Google the Wikipedia page for "griefing". You won't be disappointed. I laughed when I ran across it.
That page is hilarious! The one it links to called "Wikipedia is an MMORPG" is fantastic also :)

There will not be another flavor of Siege, the dev's complain enough about hvong to support two cleints and two rulesets.

There will also never EVER be a retro/legacy/pre-Pub 16 shard, so stop MF'n asking.

Use what we have or ask for improvements to what we have, but quit the delusional pie-in-the-sky wishes. UO has five dev's. Five. (At least two of which don't code...)

So you would agree the classic client is holding UO back from implementing new and updated concepts?

The sad part is the 3rd party clients are infinitely better than the classic UO client.
UO assist could be good but it was nerfed for almost 16 years and rarely improved upon.

1. No general chat while in Fel.
2. Get rid of this mentality.
someone using which ever latest program almost sticks them in God mode...
Had a huge long rant about it, but figured it would derail the thread. This is the biggest roadblock to people actually participating in pvp is the proliferation of the concept that 3rd party programs are more important than gear, template, skill, consumables and every other possible legal resource you can use. And as much as you hear about it on the boards and in general chat, it must be true :rolleyes2:. Can't consider yourself a competent pvper if everyone doesn't call you a cheater, don't you know.

3. Pixel Crack based PvP Rewards. Mounts, Colored Cloths, House Deco, the VvV reward system should be as jam packed as the cleanup reward list. Things that are nice and shiny.

Anyone who spent a some amount of time in PvP knows about the three cheat programs. One starts with O, the other starts with R and the most popular one starts with E.

Anyone who spent significant amount of time in PvP also knows that those three programs are popular among dexers mostly because they don't have to pick when to heal and when to attack. Basically, the moment they have less than perfect hp, it makes sense to start a bandage while swinging away at the opponents. The 2 actions are independent from each other and can be done at the same time.

As a mage, a player has to pick when to heal and when to attack. If I have 20 hp left and the opponent has 10, I won't heal but will poison/harm/magic arrow to prevent the other guy from getting off a heal. Those kind of decisions can't be made by scripts, if statements etc. Things get more complicated with mana management when MR is capped at 2 per item. That's the old-school mage duel.

With the introduction of pots, apple, food etc, the scripts/programs find their way onto the mages with auto disarm/chug. The counter for that is dry loot in long harrower battles.

There used to be some honor among PvPer even after AOS. Some old school PvPers remember wand mages period. A user goes by the name DoOm, for example, he can run and wand ppl to death. They don't get much respect among the PvPers. Some players such as Alter Ego, bud etc are universally hated but no one would deny their skills. Then there are certain speed hacking PvPers who I wouldn't waste my time on. To PvPers, there are difference between those example. To blue trammies, they are all the same speed hack cheaters.

In general, it takes a different character to PvP. Most ppl can't cut it since they are too emotionally attached to their game characters. They get killed = the other hacks/cheats. They don't accept that maybe they were just out skilled. I hate it when a GD can cast and kill me from 2 screens away much more than another player well-timed poison spell does the same thing.

I don't think there's anything that can bring a PvM player to PvP. That's something they have to find within themselves to do.

Ya the third party programs need to be eliminated but we all know this isn't going to happen and the entry level curve needs fix once again this isn't going to happen

Me personally could care less about the gen chat I use discord now and even if I didn't and when I didn't I could care less what people are saying or think about me, I realize I have a lot of short comings do they ?

Even here at stratics I get backhanded slaps all the time I've been told I'm not intelligent, ignorant slow learner and many other things here. My opinion is they most not have anything to add to the conversation because they have lowered there standards to immature name calling and insults. This will in know way stop me from trying to be part of this great community here at stratics.

There will always be a few bad apples anywhere you go..... let it go and be happy !

Pretty much I would Just make a EC only area and force people who want to do battle grounds to use EC, you can control more and eliminate the 3rd party programs for the time being. If people want to pvp on CC they can still fight in Yew or dungeons but the new lure will be battle and arenas only playable on EC. People will not like this at first but as the pvp population grows more people will switch over. If you want to hunt and pvm you still still do that on CC,

As much as I hate it, I feel its the best way to start all over and give everyone a level playing field.

I get what you are saying and I am not saying every PvP'er out there is using one program or another.. but you can't deny there are programs that give a nice little edge to the ones using it. I mean I gave that stuff up once HAX was on Atl... and have not thought twice about it until the Devs put a stop to it.

