Virtue

As you may have heard two citizen were badly hurt by drow and are still recovering from their torturing.
One of the two is Lady Kimi who was tortured in mind as in body and as I think that a different place as from where she was kidnapped would help her to get well quicker I would like to ask if she could stay with your order for some time.

It is widely known that the knights know lots about the healing arts and I think that she would be in good care and could heal up quicker.

The Duchy would also pay whatever you would charge for these services.

I hope to receive your answer soon,

*some words which may read ‘Dear Diary’ are crossed out at the start of the report*

When I got on duty town was busy and lots of people around and Bryhild on gate duty. On my first patrol through town I stopped at the healers and found Kimi and Faeryl talking to each other.
Kimi asked then if she and Faeryl could wander a bit about and I agreed to it.

Keina seems still unchanged and still mostly talks in drow and I continued my patrol then back to the gates where a woman called Elizabeth Beckett waited on me asking to see his Grace.

I sent a message to his Grace and got a quick answer that business would bring him to town anyway and so I told the lady to wait at the jail.

His Grace arrived quite quickly and agreed to see Miss Beckett who looks for some work as scribe or any other good position within the Duchy.
His Grace agreed that I should try and find her a suitable position and I have a few ideas in mind. Maybe some normal scribing work or help with the citizens project of a census, or work on some posters at the printing press we got left from the poste.

The lizardthing that haunted Hugo for so long was captured and I put it in cell three until Kaldor gets it tomorrow. I nay have any idea what it is or what it wants, but it seems Lady Soulshadow has more interest in it as it has some connections with some Kaldorians.

I talked to his Grace and he agreed that we nay should take any chance and ask for a confirmation of Nil’tyr’s death and will offer a reward of 10.000 gold to anyone who can bring that proof.

Lady Kimi returned and as I helped her along to get the healer a mugger jumped out of the shadow and pointed a bow at me and asked for my gold.
I handed it over to him to keep Kimi safe and when he was gone chased after him.
I met Hugo at the gate and together we looked for the mugger and managed to corner him in the northern part of town. The mugger handed me back my gold but tried to run so we beat him up and then threw him out of town.

Seems some comrades were hiding in the woods and we got attacked by three more of those muggers. Corwin and Brynhild came to help us and in the fight me, Brynhild and Hugo got hurt before all the muggers could be chased off.

I got word from Athos that he will try to see Kimi and talk about her healing and I told her that at the healers.

I also should send a note to Lady Alraune to talk to Kimi privately as it may help her to find back to herself again.

REWARD

For the person that can prove the death of the drow Nil’tyr the Duchy offers a reward of 10.000 gold.

The drow was last seen badly hurt with probably bad burn wounds south of the Trinsic moongate and was suspected to have burnt to death there.

There is some doubt that the drow is really dead, so we offer anyone who can prove his death with finding his remains the reward.

Yesterday’s duty was pretty quiet and only interrupted late at the evening with some fighting when some magician with some grudge attacked two Kaldorians at the gate with some fire being and his magik.
I arrived at the west gate and found the two Kaldorian hurt and the magician gloating over them.

I challenged him and he cast some magik on me and I retreated into the town to escape his first spells. Luckily the drow May’quiri saw our fighting and helped me to knock the magician out.

As it seemed to be a Kaldorian fight and I was only bruised a little I handed him over to Kaldor with the condition nay to torture or kill him.

Athos and Madellaine came to get Kimi to Tel’Mar where she can rest her wounds and think in peace about her problems and how to carry on with her life after the ordeals she had been through.

Today there was training with Kaldor on Serpents hold and lots of people took part in it. It lasted quite long and we had some interesting fights and tried new tactics.

When I returned to town I was bruised and tired and the guards reported that the town had been quiet.

Rest of my shift was also uneventful and only news is that Keina seems to be healing fine and wishes to visit Kimi soon.

Duty started quiet enough with many guards and recruits returning to active duty again.
His Grace was there to take the oath from Joshua Lewis and also took him up as armsman because of his service as marksman for Trinsic and I also promoted Athar D’elion to Armsman.

Keina was allowed to visit Kimi and with Talon and Stewan she went there to visit her and found Kimi well.

Lady Soulshadow was attacked by the mage in green clothes called Phlebas that had attacked other Kaldorians yesterday.
She got bruised and hurt her wrist, but was nay seriously injured and I will write a warrant for him tomorrow.

Lance Sanders entered town in Yewish uniform and seemingly was unaware that Yew is banned from the Duchy. I sent Yukiko and Joshua to escort him outside where he drew a weapon and attacked the guards, but was taught quickly by them the error of his ways and knocked down.

Later Kadul was attacked by lance Sanders in the woods and managed to beat him up again and I hope he sees that as a sign to maybe retire and become a farmer.

Rest of my shift was quiet and uneventful.

My duty started quiet with his Grace questioning the mage Phlebas and nay coming to any result. Sir Devante later talked with me and said that Phlebas might get transferred to New paws where his trial will be and I nay see any problem with that.
I talked later on with his Grace about the project with the memorabilia of Jordan Jurrel and he seemed to be interested and I will write to Flame and Mord to get more informations about Jurrel’s life.

Some man informed me that parts of my house were on fire and when I headed there two hooded persons jumped out of the bushes and demanded the cell key. I refused them and they attacked me and knocked me out and seemingly stole the key, as when I awoke it was reported that Phlabas was free.

I went to the healers and rested there over the night where some elven healer took away most of the pain and I hope my house is nay so much damaged that ah nay can sleep in it the next few days.

I will put out a warrant for Phlebas and consider a bounty on him, as because of my fault Sir Devante and Lady Soulshadow are in danger again.
Also will tell the tinkers to hand out new keys tomorrow and change all the locks.

Dear Lady Flame and Sir Mord Mhor,

I am writing to you in request of information of Sir Jordan Jurrel.
I am looking for any information about him you have, but would prefer if you could point me to some short summaries about his life and work.

Also I am interested in any pictures you might have of him, which I might either use or make after it a drawing myself.

I intend to use these informations in memory of the Commander and so that all citizens can see and read about his ventures.

