Why would a new player need a powerscroll, if they're new they're not going to be power training any skills to the cap because they firstly wouldn't know how and secondly wouldn't have the money to.

There is a huge gap between being a new player and needing a powerscroll.

Thing is, that it does not take much time to train a skill up to 100.0.

Therefore, as I see it, it will not be much time before a new player needs to start looking for a 105 or 110 which, with the current status of things, after scrolls of binding, can be a nightmare to be found.

So, having 105s and 110s spawn in Trammel could be a blessing to new players and not change much for experienced players who, anyways, were throwing them to the ground, often, before scrolls of binding, that is.

It sucks to be on the receiving end of a raid, believe me I’ve been there many times so I sympathise with you. That being said, I’ve learned that there are ways to avoid this, the main one being, speed.

If you got raided in the lost lands on a quiet shard then there’s a good chance you were too slow.

Again though, are you missing the fact that you can farm arties/gold/items/replicas in the safety of Tram to get your PS? Is this something that people can’t grasp, or are you just choosing not to consider it as an option?

Do some spawns in Ilsh till you get some nice replicas…sell them…pay for powerscrolls needed… Easy.

Or, continue to spawn in fel but improve your technique, recruit a few more bodies and get in and out before the reds even know your there…

That’s really your two options.

Option 3 where we just tramelise powerscrolls like every single other aspect of the game isn’t available. Sorry.

Somethings you need to consider, not all players want to buy things, they like to get the items/skills/experience for themselves. They like seeing it pop in there pack and going NICE that's the scroll/artie I was looking for, and yes they even enjoy the DAMN what a junk scroll/artie.

If you haven't noticed a lot of trammel players do not like to buy things and are goal orientated, compared to thrill orientated such as Fel players.

Now take myself, I can PVP, I have the skill, I have equipment and game knowledge to do it properly and most importantly I don't care when I die. If we met in Fel 1vs1 you would have a blast fighting with me, unfortunately I do not have the desire to kill other players.

Now for the speed aspect of the game, I don't know if you noticed but a lot of Tram players are not that quick with game mechanics and play. Some don't care to learn all the aspects to make things faster others can not, it might be disabilities or a number of things. So for Tram players to get together and defeat a raid its almost impossible.

Next choice is to join up with a Fel/raid guild and get them that way. Well do you realize that a lot of Tram players do not like those kind of people, so its kind of impossible to get along, and going back to my own feelings, I just do not enjoy killing other players. Fighting I don't mind it. Its my nature and nothing I can do about it.

The idea of putting 6 minor scrolls in a Tram spawn is not going to effect anything for it will take along time to get the ones they need to make what they want. Its no big deal, and the low chance drop of a replica hasn't worked in keeping those champ spawns active. Which in turn does not train people on how to do things and want to venture to Fel.

Once more this morning on Drachenfels, I popped Rikktor when an american guild (or so they said, they couldn't spell even their name right, go figure....) popped in and stole the boss.

I'm REALLY tired of being jumped when I spawn the boss and it doesn't matter if I'm alone or with the whooping 3 people in my guild, we do not stand a chance, there is NO PvP, it's plain stealing, period.

This is a game and you have to play it to win, easy mode is available, they can sit in tram, farm and generate enough gold to buy scrolls. If they want the pleasure of seeing the scrolls drop in their pack, as you have inferred in your point above, then they will need to step out of their comfort zone.

Replicas are nice, but the slim chance of getting one puts people off doing a spawn. It does take quite a bit of work in Ilsh with paragons etc and Oaks is quite time consuming at the best of times.

Depending on your shard, you don't have to buy the scrolls from a raiding guild. I'm pretty sure, depending on the shard of course, that there are other vendors selling powerscrolls that didn't come from a raid.

There is always something Tram guilds could trade to get powerscrolls.... you could trade gold, arties, crafter services, etc to get scrolls. This has already been said over and over again. I dont have any issues whatsoever trading a 120 that someone is looking for for something from a peerless, so why is it such an issue to have it the other way around?

Tram guilds could also set up something with a Fel guild. Say Fel guild "protects" them while they spawn. The Tram guild gives the Fel guild something in return. Could be a cut of the scrolls, could be skulls from the champs, etc.
There's always something that could be worked out.
Or you go hide yourself in T2A or a dungeon and take the risk of being raided and losing the spawn to the same guild who could be protecting you instead.

Powerscrolls and a couple Fel ML bosses are all we really get in Fel anyway, why take that away from those of us who prefer to play in Fel?

To be honest, if they take that away from Fel, then it needs to be fixed so that players who join factions just to use the arties in Tram, get those taken away.

Actually EoO, there is another way even if you do get raided to keep the scrolls, even if they do kill the champ. Its worked for me twice on other shards I am on and am sure its not a glitch, but you still get some of the scrolls. Worked for me solo.