That is not true, I just do not think they have the ability to control classic client. its a very very old system. If they could police it they would.

But in the twenty years they have never been able to control a thing.

Unless the graphics are changed, many players will quit if forced into using the EC
I dont think anyone is being forced to use EC, simply we are putting a pvp system in place and you can only get to that content if in EC.. Everything else is still accessible through CC.

I'm telling you this will get rid of programs and a new learning curve can be developed where everyone is on an even playing field. It sounds crazy but, i think they would be able to cross server pvp and do a lot of really really nice things that are holding them back..

What you are doing is just making EC better for PvPers, not taking anything away from anyone. just making one part of the game stronger. And from UOs perspective its a win.

EC would answer everyone of your problems here, and isolate all your objections. @Mesanna, If you want an ideas just keep following this post.

I played choas and orders, Minax fractions, for a few years, then quitted the so call PvP. I do not use 3rd party programs, so, I obviously stood no chance to win.

Talking about how to attract me to play the PvP again, I would like adding something like the rez system of shadowguards. If I am blue, and killed by another player, my ghost and corpse, including all the cursed scrolls, items, will be teleported to a non-Fel shrine or place. So, my blue toon lose nothing, and I will instantly rez myself. This will relieve my feeling of being a victim, and it gives me great convenience.

Should not have Fel in the first place. For consensual pvp, have a specific city or dungeon setup for the purpose. For rewards, maybe the TOP guild in the pvp ranking get to enjoy the town buffs... and not the way we get them these days by just paying to be citizens. And TOP pvp players scored in the area with say 6 consecutive months in the 1st rank gets a special gear (like vvv stuff, boosted arties BUT not antique) that is really useful and only he can wear.

This would have been the third point of my original post, but I didn't want to start a "CC versus EC" flame war since it can never be discussed in a reasonable manner.

But yes... CC and it's ability to allow "hacks" by way of third party programs is another problem with PVP.

I don't want to start an EC vs CC flame war either, but know I think if I am not in the majority I am in the half of people who like CC graphics.

To me the EC looks like jossled horse manure, with a big foot print in it.

That being said I did like the suggestion that new pvp environments should be EC only if and ONLY if it would legitimately curb the hacking. I am of the understanding there are hacks for it as well but just leave my pixelated CC madness alone

if you force people onto the EC they will just develop cheats to use with it. It's not a good solution.

There are only two outcomes if this were to take place.

Either.
#1) UO dies, because of more segregation
#2) More Programs (hacks) would be developed by third-party programmers

Leading back to the same exact problem again. except in addition to that, you lose the people that despise the EC.

Yeah I think that should only be considered if it will honestly help remove some portion of cheating. People are always gonna have one up on the hacking and scripting if they get despondent enough after manually drinking a pot or eating an apple.

The only solution is take the whole system... download.jpg

I started just after T2A release. I wasn't a huge fan of PvP even then but if needed I would do my best to keep dirtnaps to a minimum. When Ren was released I moved to Tram and have not looked back. On the couple FS I played years ago, my ability to eat dirt became a regular habit and I simply stayed on with EA/UO.

Soooo, in short ... nothing could entice me to PvP. I am just not suited to it and simply don't have the time to invest in gearing up. Good luck though!

They have chess and checkers boards, I could go a few rounds on that. They should have an ingame card game too. Spent a lot of nights gambling on Atlantic.. Many millions made and lost at the Golden Fang Casino. That IS some exciting pvp. One night I stacked like 25 mil in the floor with a ton of other people sitting around, none got stolen, was pretty decent group of people.

Also, chicken lizard battles. Me and Kylie duked it out there and mine died. I think he scored a few mil off it. Thats been a few years. There are strange ways to pvp in UO, some less costly than others. But card games would be a good pvp thing.

PVP poker in a haunted style house.. If anybody gets caught cheating blow his head off with the latest and greatest xbow hot off the fletcher's tools. Old West style. Could have sherrif monitoring and all. That would be nice.