Yours,

Kaelyn, responsible for trade in Trinsic

Town was quiet when I got on duty and I went to the Rose to listen to the storytelling contest.
His Grace was there and I informed him about the mage’s escape and also lady Soulshadow who visited a little later.
Both were displeased and hoped that we would find him soon and his Grace left for home after the contest.

Lady Soulshadow said she would go to the bank and then return, but after waiting for thirty minutes we got nervous and started searching for her.
We nay found a sign of her and nay one had seen her anywhere in the last hour.

I sent out the guards and informed the citizens about Lady Soulshadown and a drow reported Phlebus had been seen in Haven and so my guard sna dthe Marksmen went to look for him there.

We searched with nay result and talked to the local militia there who assured us that they also would look for him and inform us if they found anything out.

We returned then to the town and found it quiet and hope that Lady Soulshadow is well and that we can catch the mage soon.

I assessed the damage the fire has done to my house yesterday and I am glad to report the damage is only superficial and nay destroyed anything except the paint.

Got late on duty yesterday and was immediately swarmed with complaints about Meygan and Hugo.
It seems Meygan annoyed Keina again and also hurt Kimi when Kimi wanted to protect Keina.
Leon on the other hand reports that Hugo who was very annoyed about Meygan threatened them and also entered the town with a robe on. Hugo refused to show his face and drew a weapon and so Leon and Meygan knocked him down and put him on stocks for a short time.

As I have warned Meygan though before to leave Keina alone and she nay did so I relieve her from duty until I have talked to her and decided how to proceed.

Rest of my shift quietened down then and nay thing to report.

Today’s duty was uneventful and Brynhild, Kimi, me and Stewan attended the Umbra lecture about some strategy game we will play over the next weeks.
I think more people can still join in and rules will be posted throughout the towns.

Sir Adammair and Lady Alraune brought good news about Commander Soulshadow.
She is well, though nay in best spirits and only was getting some rest and nay wanted to be bothered by anyone.

Sir Orson’s long lost daughter Onyca arrived today in Trinsic and surprised him that she wants to stay with him as her mother is sick.
Seems she comes from a love adventure may years ago in Skara Brae and shows that our grumpy sergeant once probably had a love in every harbour.

Town was quiet and on my first patrol to the Rose and through the town nay thing to report.
Muldran Skully turned himself in and I sentenced him for his assault on two people and the escape from jail to one week without his spellbook and also closed him out of his house. Also he volunteered to help the healers for twoo weeks and also will teach anyone that asks on topics he knows things about.

I was at the gate when I heard a commotion outside the gates. When I went to check it I heard fighting and saw that Vesperians came running out of the woods and charged the town.
A fight started and many people including me got hurt and had to get treated by the healers.
I have nay idea why they attacked, but several citizens reported that things got stolen from their houses and so I guess they were short on gold and tried to rob the town again.

I saw Meygan at the healers who also got wounded and told her that she is demoted to armswoman and that I keep a week’s pay from her, for her bad behaviour with Keina and Kimi.

Sir Janus cam visiting me at the healers with a child he found and said that he considers becoming her legal guardian. The child is a drow called Jhalirdrii and said she would like to become Mathias’s squire, though I nay think that is the best idea.

Lady Jade feels threatened by some Kaldorians and so if you see her around guard and watch over her and see she is fine.

Day was uneventful else and uneventful.

When I got on duty today some Yewish Guards were blocking the gate and Klion was telling his lies.

His Grace ordered us to let them leave though I am nay happy with that as them still broke the law by coming here.

Shane Rensha leased the stables and seems to be pretty competent with animals as he has a sort of tame bear with him.

Katina, Keina’s sister was seen walking the streets of Trinsic, but nay one managed to talk to her.

Rak’suun is relieved off duty until he is well and also I will keep in one week of his pay for nay doing as told.

Day started quiet as it is normal and I did a patrol to the Trinsic Rose where the repair hour was and got my shield dented out.

Town seemed quiet so I went to the Umbra tavern to talk with others about the game and then returned to town to get some paperwork done.
I nay felt up to get a lot done though and so I went out to the gate where I saw Muldran shying away from his work.

After threatening to rent his services off to Tammy, Muldran was a lot more eager to do his chores and may prove to be a usable floor sweeper one day.

The gate got quieter and it was nice and peaceful until some monks came along accusing us of being sinners and attacking us for our sins.
I got hit over my head and Brynhild and Shelly too, but some others then including Mordred managed to chase the monks away.

Later Keina told me the monks were probably from Vesper, as one had lost his robe during the fight.

I nay felt too well and had to go off duty before my shift was over.

Training yesterday led by the Kaldorian Captain Duo and as I expected it was to be an exhausting one. He ordered us first to haven where some abandoned ships lie in a canal and we trained how to board such ships and fight on them.

Afterwards we went a bit south to a bridge where we had to guard some bagballs and drag them over to ‘our’ base.
Training was very exhausting and left me pretty tired and I have to say that Yukiko did well in the training.

It was late when we returned to Trinsic and all seemed quiet enough except that the magician Caern I think is his name returned from whatever place he was lost.
He promptly insulted Keina and Zach Moorgard and Hugo beat him up for it, before he could even draw a weapon.
Took me some effort to settle the matter and in the end he agreed as he nay had been seriously hurt and was also nay innocent in the matter to settle it all for a fine of 400 gold.

I got the gold from Zach and handed it over to Caer, though somehow I doubt the matter is over and I suspect the magician will try to get his revenge on the Kaldorians and maybe on us too.

While I handed the gold over at the ban a strange drow practices some magik and Joshua asked him to stop, but the drow laughed and continued.
As Joshua fired a warning shot the drow started to cast at Joshua and I had to quickly charge the drow and knock him down to prevent that anything more happened.

The drow claimed he was just singing, but I know it is a lie as I have heard such incantations from some magik users before and I warned him to refrain from using his magik in town and let him go on a warning.

We have a new Tokuno fox in town called Hitomi and you are all to treat it nicely and with respect.

I left Joshua in charge of the town when I went off duty and expect that everything is in order.