Two necro-mages and one dexxer can take out a Barracoon in under 30 minits [start of spawn to champ dropping--on toons NOT scrolled to 120 either] There are over a dozen champ alters in the lost lands that could be the ratman champ when popped.

there indeed should be a reason to be in fel in the 1rst place,,,the powerscrolls ARE that reason [that whole risk vs reward thingy]
and if the only reason for the trammy to go to fel is removed then pvp in UO would become as pointless as the Yew gate fighting
Factions in theory was made to give some sort of `meaning` to pvp but in practice most guilds [including my own] lost complete interest in holding a town/sigils after they get their faction warhorses.

I didnt say have the Fel guild spawn with the Tram guild.. I said have the Fel guild protect the Tram guild and yes it does work. Yes, it takes a little bit more patience and it can give you a headache if done wrong, but once you figure it out, its easy as pie.
Its not impossible is all I'm saying and if the Tram guild wants scrolls bad enough and the Fel guild needs the skulls bad enough, I am sure the two of them could figure it out.

The only time it would become an issue is when area effects are used. Then its just a matter of knowing what to do.

Pap's wonderful post, you put into words what I was thinking for the most part and did it much better than I could. The only thing I would do differently is 105 and 110 from tram. I think that is fair for trammies. And the 120 and 115 coming from fel would make things better on fel. Also helping fel would be to up the percent of replicas dropping by like 3-5%.

And if the only thing keeping Fel and therefore pvp alive is preying on Trammies who like you said cant or dont pvp, then there is a problem. One would think you would want a real challenge. Its like Tyson only wanting to fight low end minor featherweight class.

Which are?

Well, for one.. when you die, come back .. dont go right to the alter or anything, but come back to the area. If you are within a certain range you will get the scrolls dropped in your pack.
You just need to be fast about rezzing and getting back to the spawn before the champ drops.
If you did the majority of the damage to the champ, you will end up with some of the scrolls, atleast, if not all of them.
You can use a mage and invis in the vacinity or you could come back on a stealther.

Just be prepared to run, cause when the scrolls dont drop in the raiders packs they will come looking for you. Its actually quite funny when they end up with nothing and run around all over the place looking for you and cant find you

Also, the other way to get your scrolls, is have a protector that has stealth and hiding. Have them hide in the area, just not right at the alter. If you get raided at the end of the spawn or in the middle of the spawn, atleast your protector will get some scrolls. Just have to becareful not to get caught and either stealth the scrolls out without being seen or sit there and wait till the raiders give up and leave.


**Edit** You could always go the other route and camp the starroom with a bunch of necros, field the hell out of it, wait for the raiders to come through the gate and wither the crap out them and then loot the scrolls of their corpses lol

Well,,i`m not saying that random trammys in fel are whats keeping PVP alive,,,,i think that would be best a topic on a new thread.Indeed on Atl shard if your wanting to find a fast fight,,,yew gate or despise champ is where you go to. There are several people whom play either exclusively or almost exclusively for PVP either solo or group,and no not all of these people go after the easy kills or obvious trammys.Givin i think the Atl shard has a lot of problems regarding pvp in general [speedhacks,pot thorwing/chugging scripts/uninsure enemys items hax,faction-non faction alliances] and the common chit talking of many fellies really does keep more people away from PVP just your avg PVP`er cant see the forest for the trees in that regards.

It takes 12 110s to make a 115 and then 10 115s to make a 120.. but my point is, if you can get the 110's in Tram, there are people out there who have the time to chain spawn all day and all night and some guilds are big enough to have people doing this 24/7.

Just an example and maybe I was just having a good day, but a few days ago I did 3 rat spawns with a guildie and got a total of 4 110 tactics scrolls. Sometimes, you get doubles which I never understood, but it happens.
So say the RNG is in my favor and I get the other 8 110s in the next few days or my guildies do and in about a week I have a 115 Tactics and then imagine if everyone was getting these all night and day in Tram.

So you combine all your 115s into 120s... yeah it would take a lil while, but its still bad.

EoO, yep thats exactly what I was talkin about, quite funny actually isint it? Especially when you get a 120 magery and throw it in their face in Luna "Yea you raided and killed me but I stealthed back, heres what I got, thanks!"

I doubt 110 being in tram would hurt anything that much. The people that do fel champs now would probably still do it. I know my guild will. So saying the market would die isint accurate and its not like all guilds everywhere would be farming tram champs. Sure maybe at first, but I will bet they get tired of it within the first two weeks to a month and move on. Just like peerless.

In that case I don't think it really matters if 110s are in tram or not. It would take so long for anyone to make a 120 from 110s it wouldn't effect the price of 120s adversely i don't think.

*shrugs* I think hardcore powergamers would definitely take advantage of the situation and we would start seeing more 120s then we need to.
As it is I can find 120s on alot of vendors on the larger shards that just sit there. The hard one is Magery. That seems to be the rarest one.