I have made many, many good suggestions in the past. The vast majority of them have been ignored, and the handful that even were implemented were either butchered (like the refinement system did to my making non-medable armor better suggestion) or they implemented my suggestions several years too late (sdi cap increase, nerf to archers, nerf of wakis, etc.). I cried for years that they were making dexxers/archers too OP, and rather than balancing it at the time, they waited for everyone to adapt (playing with parry), and then nerfed them to absolute ****. The stuff that I realize at the time, they don't realize until three years later. They just nerfed Armor Ignores on ranged weapons to 30 damage, NOW. NOW that everyone has chars with HPR, eaters, bushido, parry, 4/6 chiv, etc. they find it necessary to nerf ARMOR IGNORE instead of the base damage on bows. Meanwhile on an AOS based free server (that is stealing all of UO's last remaining loyal pvp'ers), where people DON'T have all of that defensive stuff, armor ignores are still capped at 35, and 45 for 2 handed weapons. I would love if this was some kind of democratic process where I could run for office, state the changes I wanted to make, and let the people vote; but that's not going to happen. Broadsword thinks they know what's best for UO, the same way SOE new what was best for SWG.

I'm not even going to bother making suggestions here. I've repeated myself far too many times. If Messanna and the rest of broadsword thinks they know better than players like me what's good for pvp, then God help UO.

It seems they like to create, let us adapt to it, then trash it... waste of our time invested in anything that we enjoy, because someone will complain after x years and they will suddenly remove it or make it worthless.

Please note the following is only under the condition that the client be updated and that the CC be retired completely. Otherwise, there's nothing that would ever bring me fully back to PvP in UO.

The only thing that would bring me (fully) back into PvP is going back to most of how the system worked in 1997. When killing someone in "cold blood" had MAJOR impacts on the character and people didn't have easy-mode ways to clear murder counts. Either that, or if PvP went into some form of arena style combat - 5v5, 3v3, 1v1 and there were rankings. You could also get points for doing well in the arenas similar to the "Clean up Brit" points - which could then be spent on PvP specific items/artifacts/decorations.

Right now the only reason to PvP is for bragging rights and **** talking. Which I find to be one of the most annoying and off-putting aspects of UO. In fact - it may be the reason I don't resubscribe my two accounts at the end of this month. :/

Has anyone ever actually taken a look at Broadsword's "About Us" page? Lol. What a joke.

"These values are core to our primary focus - create games with passionate communities."
Even though UO and DAOC are the only games they "Create." Games that are 20 and 16 years old respectively.

"We believe in quality in our games, quality in our workplace and quality in our talent. We spend the time and resources to ensure every addition to our products is polished, tested, iterated and smoothly launched to our community. We won't rush out changes and definitely won't release something that hasn't been iterated with our community beforehand."
Well this is a rather ironic thing to say... How many bugs did this last publish have again?

"We've invested in a great office with plenty of open space in a great town filled with history, parks, eateries and pubs. We're not in a huge, faceless building surrounded by government contractors lacking character and soul. We only hire the best talent with a passion for our products and our communities."
W....T....F.......

lol? So Government Contractors don't have souls? lol... Not that this is relevant to the quality of games that they "make" at ALL... but their office is located just outside of Washington DC... They literally have a map of it on the same page, just under this. Well... I guess it's good to know they're not in a "huge faceless building, surrounded by government contractors lacking character and soul", but unfortunately their heads are still up their asses.

"We are transparent internally and externally about our games. We strive for smooth communication with our communities about events, changes, tweaks, additions, and improvements to our products. We'll always err on the side of more versus less.
"Transparent"? "Smooth communication"? Haha. When does this happen? With DAOC maybe?

We're also transparent internally and share our metrics, analytics, financials, feedback and roadmaps with everyone in the company to foster collaboration in our decision making."
Wtf? Lol. I'm the guy that everyone makes fun of for being like Zack Galifianakis in the hangover scene at the casino, and even when I read this, I think to myself "Wtf...?". What metrics and analytics did they use when they decided to make pets the way they did, or nerf archers to non-existence? They develop two games, UO and DAOC, and when they write the publish notes they can't even get their grammar right, let alone accurately articulate the changes they make in a way that is clear and "transparent."

"We won't stretch ourselves too thin"
Lol. They develop two dead games, UO and DAOC with a 23 man team, and when you submit a help request in game, it takes two weeks to get a response.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous lol. And before people report this post for "trolling," I'm not trolling. This is constructive criticism. The biggest problem is that Broadsword doesn't realize there's a problem. The UO community needs to give Broadsword an intervention. I'm a long-time fan of this game, and it's current state deeply concerns me. I would describe the recent movement of long time OSI loyal pvp'ers to free shards nothing less than an "Exodus." Broadsword needs to get it's act together, or this is going to be the final act.