Town was quiet when I came on duty and all was fine, so I sent Solus out to scout the moongates and maybe some cities.
She returned stating that at the Moonglow moongate some dark dressed man had attacked her and knocked her out.

Also some stranger told us that some pickpocket had stolen his jewelled dagger, but his only description was bad clothes and a man.
We patrolled the town but nay could find any sign of him.

Gorn and me went to Moonglow but we nay could find anything out of the ordinary there and so returned to town

In town Keina reported that Carn was digging some hole near the bank and led us to him. I confronted him and he claimed that he was looking for some treasure, but tat the spot was wrong anyway.
I let him close the hole and had him hand over the shovel to Joshua.
Joshua escorted him then to the tinkers where Carn claimed to have some business and then out of town.

I was brooding over some paperwork when Solus and Joshua brought a bruised man to me. He was a Vesperian who had tried to spy and had been caught and I let Solus built stocks and put him on it for ten minutes.
He threatened and insulted us and so I told Solus that after fifteen minutes she could let him down and kick him out of town.

Joshua came running into town reporting that he had found a mutilated body besides the road and that Carn had been seen dumping the body.

I ordered Joshua to take the body to the helaers and see if they could find out more about it.

Carn returned to Trinsic later and Joshua and me took him into the jail so he could tell where the body came from. He claimed that he had found the man dying from a bear in the woods and wanted to bury him.
As the healers had said that most of the wounds had happened after the death I grudgingly believed Carn and took all his magik things from him and with Joshua’s help escorted Carn to the moongate and told him that he is nay welcome here anymore.

Eike gave me some interesting information that Vesper might be inclined to attack, because of the man we put on stocks before.

Rest of my shift was quiet and I hope I manage to catch as much sleep as last night with the sleeping potion the healers had given me.

First half of my duty was quiet until Sergeant Orson insisted on harassing Gia again and trying to arrest her for old crimes. I had to call him off and it is maybe time to get him some quieter duties with less responsibilities.

Joshua later told me the man with Gia drew a knife on Orson though and I ordered that if that happened again they should put the man on stocks then.

Some man attacked and hurt Joshua when he was asked to disarm. Sir Orson,me and a drow managed to knock the man down and fined him and threw him out.

Some orc was sneaking around the town and threatened the animal life around. He nay attacked anyone though and so we nay killed it .. yet.

Came on duty and Brynhild and Joshua were guarding the town and reported that his Grace was in the jail expecting visitors.
I went to greet his Grace and was informed that a caravan from Skara would arrive soon with long awaited trade goods.

Brynhild managed to miss the caravan and so I had to lead them to his Grace and also showed the Skara guards the local tavern and invited them for a drink.
One of the Skara guards was attacked by robed figure, but stayed unharmed, but a patrol through town nay showed any sign of it.

Muldran helped with the unloading of the goods and finally he did some honest work and some other trader called Brynn offered to trade metal if we could give him leather.
He asks for 500 of each leather so all guards are ordered to collect leather on their patrols and put it into the barracks.

Town was quiet except for Brynhild and Joshua fretting with a Gnome and I told them that although the Gnome wore Vesper clothes that if he changed
His clothes he could stay outside town.

Joshua was so upset that I had to send him off duty and I heard that Brynhild also soon afterwards finished her duty.

I decided to gather some firsthand information about Moonglow and set of and found the town itself quiet though peoples aid that the Lyceum was under attack.

So I went there and found it swarming with attacking dark wisps and flesh golems attacking the people trying to defend the Lyceum.

I helped a bit in the defence, but the wisps had the building in their control and all the mages working there must have either fled or died defending it.
I tried to help as best as I could, but soon was exhausted and decided to retreat and report about what happened in Moonglow.

When I returned there were lots of Kaldorians training outside the gate with Captain Duo.
Genty of the marksmen made an insult about the Kaldorian Commander and refused to take it back, though I asked him to do it.

Talon heard it and ordered the Kaldorians to surround him and they beat him up and hurt his arm, so I had to get him to the healers.

One of the Knights Hospitalers came into town and the Kaldorians ran after him and said that they had orders to remove him from town.
I argued a little with Duo, but gave in the end as I nay wanted a fight and the Knight complied and left the town.

I then confronted Duo to take off his helmet and he said that he is on duty and nay would remove his helmet. I told him that it is law that when there was nay fighting that people took their helmet off, but he just laughed.

When I threatened to arrest him he let his soldiers line up and threatened to knock me out if I nay let him be.

I disagreed and was prepared to challenge him when Joshua hit my weapons hand with his weapon and disarmed me and forced me so to retreat.

As I nay wished to go to the healers Joshua shot an arrow bolt in my leg to keep me in town.
I managed to drag myself to the healers and as Joshua just followed me ordered a paladin to lock him up in a cell and handed him the key.

I accuse Joshua Lewis of attacking an officer, refusing to follow orders, cowardice, betrayal of the Duchy and relieved him from his duties.

The healers say I will be fine soon and then I hope to see his Grace to decide when to hold a trial for Joshua.

Your Grace,

I regret to inform you that the Captain of the Trinsic guards does not seem fit for duty. She arrived on duty today looking very visibly unwell, such is her current health that she even informed me the healers do not think her fit for duty. It is because of this I believe she is making critical mistakes that could jeoperdise the City.

A few hours ago myself and Brynhild were removing a a gnome who was wearing Vesper militia uniform and was identified as such. A few Kaldorians who were also gathered at the West gate of the city protested our actions as they claimed the gnome was once one of their own and harmless. Regardless of this we followed the orders set out by the Captain herself that all known Vesperians are to be removed from the city as it is a risk they may be spying on your city.

As we marched him away from the gate the captain approached us and ordered us to halt. She agreed the gnome was not allowed inside the city but then she informed us that, in her opinion and in opposition to her own orders, if the gnome changed clothes and we ignored him he was allowed to stay. She made fools of Brynhild and myself infront of the Kaldorians and the Vesperians in allowing a known vesperian to remain on Trinsic soil and able to continue spying.

