im trying this ui out but the menu bar at the bottom is missing.. the one that has the quests, and guild and chat and map..

cant find an option to show it?
It has been done away with now you create a hot bar and go into the actions menu and there are several new tabs in there such as skills etc that you can drag into the hot bar and customize the bar to have what you want on it!

ok i found that, but the round map is missing? only the larger square one shows up when i click map.

If you read up a bit you'll see that I was similarly perplexed, Aaron. You build that bar yourself in this version to make it what you want.

Create an empty hotbar. Hit the escape key. Select Actions, and you will find all those things previously contained on that default selection bar. Choose the ones you really wanted (skills, guild, virtues - if you're into that - chat and so forth) and drag them to the hotbar you created.

Presto!

Oops....cross posted with the same fellow who helped me last night.

Alas, there is no circular map in this one. You bring up the map, zoom it in to the level you want, resize and use the scaling option (under Options I believe) to further shrink it. Problem is it rescales all the UI hotbars, paperdoll, backpack and such.

Thus far it's been the deal breaker for me and I've returned to the Lucius UI for now, but I am very much in the minority here. I have the Pinco UI set up for some of my characters and will be using them in the hope that I'll be able to adjust to this limitation. There's a limit on how small you can make that map and still be able to to use the hotbar if you run UO in HD and have the map open all the time.

just wondering why i wasnt finding that circle map lol..

i love this ui.. alot of the options are needed.
i like the colored look of copper_enhaced tho.. so im torn.

So someone Tell me please what the latest version is that has the circular map. I need it and the atlas is no replacement in my opinion.

I love the ui for the fact how much classic look and feel it provides. I use the atlas for sailing only and to be honest, it looks ugly as hell but that's not pinco's fault. It's just the atlas.

Keep up the good work but please consider bringing back this minimap.

Well to be honest I am not sure! But I do know there is a cartographer button in the action menu but I am not sure how it works as I have not used it yet !

I will take a look at it and see if i can figure it out tommorrow if pinco or someone else has not helped you out !

Is there an option to have the client display spell names rather than the faux Latin made-up names? This is a feature of Lucitus that I've grown rather attached to as Corp Por makes no sense whereas what is being cast is an Energy Bolt. Actually that's a poor example as Corp Por has become part of the MMO lexicon and you can even buy Corp Por tee shirts, but you get the idea. Kal Des Flam Yiem or however it's spelled would be a better example.
User Settings -> Pinco's UI -> Enable Overhead Spell Names

Where did total points go on the skills dialog? Did I lose it through rescaling? It's rather useful knowing how many skill points you have left.

in the actions -> pinco's ui, you can find "Toggle UO Cartographer" for enable/disable it...

I did as you suggested, actually, Pinco, or thought I did. Problem is that, as I said, I run UO on an HD display...what I didn't say was that it's HD on what passes nowadays for a laptop. Even though the contemporary bada-boom-bada-bing laptops would only fit on the laps of people bumped from Southwest Airlines flights, it's still small compared to most HD displays, meaning the letters a very very small. Plus I was confused whether clicking on Disable was meant to enable or clicking on Enable is meant to Disable. Sounds silly of course but clicking on some options toggles them. I think I did too much clicking and not enough casting in this case.

I'll simply try again, doing it twice, knowing that one or the other will work now that I have your kind assurance.

And to use genuine Latin that needs no translation, writing and delivering a readme: sine qua non. The questions posed: res ipsa loquitur :)

What's bedeviling me now is that when I applied the mod to one character all went smoothly. I could drag and drop and rearrange icons on a toolbar just dandy. Clicked on them and they worked. Tried it on another, following the same procedure (fresh hotbar, open Actions, drop icons into fresh bar) and the icons were frozen in place. They had to be removed and reapplied from the Action menu. Also in the latter instance I had to click on the icons several times to "wake them" into performing their intended function. Both had the same number of active hotbars to begin with. Both were tamer mages, though one employs music and peacemaking. Perhaps in some cases the best strategy is to simply delete the character file and build the character UI from scratch.

Finally this toolbar builder feature you mentioned was not evident when I applied your UI. I downloaded it 48 hours ago from your site. Unfortunately neither the file name nor the readme contained version numbers though I assume it was the current version simply because the EC didn't squawk at me because its version number and yours failed to match. Hardly proof positive I know.