I haven't done normal pvp in many, many years outside of spontaneous encounters while in Fel for other reasons.

What turns me off is the cheating and having zero drive to do it. When I was rping, I had a reason to train, get better, defend an area. etc. Normal PvP, I don't have that drive. I suppose there are people who do it for the gold, but I could make more other ways and scrolls aren't a guaranteed thing. I think you need that genuine passion of pvp and the adrenaline to find it attractive.

I just don't find it in itself enjoyable. I don't care about bragging rights. I enjoyed the rp pvp because I had an rp reason. It isn't that I am scared of dying, etc... I just have a finite amount of time to play and spending it dying over and over for scrolls or bragging rights really is a waste of that time.

I was going to post something, but what's the point? Short answer, there's nothing that could induce me to put the time and effort and RL money into building PvP characters. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
I think this sums it up for a lot of people, they just have no interest in it and can do without the stress! It simply wouldn't be my idea of fun and that's the only reason to keep playing.

However when you refuse to use cheats, refuse to use speeders, can't afford the top of the line latest and greatest computer and live in BFE where the internet service providers think that 50mb service is "super high speed" ..... it isn't too likely that you are going to be a success at it...

Not everyone playing UO lives in a big city with dozens of options and choices...

Some of us live in really rural area's...

There in lies another problem. Rob Denton couldn't care less about UO beyond the contract with EA. Anything directed to him about UO gets either ignored, forwarded to Mesanna, or you're told to address it to Mesanna. Hopefully he'll be at the 20th Anny Party, and the people who show up will be willing to tell him exactly how they feel.

I just wanted to say this. You can't stop people from cheating. That has never been the answer. The answer is to deliberately design game speed so that regular players have a chance. EA has never hired anyone with this perspective. The dev teams from EVERY year always give up. Even more so with all the equipment. You literally need devs who do not cater to this group or that group and just design the entire system to make cheating not that helpful.

I have said this many times; If you allow people to 'spam' anything - cheaters or people with superior connections etc will use this to KILL YOU. Its very simple. This means potions, changing equipment in mid horse stride (absurd), perfectly synchronizing 'twitch' techniques to auto kill your butt. What do you think they can do about that? Ban them all? HAHAHA no. They can't and they won't.

This all comes down to controlling the PACE of pvp combat. This is very very doable. There are ways to severely limit the 'techno spam' as I like to call it in pvp. I have not seen the will to do it or even understand it by ANY development team fully. Although it used to be a little bit better in small periods here and there. Even when Dev teams did have people that understood pvp - they were always marginalized by 'Item Hoarders' and their cohorts. No wonder pvp isn't what it should be. Maybe if mounts always ran out of stamina and there was no easy way to refill it via instant technique or anything. Maybe if scripters could make everything automatic but because of game design innovation their 'speed' didn't matter because the pace of pvp was slowed enough to where any player could still compete without needing a 'several step' macro or script - now there is a decent chance. This all comes down to WILL. Where there is a will there is a way.

IMO the devs have NEVER cared about pvp. Most of them are asked to 'add more features' as the way to 'fix' things. No wonder it never gets 'fixed'. You can't fix pvp that way. Its almost a development STYLE that is at issue - not necessarily Broadsword or any specific group. Again, slow down the 'easy movement, equipment changing, pot chugging, transition macros, precisely targeting people with bombs etc' and there might be hope. If on the other hand its going to be who can spam the quickest 'kill' switch - YOU LOSE. So so simple, yet people want to make it about this skill or that skill. They are worried about the speck of dirt instead of the big tree stump in their path.

I believe UOx if I am remembering right was going to deal with a lot of what you mention here and EA threw it on the scrap bin for whatever reason.

lets keep this on topic.

So far I have,
Remove Gen Chat(me and a few others)
Give a valid reason to pvp
Remove CC
Single PvP shard with Insurance
Cross Realm pvp

so this would make you interested in pvping?
)

None of the above would make me interested in pvp.
Removal of Gen Chat would limit the finding of people and items and would just cause everything to be bunched up in another channel. I am not in favor of a pm system...that would just be too much typing chatter to deal with in game. Multiple pm along with guild chat (if I was in a guild), add alliance chat, party and channel chats. No thank you!! Not to be harsh but if you don't like Gen Chat, make your own pvp channel and try to entice people to visit when they want pvp. BUT then again you would have to deal with the very people you are trying to avoid. So embrace the ignore, it will enhance your gaming experience.