Furthermore when I asked her permission to speak freely to her of her actions and current state of mind I was only allowed one sentce before she filled with anger and ordered me off duty. The captain then proceeded to leave the town in pursuit of finding out the current state of Moonglow, abandoning her post and leaving no guards to cover the night shift, instead a single Paladin, a horde of kaldorians and the beady eyes of the Vesperian gnome (spy?).

I do not write this out of spite for the way I have been treated this night, I write instead because I feel the Captain is not well enough to continue her duties I believe she should benefit greatly from some attention from the healers and some rest, before the Duchy Guards and your city suffer irrepairably for her mistakes.

Signed
Armsman Joshua Lewis.

*Kaelyn slept fretfully at the healers and fussed so much about that the healers finally gave her a sleeping draught that let her fall into a dreamless sleep. Healers told me this morning that I could leave, though my leg still hurt a lot and so I limped on my round through town. At the ;Moongate some Pixie appeared and said the phrases ‘Help elf’, ‘Elf will die’ Darkness, pain’, ‘Weakness’. The Pixie refused to tell where, except far away and also refused tot tell me a name of an elf.
But as I questioned it more, it disappeared and I nay could find any trace of it.

I returned to Trinsic and informed the elves and the marksmen about what I had seen and heard and they told me that Gwen had been on a mission.
The needed Devante as Gwen had left a diary and they wanted him to read it, so we could know where she might have gone.

Gorn the Kaldorian was wearing his helmet again and I reminded him about it.
Some Vesperians were in town and Dawn, Kadul, Solus and some marksmen managed to capture them and they were put on stocks and then thrown out of town.

Leon got into some quarrel with Gorn and got hit by the Kaldorian and complained to me.
I told Leon that he could hit once back, but the Kaldorian continued to fight and refused to stop. So I ordered the other guards to knock him down and put him on stocks.

General Paladis dropped by and I challenged him about some of the Kaldorians attitude and he reassured me that Kaldor still is an ally, but that Kaldor also are proud soldiers.

I was on a patrol around town when I heard that Vesperians attacked and I engaged them outside the gates, but was knocked out pretty quickly.
I woke at the healers where a Vesperian was looking through my belongings and only a quick draw of my dagger chased him off.

Seems they were attacking to rob some shops and for revenge for the other Vesperians we had captured before.
Luckily nay one was seriously hurt and the loss of gold and property was nay as grave as feared.
The tavern misses some barrels of ale and the jeweller some necklaces, but most could be saved.

After the healers tended my burns and other bruises I returned to duty only to find Sir Ikus in the jail questioning me about Joshua.
We went to the cell where he questioned Joshua and also asked me some things.
After the interrogation he insisted that two Paladins take me to the healers and that I was strapped to the healer’s bed.
I think he has gone crazy and rather believes the traitor Joshua than me and I think this shows him as the coward and fool many people suspected.

Luckily Gia came and managed to loosen my straps, though Joshua whom Ikus had released from his cell tried to stop her.
He attacked her and wounded her, but I managed to grab the weapons beside my bed and chased him off.

After checking that Gia was fine I left and went to look for the traitor Joshua. I found him trying to leave the town and after some fighting managed to put an arrow in his back.

I dragged him back in his cell and under the guidance of a healer dressed his wounds and this night will show if he survives it, as his wounds are serious.

Still I will address his Grace tomorrow and accuse Joshua and Sir Ikus both of treason.

Hello friends,
I wanted to apologise for my behaviour these last months and I hope that you can forgive me.
I stayed some time in Tel’Mar, but despite its beauty I nay found any rest and decided that I had to solve my troubles before I could consider getting well again.

It happened that I ended in Spiritwood and had a nice evening there and talked with Muldran about some troubles.

*a sketch is added to the letter*

I felt restless though and left earlier to get a head start next morning to resolve my business.

Managed to sort it, though it was nay easy and you can tell Muldran that I returned the necklace to its place and that he better serves his sentence and nay wanders all over the world.

I returned to Tel’Mar and rested there for a few days and I have to say that I feel better and also that the dreams nay returned.
I will head to Tokuno for some more rest and I heard a lot about the place and want to take a look at it.

Oh and I heard that Lady Reann is Captain now and I know that the town is in the best hands.

Love to all,

I returned to Trinsic today after resting in Zento for a few days, but his Grace was busy dealing with envoys from Skara Brae and had nay time too see me.

Lady Reann is acting Captain and we agreed that we would wait until the Duke decides that I can come on duty again.

Keina and her friend Benjamin staged a play – good versus evil and like we all want to see good in the form of a noble paladin won!

Some suspicious people tried to sneak very suspiciously into town and when Lady Reann challenged one, he ran. The chase took us all through town, but we caught him finally only to hear that he was just trying to shop and had tried to sneak in so as not to get robbed.
It was all a lie as we all knew, but we nay could do more then throw him out of town.

Lady Reann agreed that Keina might get accepted as Duchy apprentice, though I am nay sure it is a good idea, as she might get hurt.

Else all was quiet and I am glad to be back and will put this short note to the other reports.

I still stayed off duty today and decided to join the marksmen at their training near the harpies nest.
I am out of shape and I have to get used to the heavier weapons I intend to use and will need more training for it.

Town seemed quiet and I was dealing with some licenses when I got informed that Vesper was attacking. When I went outside I saw them attacking Lady Reann and I tried to help her but was knocked out by some magik spell.

Managed to get to the healers when I regained consciousness and learned there that Vesper had retreated from town after their initial attack.

I wrote the lease for Meygan’s sister Kendra then and handed her the lease of the jewellers for a month.

Some demon creature was strolling outside town and we suspect it is after Tammy and it may be an old love of her that sold its soul to something and returns now to gain her love.
Tammy though refuses to know it and says that it wants to eat her soul, but I am nay so sure about it.

Hugo and Alusair brawled a bit throughout town, but it nay seemed to be serious enough to interfere.

I expect to return to duty soon and hope to do my best to nay disappoint his Grace.

The Duke decided yesterday that I should take another day off and so I only stayed a short time in town and all seemed to be quiet and well under control.

When I got to town today all seemed quiet and Lady Reann had everything under control.
His Grace was talking to some strange man and asked to see me when we got messaged that Vesperians were out of town.