48 hours can make your version old :p
This page is a real time changelog where you can see the current version and what I've done for the next version :)

About the options, the context menu is not definitive... Initially it was placed on the menu bar, then I had to move it into the user settings but I had no time to make a proper checkbox window :p
Now I'm doing that and the next version will be easier to customize :D

eheh the changelog is always the best way to know what's goin on :p

however, I'm working on the settings tab for the next version:
- No more context menu for options
- Everything will have the tooltip text that explain what it does :)

In this manner everyone with the monitor problems like you will be able to read the options and, much more important, everyone will be able to understand what they are doing :D

Your energy and raw enthusiasm for this is rather breathtaking, Pinco. You really should be a game developer; not just for those qualities but for the thickness of your skin when it comes to customers even though they're not paying you for this....though I believe there is a contributions link I hope.

I just installed your mod and love it. Any chance to have stamina added as one of the Diablo style health balls? Also can they be configured so you can move them to another location on the screen? Great job, and Thanks!

well diablo 2 stamina is a little yellow bar and do not worth to add it :p
moving them around I think is doable, but the L shape of the stone became really ugly...

Regarding the scaling option for individual dialog boxes and displays, is there a way to do that without employing a mouse wheel. Ever since Logitech ceased supporting their Orientation feature (as I noted, I use a mouse backwards) I can no longer use mice for gaming and I've not been able to get joysticks to work with UO. What I need to do is make my health bar display larger. With everything scaled optimally HP is hard to see. It's a rather dark red.

you can only change the position of that message, because is a static image, however if you want you can disable it :p

The settings are in the user settings -> customize:
- Centerscreen text position
- Centerscreen text low hp %
- Centerscreen text low hp pet%

unfortunately only the mouse wheel does this job actually... and still I'm looking for an alternative way without add +/- buttons everywhere.

Pinco. Since the last update I can't get my skill tracker to work. It says I have to have my skills in the custom tab and they are.... but it just doesn't track them.

Well, it's not like I don't have a mouse somewhere that I can hook up to this laptop for long enough to scale those windows. Just wanted to make sure before I dug around for one is all.

Forgive me if center screen does not initially make sense to me, but it's a place to begin to puzzle it out. Pity that it's a static image but the goal is always to avoid the need to display it ;)

For some reason that wonderful bit you took from Lucius, the ability to filter what ctrl shift displays, only works some of the time. Then that magic rectangle goes to sleep on me and become immune to mouse clicks. I have to exit and restart the client to wake it up. Not sure if that is a bug really or just a quirk of my system.

Word of Death eh? I was wondering what those spell weaver were up to, constantly asking for skilled weavers to gather at that circle outside W. Brit bank. Makes me pity the less skilled ones...nobody ever asks for their company :(

That's strange... check the scale mode by scaling other gumps, or if the problem is in the texture pack again :p

- Added the "Smart Hotbar Lock System". This system will lock the hotbar where it is without shift it back/up to remove the stone part.
- Added the "Smart Hotbar Snap System". This system allow to snap the hotbars by ignoring the stone part.
- Fixed the skill window that do not show the total skill points and do not shows skills on skill tracker.
- Removed the option "Use Double Click on hotbars".
- Fixed a bug with the mobiles bar, now the mobile limit do not self-decrease anymore.
- Added a tooltip to the quick details window button.
- Removed all the context menus from the user settings.
- Added a new tab to the user settings: Pinco's UI.
 * This new tab contains all the options and customizations doable
 * Every option has a tooltip that describes his function.
Doing the user setting tab with ALL the options inside took me 40 hours, I hope it can be appreciated :)

I think you are right, it's a texture pack issue. I'll just do my scaling without the texture pack and then add it if I need to. I'll post the bug in the Third Dawn thread.

This is on a laptop running WinXP Pro.

I know I'm going to hate myself in the morning for saying this because I'm about to sound like every incompetent dope every one of us has encountered in tech support. Not knocking people who work in tech support, mind you. My first job in gaming was in a support capacity....it's just that....okay <deep breath>

I was having crash problems too and what I did was uninstall and reinstall the client.

Wait, wait, wait...put down that baseball bat a sec..and bear with me.

When you uninstall the client remarkable little is really and truly uninstalled. All the files stored in your documents directory - all your character files and such - stay. If you're worried (and I was) copy and save the user data directory somewhere for insurance.