A valid reason ... would be another thing to see if you could do it. Reasons are kind of subjective.

Remove CC - can't do EC makes me "sea sick".

Single PvP shard with insurance - that imho is pointless, we have Siege it should be used if people want a pvp shard. Yes I've pvped way in the past and yes I've played Siege. Back in the day there were many guilds and it was fun pvp. Now it's dead, move there help to get it going if a pvp shard is "the only way". I also still have a char on Siege, but along with the deadness of the shard and other reasons I won't get into (don't want to start a riot) I seldom visit there.

Cross Realm pvp - before I say no, how exactly would that work? Copy your char to a "pvp shard" like test? Again I would listen to options before deciding.

The main factor for me as Merlin stated is economy. The ability to be competitive would be an enticement. I consider myself a casual player now. Lack of competitive items would be my issue. Connection issues at times plague me but pfft I wouldn't care really about dying if the connection crapped out. Cheats, hacks, add ons...whatever you want to call them I don't use them so yes that would be an issue in competitiveness. I don't ever see those going away at this point in the game, so you learn to pick your battles. I do go to the occasional fel idoc, but do not pvp while there. I usually stealth around, see what I can get and am amazed if I get out with a couple of items alive! Pets are now an asset in pvp but with the crying going on about that a nerf may be in the future. I could use a pet for pvp, provided I could acquire the scrolls to make the pet viable with the other pvp pets. Trash talking in gen chat does get tiresome at times. *shrugs* I've been known to type a lot in gen chat with completely no purpose, so let them have their fun. Yesterday in gen chat was an example of that. We were being completely silly. The usual pvp crew that occupies chat with their "banter" didn't get involved. If the trash talk gets personal? How did they get any accurate personal info? If you don't want it to come back to haunt you, don't don't type it. Trash talking by other pvpers if they kill you? Come on get over yourself, don't have thin skin, don't engage and move on, embrace the ignore!!

1) A lower barrier to entry in terms of costs is the most important area of PVP that needs to be overcome if you want to attract more players. After the global loot changes and the rise of the 'uber suit', it became increasingly more and more difficult for lower tier players to partake and have any chance of being competitive. This cost is more than just the gold spent on a suit, but the amount of time that goes into building an uber suit around a very specific template. It's simply not going to attract casual players to PVP and those casual players will then never have the opportunity to be a more serious advanced PVP players.

The problem here is the economy is too far deep into "global loot changes" to roll this back and make any sort of adjustment. However, I see no way to change the top tier of 25 or 30 people that have several characters decked out in multi-platinum suits. They're simply going to wreck EVERYONE ALWAYS. That makes it no fun for the other people on the 'come-up' who are trying to work their way up the ladder. The gap between the bottom and top needs to be tightened some how.

2) The other concern for me currently is the 'general attitude' of other PVPers. By all means, I can appreciate a little smack talk... and I understand there are other games which are FAR worse than UO... but it seems now like every raid or PVP instance is followed up with out right disrespectful trolling and griefing. I have pretty thick skin, but I'm not going to participate in something that 95% of the time turns into a personal insult war. The honor and chivalry of a good fight have waned significantly over the past five years...

Sadly, its the same few bad eggs that seem to ruin the fun for much of the community, because I do know there are plenty of folks who love to PVP but don't act like a total jerks about it. However... this also inadvertently relates to one of the issues I brought up in point #1: I would be more inclined to spend the amount of time to work out the precise calculations of a suit and template if the activity I was doing it for was more fun. It's a catch 22.

_______________

I'm aware that it's easier to identify a problem than to come up with a solution and those two points above are very broad based and difficult to over come. I think any potential solutions need to keep those points in mind if they're even going to make a dent into breathing some fresh air back into PVP.
I used to pvp a lot before Age of Shadows was released, and tried to start doing it again 2 or 3 years ago as well. I was decent at it still and could have continued, but the main things that killed all the fun for me were:

Everyone uses cheats, and I choose not to. I was still able to kill those using cheats about 20% of the time just by lucky shots and good timing, but I noticed there is no longer much legitimate skill in modern pvp. The competition these days is who can program a better script, not who can build and use the best character. Winning with lucky shots wasn't fun to me, anyone can get lucky a few times, the fun of pvp was getting to the point where you can win most of the time purely based on your own skill level.