Lady Reann faced them and listened to their demands which were Trinsic’s surrender and acceptance as slaves.
As lady Reann refused fighting started and we managed to throw them back and chased them off the lands.
I got knocked down by some magik and had to get treated at the healers.

His Grace talked to me then and said that I would be expected to be Captain again and Lady Reann would be Justice again.

I accepted and went on duty afterwards and have to report that my duty was quiet and uneventful.

First day on duty and it all started out complicated with the Kaldorian Duo making trouble and refusing to remove his helmet in town and also Gorn who followed the example of his Captain.
Luckily they moved off to training and Solus reported about a man dressed in black clothes who had attacked her.
Brynhild and me searched for the man, but nay could find a sign of him and returned then to gate duty.

A pixie ran by, telling that Vesperians were in the Rose and asking for Kaldorians.
Me and some Kaldorians went there and found about a dozen Vesperians in the Rose claiming they wanted to talk to the Kaldorians.
Duo and Talon and some others went in and talked with them while I told the Vesperians that I nay would fight them inside the tavern.

As them nay accepted that they beat me up and threw me down the stairs where Iljian cared for my wounds and helped me back to Trinsic.

I nay know what the Kaldorians and Vesperians agreed, but the Vesperians left the Rose later on.

Only had some slight burns and a few bruises and could return to my duty after a few bandages.
Duo and Gorn still made troubles at the gates and I almost fought Gorn as he refused to listen to my request to remove his helmet in town.

I wrote a banishment for Captain Duo which bans him from town until the matter is solved and ask Lady Reann for advice how to proceed, as I nay know what else there is to do.

Rest of the duty was reasonable quiet and Tiggarn brought me home at the end of my shift.

Kaelyn

Dear Lady Reann,
I am at my wits end with the Kaldorian Captain Duo, who refuses to follow the order to nay wear a helmet in town.
We either change the law concerning helmets or maybe write a permit for him or something, but for the meantime I wrote a banishment for him to enter town.

I hope you can advise me how to proceed in this matter,

Town was very quiet when I got on duty and slowly some citizens trickled in but all in all it was quiet, so I asked the marksmen Lydia and Dreathor to check up some rumours about spawns.
Them reported that the shrine south of Trinsic was fine but that whent hey checked out the Justice shrine people reported about strange ongoings there and that some magik force corrupted it from time to time.

I hope the Paladins and Knights of the lands can keep the evil in check and keep the pilgrims safe.

Nothing else to report tonight from Trinsic.

Had late shift and it seems the paladins on duty nay managed to sort all the things as we got complaints that some more bombs were found.

It seems though all bombs were disarmed and destroyed in the end and nay one came to harm.

Kade handed me a box which was sent to the Duchy by a woman from Luna. It contains some strange armor from some experiment and I put it in the armory, in the crate with the shoes.

One of the kaldorians nay agreed to put down her helmet so I challenged her to a fight out of town and I lost. Spent same time at the healers, getting my bruises treated, but could leave quite soon and when I left I found Captain Duo in town.
I reminded him of the ban and he said that if he had to go, that he would take the Kaldorian army with him and that the agreement to guard Trinsic was void then.

As I nay saw any other solution I agreed to it for the moment and so I guess that Trinsic is nay longer allied to Kaldor at the moment.

Despite what Faeryl claimed Lil’alure is in town again, though he is horrible disfigured. He nay attacked me though I am nay sure what his intentions are, he claims that he is with some cult called Eilistraeean.
I advise that he is to be closely watched and I think it would be good to inform Faeryl about it.

Duty started quiet as most marksmen and Kaldorians had headed off to train or fight. The marksmen went to Tel’Mar as rumour has it some magik corrupts the shrine.

Mathias Janus and Lady Tabbhita came in with a prisoner called Borghor from Haven, but after inquiring with all I decided that I needed to hear the Haven side too. I asked Iljian to get a Haven noble and he returned with Sir Darkion and he and Sir Bevier from Skara finally came to an agreement.

It is sure that Borghor is a magik user and also quite surely a necromancer, still I saw nay reason to hold him and so Sir Bevier agreed that Borghor will be tried in Haven fairly.
So we handed the prisoner over to Haven and hope things will get sorted out by them and Skara.

Gorn was at the gate making some trouble again with refusing to show his face in town and we got into a fight over it. During this fight Tiggarn helped me and Hugo then attacked Tiggarn.
It ended with both Kaldorians hurt and I think that the alliance is fully broken now.

Sir Ikus advised to talk to Paladis again and to maybe change the laws to make it easier, but we need a solution soon before more fights start.

Meygan and her sister Kendra started to brawl in town and Eike thought to help us by disarming Kendra and took away her bow. Kendra attacked him for it and he had to run and if anyone sees him ask him to return the bow, but nay arrest him.

My shift today was quiet and uneventful and except that his Grace and his son Isodore visited then town nothing out of the ordinary happened.

His Grace talked to a new squire of the paladins and also allowed Iljian to build a lighthouse near the harbour.
We talked a bit about the troubles with Kaldor and I agreed that I would try to go a little easier on them until his Grace can talk to their General.

When I got on duty Brynhild reported that sir Janus had been attacked by a demon and beat up. I also think she mentioned that the demon took the paladins armor with him, though nay sure what the demon would want with it.

Sir Janus though was nay badly hurt and could leave the healers soon and put on his spare armor before riding off again.
It seems the demon was the one after Tammy and Sir Janus wanted to impress her by slaying it alone.

I gave orders to shoot the demon on sight and hope we will kill it soon, before more paladins fall prey to him.

Some dog peed on my boots and clothing and I had to get it cleaned and took off some time and walked the streets of Trinsic shopping a little.

Afterwards his Grace had an argument with the Kaldorian Captain Duo and ordered him out of the town limits and to show some common sense.

Tammy reported that a woman had followed her into the woods and tried to attack her, but Tammy managed to flee to the town.
Tammy said the woman said something about an elf seer and that she had to pay.

I ask all guard to see if anyone follows Tammy and ask them their names and what they want in town.