You will face a long, long, mega patch download though. And it broke half way though in my case and I had to reboot and restart the patcher. I reinstalled the Pinco UI subdirectory prior to running the patcher...not sure why and I doubt it made a difference.

Of course it may have taken longer for all that patching in my case because I'm on crappy DSL and was watching Doctor Who on streaming Netflix while it was downloading something like 1.8GB of stuff.

I've had a smooth time with it since though. My hunch is that doing that was probably a good idea regardless. There are numerous problems with the EC itself and refreshing things by checking that Perform Complete File Check checkbox never solved a one of them the way a the fresh installation did.

found a bug, you cant seem to pull your pets bar of the main mobiles bar.

if you do it snaps right back.
use the white button "extract" to pick a healthbar

- If you enable the tilt map value, it will be saved on log out.
- Added an option able to toggle the Hotbar Menu Maker. The tool will run only on startup.
- Added few more messages to the colored message system.

So the problem is yours, seems the game crash when the reload Ui is called. Try to re-install the game to avoid the problem, (because the reload ui function is inside the client) :(

timer for feint? can be done, but will be reset everytime so you'll have to avoid to feint multiple targets :p

When he says "extract" it's a little white triangle on the health bar. You click on that and you can drag the bar wherever then click again to drop it.

So the problem is yours, seems the game crash when the reload Ui is called. Try to re-install the game to avoid the problem, (because the reload ui function is inside the client) :(
Not so sure about that. I've uninstalled Pinco's UI and reinstalled Copper_Enhanced and I can change and apply settings all day. It never causes my game to crash.

Yes I uninstalled Copper_Enhanced prior to installing Pinco's UI the first time.

I'm still at work. I'll have to give it another try later this morning.

Yes I uninstalled Copper_Enhanced prior to installing Pinco's UI the first time.

I'm still at work. I'll have to give it another try later this morning.
you can also try by opening the debug window and press "reload ui". But there is nothing into the options able to do something like that... is just a bunch of boolean variables that changes values...

Alas, now I too am having client crashes and I removed the previous version prior to installing this one *and* I reinstalled the client from scratch two nights ago.

It's when using the new - and quite nice really - menus during setup. It's not repeatable, happens on Apply, and does not happen a second time when restart and relog to the guy I was configuring. Start a fresh one, though, and same thing: a crash after the first Apply, restart, no problem. Puzzling.

Given that it works out okay eventually I'm not all that bothered by it. The EC is not stable and has more memory leaks than the Bush Administration.

What does bother me about this version though is that that faux stone tab on the left end of hotbars now does not snap into the hotbar to the left of it properly any longer. Rather the stone part intrudes into the adjacent box. It's as if it doesn't know the stone tab is there.

This is not retroactive. Previously aligned and connected hotbars remain as they were. It's just when you try to rearrange them that the tab gets in the mood to conquer its neighbors.

Hooked up a mouse and was able to scale things wonderfully, btw. And the new menu system looks seamlessly congruent with the basic ones, is much more intuitive, has wonderful tooltips, and is now displayed at a size I can see. Yes there are some buttons that say "missing string" with you run your cursor over them (loot bag stuff) but I don't use a loot bag.

Nifty...and now it's slick :)

One question though. What is this Ignore Summons thing all about? I see it on the pet HP warning options and on the mobile filter options.

this is not a bug, is a feature. When you snap a hotbar will ignore the stone part (used only to drag the hotbar itself), so when you lock it, it will perfectly stack on any side. By default you can only stack up and right, if you stack something to the opposite side will leave some space...


Hooked up a mouse and was able to scale things wonderfully, btw. ignore summons is for ignore summons low hp warning if you use the pet's low hp warning :)

When he says "extract" it's a little white triangle on the health bar. You click on that and you can drag the bar wherever then click again to drop it.

yes i figured that out, then about 30 seconds later its back on the mobiles bar.
it only does that with pets.

I'd say you found a bugz. I found one as well. That old bug where when you started to chat for the first time after logging on it would start entering behind the chat prompt is back. Not exactly an earth shattering bug on my part. :)

I'm unable to replicate this problem...
I've tried with 1 pet, 2 pet, guilded, but nothing happen.
The only case where it could happen is when you cross a server line in boat (because is the only case that I've not tested) :p

the chat line bug seems tied to the one that I've fixed in the 3.7p :p