There is no friendliness in pvp anymore. Trashtalking has always existed of course, but in the old days everyone knew it was just light-hearted randomness and everyone went back to being civilized afterwards. These days from the minute two people see each other the flood of insults and hate speech begins and does not end until someone logs out. There is no more "oh hey good fight man that was fun!" instead it's turned into "you suck, I hate you, jump off a building, choke on a slice of pizza and die you (insert personal attack of the day here)" etc.

The goal of pvp no longer seems to be the excitement of fighting. Instead it is now a competition to see who can make the other person sad or angry first, by any means necessary. It doesn't always end when one person logs out either, if someone rage logs, their enemy will sometimes log into the voice chat room they know the person is in just to continue insulting them. That does not create a fun atmosphere, it just makes the whole pvp community look toxic.
:postcount: x 2
These two posts sum it up very well, I personally have nothing against PvP'ers other then the bad language and when I get ganked by one lol :(. I enjoy t-hunting, being a merchant and collecting rares these days... that's enough of a multi platinum hobby for me hehe :D

What would make you participate in pvp?
Let pets do double damage to players.

Dismounted players should not be able to remount for at least 1 minute.

Remove all "tricks" used by players to break paralyze spell.

Let WoD (cast by pets only) work on players.

I think that would do it.

So This is a post for all people who currently do not pvp..

I have currently taken a break from PVP due to the lack of competition. It seems I am fighting the same two or three guilds constantly and over two or three months it just lost its appeal.

It brings me to my questions:

What would make you participate in pvp?

I will start off.

Gen Chat should be removed from UO. We should goto a PM System. Or town based chat system.

General Chat has taken the fun out of pvp. **** talking is fine on screen but someone spamming about your life is another story (I for one done this very many times to people) . People subconsciously will avoid pvp to not deal with trolls. A Normal person just wants to have fun and not be constantly reminded of him dying two or three days ago. Gen Chat allows this.

I would love to hear others feedback on what would lure them into pvp and maybe we can develop a win win situation.. I do feel when the game is active with pvp content it helps boost the pvm economy so we all have something to gain here.
Probably nothing honestly. I just don't really like pvp in this game. It's not a matter of it not being rewarding enough, or some aspect that being lacking, I just don't enjoy it. I pvp in other games when I feel like pvping.

Here's my perspective. I PvPed when I was younger in UO and other games. Nowdays I don't. It's not because of some aspect of mechanic or balance, or risk vs. reward. It's simply because PvP demands a lot more commitment and attention than I am willing to give. I have a demanding job. I have family and other commitments. When I get home tired and fire up UO, I want to relax, not pwn somebody. PvM is the right level of challenge and excitement for me at this stage of my life. If I were forced to PvP, I would simply move on to a game that does not require me to do it.

Balance across the board is the only effective way to fix pvp. If that happens Ill pvp more often again. its really that simple.

Absolutely nothing. Had my fill a long time ago, thanks. There's really no point to UO PVP...you're not fighting for the kingdom, there aren't objectives worth winning, you can't achieve any lasting outcome. Everyone is a whiny little jerk, troll, or bully...sportsmanship, honor, and fair play are lacking.

What I've found though, is there are games that deal with PVP a lot better than UO and if I want to PVP I go play a different game. UO PVP is not nearly brutal or painful enough...in Lord of Ultima we could burn people out of their castles and take all their goods...now that is fun. In Minecraft you can tear down their base in factions and steal them blind...while becoming a top guild in the process and ruling your server. Again, UO's PVP is a pointless slapping match for troll dolls. At least in Eve Online you can take over a rival's corporation...and do some truly nefarious stuff...here nothing but picking up scrolls, and insurance money...how boring. Many of my old PK friends turn up in games like Eve Online, where PVP has some point to it and why many of us are looking forward to the release of Crowfall, and other new games.

In addition to the boredom you have the clunky interface, cheating, ganking, and pointlessness of it all. In all, reap what you sow. If you troll, gank, cheat, and whine soon that's all you will have in your community to PVP with. The rest of us will do what we find fun in UO or go play something else.