My shift was over then and after a quick drink with Tammy at the tavern I returned home.

Yesterday’s duty was rather quiet and except that some threatened Lady Gwen and asked her strange questions. The man interrogated Gwen and it seems some new danger threatens the elves, but nay one knows anything more of it.

Tammy and Fabienne had a minor quarrel and it ended with Tammy biting Fabienne because she felt threatened.
I ordered both to stay apart and advise all guards to keep them separated.

Today was also quiet and the Rose and town were safe, so I gave Brynhild some time off to be with Corwin. Later on I talked to Brynhild about her relation to the Kaldorians and that she had to be certain where her loyalties lay, but I think she will do well.

Iljian handed me a map for his Grace, which he has to approve of and I will add a copy to this report.

Gerek came later on into town and kept insulting various visitors like Kendra, and Tammy and got beat up twice for it.

Gerek claimed he rescued some Lady in Skara called Celia Hart and he also claimed he let her husband burn in the house. I would like to inquire if such an incident really happened and will try to contact someone in Skara.

*You see what appears to be plans for a lighthouse. They were obviously not made by a professional and include a fair share of corrections, mistakes and cuts.
However, they clearly picture a lighthouse, a slim tower with windows and a round light on top. At its bottom there is a small hut and a free space for supplies and tools*

*a copy of a list is attached to the report, adding up things that are needed for the building. However, it is surprisingly short, apparently only holding things that Iljian really cannot organise himself*

Yesterday lady Alraune and Sir Adammair opened their Salon officially and showed it to the public. Stewan had prepared lots of different foods and also organised lots of different drinks and many tables had been placed in front of the house.
The party started a little slow with some people visiting, but definitely got interesting when some Vesperians decided to drop by and admired the Salon and especially the picture of Lady Alraune.
Luckily nay trouble started and also some Knights from Skara visited and also Lord Darkion from Haven and the two talked about their recent troubles.
Sir Darkion told us that he will set a day for the trial of his guard and inform us about it.

In the meantime Lady Alraune read some fortunes in her cards and Sir Adammair chatted with the guests and entertained them with stories about his life.

Tammy informed me that the one woman that had tried to attack her in the woods was there and I talked to the woman and she said that she had just looked for information and nay would bother anyone here again.
Stewan later informed me that probably the same two had questioned Gwen and some others about some necromancers, but he nay was sure.

It grew late and I only managed to capture a small sketch, but the Salon is open now and can be visited and you can see one of my pictures there.

Town had been quiet with the festival, though when I returned on duty Gerek was there and asked if he nay could join the guards and also asked Lord Isodore if he could. But I see nay way that I could work with him so I denied his aplication.
Katina told me that a boy had been robbed by some man, though ah nay found the boy or the Thief.
Some men visited town and Hugo started some trouble with them, but when I tried to intervene they all attacked me an knocked me over the head and if not for Jaraxle and Katina they would have taken me prisoner. As I learned later the four were from Vesper and probably had the plan to take me prisoner.

It was only a concussion and the healer sent me away again after I stopped seeing double and told me nay to sleep for a while.

Had a slight headache today when I got on duty and still had my head bandaged and was promptly confronted with a band of Vesperians trying to arrest Tammy. Tammy managed to flee and the Vesperians retreated when Iljian helped me to guard the gates.

Kimi visited the town and she is fine though she told me that two of her five children were stillborn. The other three seem to be fine though and stay in Tokuno for now and Kimi wanted to see Keina to talk to her.

I promoted Athar D’elion to guardsman today and as Sir Orson also got on duty retired sooner to rest.

Town was quiet yesterday, almost deserted with hardly any trading going on.
Most people took the time of holidays to visit family and loved ones.
Nothing noteworthy happened during my shift and I forgot to write my report before retiring.

Today the town is a little more busy with some trading people visiting.
Also Kaldor seems to be out in force and General Paladis is talking with his Captain.

The General asked me about a locksmith and I told him to check the tinkers, but I nay think this was what he wanted to hear.

All seems quiet and clear today an I am doing a patrol through town. then reporting for gate duty.

Let the healers look me over and they said I was nay worse off than normally and could return to duty. They also seemed to be pleased with my short hair claiming that for a baking girl it would be more useful, once I realised that I was nay fit to be a guard.

I talked to his Grace and his son at the gate and I told him about Dexius and the involvement of Kiran and Gerek. His Grace though stated that as it nay happened on Duchy lands that ah nay could hold the two responsible and I grudgingly agreed.

Eike got promoted and celebrated it with lots of beverages and also invited all to celebrate with him.

Vesper came then looking for Tammy and a fight started as I naturally refused them searching the town.

Tammy had noticed the rampaging Vesperians before and had fled the town.
I got knocked out in front of the gates during the fight, but Devante and Yukiko put up a fierce fight and as the Vesperians feared reinforcements they retreated.

I added today’s bruises to yesterday’s and after the healers told me that I should nay bother them I returned to the gate, where I found a bruised Zefar. It seems he jumped into their portal and was beat up by a Vesperian and afterwards dumped by Escaflowe again near Trinsic.

A male drow called Darius sneaked around town and he claims that he looks for some kind of enemy. He almost started a fight with Dawn, so I think we better keep a close eye on the drow again.

All was quiet when my duty started and I chatted a bit with Iljian who wanted to show the progress of his Lighthouse to his Grace.
Sadly his Grace was nay in town and Iljian wanted that his Grace could see the progress and also confirm the project again.

I talked with Kimi about handing her the trading licenses and she agreed to think about it and to tell me her decision later.
I think Kimi would do fine and could easy my burden of responsibilities and with Iljian gone we also need a new quartermaster to pay the guards.

Adammair and Alraune were looking today for Stewan as them want to hire him for tomorrow’s opening of their salon and I told them that I would tell him.

I then went to check Iljian’s progress on the lighthouse myself and found it as he described it and also included a sketch of it.

As I returned to duty I learned that Hugo and a marksman called Deren had a fight in the woods. Hugo claims that Deren provoked him until they started brawling and the fight took them into the woods where Hugo knocked the marksman out and left him there. It seems Deren though was nay hurt too badly and he managed to get to the healers, as I saw him later for a short time at the gates.

I got reports that Kaldorians broke a key in the main door of the jail, rendering it useless. Also I got reports that some non Duchy people got keys to the cells and to the Duke’s office and I will order the Tinkers to change all the locks in the jail and at the Duke’s office.

Meygan and her sister quarrelled again a little at the gate and I had to send Meygan off duty and told her sister to talk to her, before I would have to punish her again.

Eike had some troubles with a woman whom he got to close to and she accused him of taking her money. I think I have to talk to Eike again reminding him nay to be too liberal with his hands in town and to avoid trouble.

Tiggarn visited me at the gate before my shift was over and escorted me home, so I would be safe.

Got on duty and just after asking Yukiko if all was fine Tiggarn came on running and informed us that Dawn was being attacked at the docks.
As we arrived three Dawn was holding down a man who had refused to show his face and as we tried to question him Dexius Brutus and some other brigands came.

It seems they were trying to smuggle or do some sort of deal there and a fight started. In the following fight many brigands and guards got hurt, I too got hurt and had to see the healers.

With the help of the paladins we managed to chase the brigands away, though we nay could capture one, as them had hired some outside help to help them.

After the town quietened down we went to the reading of Lady Alraune and there was even a queue for the readings. Iljian came too and we showed his Grace the progression of the lighthouse and his Grace liked it.

His Grace had a private treading of his fortune later on in the evening and the town grew quieter.

A head with nay body was found in front of the town on the road and I brought it to the healers. There them told me that the man had been dead for a few days and that nay one of them knew him.

I guess it was left by the brigands as a warning nay to interrupt their dealings in town and was the body of a traveller them killed.

Brynhild was already on duty and had everything under control when my duty started and a patrol through town showed that all was safe and quiet.

Iljian came shouting to the gate, claiming that a traveller had been abducted by some monster and being dragged into a cave.
Me, Yukiko, Brynhild, Iljian and Corwin headed to the Cave and while I guarded the entrance them entered the cave, though they looked as far as possible them nay found any trace of anyone.

We had to return accepting that with nay more people it was nay possible to advance further and so we returned to the gate.

Iljian told there what had happened. He had seen a man walking from the Rose towards Trinsic when a Trogg jumped out of the bushes and dragged the man along to the cave.

Will have to send patrols to the caves more often to keep travellers safer.

Keina complained about Carn and please keep an eye on that man, as I think he is crazy. Carn is looking for a certain scroll which Lady Reann took from him and I will check if it is somewhere in the jail.

We got a warning that Vesper might come looking for someone and so I ordered Brynhild to make barricades and sent Luid off to keep watch.

After some waiting a vesperian force appeared at the gates claiming they look for Kiran or Locke or Tammy or maybe even the easterbunny.

Seeing the fortifications they feigned a retreat but I suspected that them would try to come from the south and managed to ambush the scouts I sent to check the south gate and overran us then at the gates.

I got knocked down early in the fight and awoke at the healers and got informed that vesperians had stolen several valuables from various shops during their so called search of the town.

I heard that they found Kiran in town, though nay sure about why or if.

Sir Devante Stirling set a Military parade tomorrow at 9 pm at the barracks including an inspection and later on a show how to build fortifications.
So I expect all to clean their uniforms and try to look their best.

Left town before my shift was over, but I nay felt well enough to do my guard duties properly as my leg hurt.

Today was parade day organised by Sir Devante and so all of the guards who came on duty were busy getting their gear in order before heading to the barracks.

There Devante made the guards stand at attention and we inspected their gear then.

I included a sketch of it below

Afterwards there was some training, how to treat different guard situations, though almost all ended in fighting anyway.

During the training a lady came and told Iljian and Lord Isodore about some chancellor Michael of Spiritwood and his disappearance.

Iljian and Lord Isodore went there and upon returning reported that a demon was there and that Chancellor Michael was missing and only his staff could be found, which they returned to Trinsic.

After the training I resumed my post and was talking to some citizens when Yukiko ran along chased by two muggers. I tried to help her and a fight started but it all ended out the gates for me when I ran into some Vesperians who knocked me out.

I nay know what happened, as I awoke in my hut with my wounds bandaged and when I returned to the town all was quiet.

As the fights seem to get more frequent I decided to put a ban out on all Vesperians again and sent the poster also with a messenger to Vesper.

Yukiko reported that Carn helped the muggers who attacked her and so I will also put out a warrant for him.

Banishment

Due to the escalating conflict with Vesper I see no other choice as to ban all Vesperians from Duchy lands. This includes all people associated with the Swaggers too and they may be attacked on sight and thrown out.

Included are Gerek, Kiran and any other known Swaggers help, if anything was unclear.

I would like to get names and descriptions of the people as soon as possible and will make them public.
Also any strange behaving unknown animals which maybe magik users use and nay belong to anyone are to be killed.

A full list of people that are banished and not Vesper militia will be put out later.

When I got to duty today everyone was busy preparing things for the festival. The crafters were all busy setting up their stalls and others started decorating the streets of the town so all of the town could reflect the festivities.

The festival was peaceful and except some small thieving it stayed rather peaceful.
It started off with a market hour where from leather to furniture even small puppies were on sale and found buyers.
Afterwards there was entertainment by the famous Emily who sung, told jokes and showed many more of her stage performances.

A sketch of the festival below

Afterwards Lord Isodore continued with the tournament where groups of three fought other groups and in the end it seems some Vesperians were victorious.

After the festival people slowly dispersed and some smaller brawls between some Vesperians and other happened but nay thing serious.

Some brigands tried to kidnap Lord Isodore and with the help of Hugo we managed to capture two of them.

One with the name of Weston had helped one of the criminals and was put on stocks and fined 2000 gold for his release then.

The other one refused to tell his name and attacked me and Meygan in the cells and we had to forcibly restrain him.
He got fifteen lashes and a banishment of one week and was then thrown out of town.

Leisa asked me to join the guardforce again and asked if she could be a guardswman and I obliged.

Was an exhausting day, but I am glad everything went with nay bigger fights and we had a relatively peaceful festival day.

When I started my duty town was rather quiet and Brynhild had things under control and Callum was waiting to talk with me about Carn.
He advised me to ask more about the motive of the curse and who wrote the book and then to decide how to proceed.
Also he wanted to be informed about any informations I could gather about it, though I suspect it is for his personal interest and nay to help Carn.

If Carn is seen in town put him under arrest and in a cell so we can talk to him and find out more. If it is necessary use force and if there is nay hope for him we might have to consider to kill him before he becomes something more dangerous.

Talked with Stewan then and he informed me that I had forgotten to note down his payment for the lease and I corrected it.

Hearing that we might have trouble with Vesper the Britannian Guards and allies from Skara Brae had also come to help us and also other citizens hoping to repel the Vesperians.

I let Brynhild build the stocks and some defenses, though as I learned afterwards one of the marksman was seemingly a little bored and built a formidable defense, though some said it resembled more a maze than a blockade.

Nevertheless when words came that Vesper was attacking we were glad of having it , though Vesper was unkind enough to attack from the southern side, avoiding most of the barricades that way.

Still we managed to get ourselves sorted and after a fierce battle in town managed to throw them out.

We also had our share of wounded to take care of and so nay managed to pursue them and so Vesper decided to stay at the southern gate near the moongate and try for an attack again.

We managed to rally our forces quicker though and attacked their positions and after another brutal fight managed to chase them off through the moongate.

This was seemingly enough for them and so after some celebrations most of the fighters got some deserved rest and the town became quieter.

Sir Miguen proposed that as the elven quarters were near the moongate that the elves would like to guard the south gate for the time being and warn us of another Vesperian attack if it should come from there.

Gerek dropped by to exchange love stories with Hugo and even after I threatened to shoot him he refused to leave.
I shot an arrow at him at his leg and wounded him and he started to attack me. We chased him through town and he managed to knock down Meygan before Kendra and me beat him up and threw him out of town.

Meygan should be quite fine soon as her wounds were nay too serious and it looks her pride was hurt mostly.

Alusair had started her shift when I returned to the gate and two people one in grey clothes with white hair and a white long beard and an elven woman were insulting Alusair.

Gendin came along and we listened a little to the strangers and Alusair trading insults, until I decided it was enough and ordered the strangers to leave.

They refused and an fight started in which the elven attacker quickly fell.
Me, Alusair and Gendin who helped us chased the remaining man into the woods and he managed to poison Alusair near the Compassion shrine so she nay could continue the fight.

Gendin was determined to capture the brigand and with my help we chased him all the way to Britain where we finally cornered him in the Warrior’s hall and beat him up. We left him there as he nay would be any danger for some time and returning him back to Trinsic for another beating seemed more effort than it seemed worth.

We returned through the moongate and Alusair in the meantime had reported off duty and Sir Gendin also took his leave.

My shift was way over and so I headed for rest and hope that the next days will be quieter.

The Rose was pretty quiet as the town and my first patrol was uneventful.
I talked with the Britannian guard Captain Ldindir Calmil and he graciously offered us our help against Vesper and also proposed that we might take the fight to them.
I answered that it would be considered and should be proposed to his Grace and the other leaders.

Kimi visited today with some good and very bad news. The good news is that she agreed to take over the licenses from me when time allows her later this month.
The bad news is that Nil’tyr is back and after Kimi and Keina both.
Kimi told me that he is the same though he has large burn wounds at his neck.

I will put out a warrant and a bounty on him on his capture, though I would rather see him dead.
I informed Hugo, Faeryl and others close to Keina, though I nay managed to reach Talon yet.

Pistia and Dawson Black, diplomats from Haven visited and talked to me about taking up relations again. I told them that they would have to talk to the alliance leaders and they said that they would do so as soon as possible.

Carn came into town and I arrested him on the spot and put him in a cell.
I asked him about the curse and the book and he answered that the author was a vampiric medium, who passed it down to an ancient lich who laid a curse upon if any pages were torn from it.

He said that he would have to venture to hell to retrieve something dear to his heart. I have nay idea what he really wants to do, but I need more insurances before I give him the missing page.

I mananged to get a written promise of him that he nay will harm a living being for the time and I then handed the scroll to him and let him go, hoping that I did the right thing.

Left Meygan in charge of guarding the town and went off duty.

Duty was quiet at the beginning and Brynhild eagerly built barricades today and informed us that the elves were on some expedition in Ilshenar looking for something for Kirtian.

We got a warning then that Vesper would be attacking and we sounded the alarm and called in all available people for defenses.

Like last time the Vesperians came from the southern side and attacked the bank, though nay managed this time to rob anything. After their last try the security to the vault was improved and the doors were locked as the alarm bells rang.

The fighting was harsh and brutal and many people got hurt, but in the end we managed to push them back and out of the town.

I got pretty bruised in the fighting and had to rest for some time afterwards and heard that in the meantime his Grace, Lady Gwen, Sir Devante, Lady Soulshadow and Sir Isidore had a meeting and talked about the town’s well being.

Stewan provided the refreshments as I had asked him to do and I put it on the Duchy tab.

A diplomat from have cane to town and I led him to the conference room where they talked it seemed for hours and I nay know up to what result.

Carn came into town and said that he would need the towns water reflection to lift his curse. As I nay trusted him I asked Meygan to help me watch him performing the ritual and it nay had any immediate effect.

Below a small sketch of the ritual

He left the town still as lich though claimed he would have to perform another ritual to be cured.
While we escorted him out of the building we stumbled over Sir Isidore who was being robbed by some Brigand in the park.

Upon seeing us the Brigand shouted some curses at us and fled out of town with us in pursuit, but we lost him in the woods.

Carn returned later on and seemingly he nay looks like a lich though his manners are still non existent and sometimes I wonder if it nay would have been better to just kill him.

I included a sketch of his looks now though there is still something strange about him

Town grew quiet then and I forgot to mention that I started paying out the outstanding wages of lasts month to the guard.
Brynhild and Meygan got their pay and I hope to catch the others soon.
