I so agree with you, particularly the weeding through stuff. I can understand why he's chosen the format he has. And it's not uncommon I don't think either. I'm glad to see it and quite happy to make comments there.

And, to comment on the new city aspect, while I wouldn't necessarily be interested in them creating a new city just for any old reason, I'm very excited to see that they would in this case. Some of the things being discussed/proposed as so different than what we have today and I'd much rather see it tried in a totally new environment rather than having them try to retrofit it into something that is already in place.

The potential of what is being discussed is just making me giddy

but I'm an eternal optomist and don't care what anyone else says. LOL

I think Luc's appearance is the most exciting thing that's happened since the last update WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY back when TSO was fun!

Back on topic... Personally I feel they have given us enough proof of Luc's identity. Lets get over that and move forward to seeing what happens next.

I think its human and very necessary to question ANYTHING on these boards. If not that would make us drones now wouldn't it? I personally don't care if he has a shield by his name or not. Like I said when all this talk is said and done and there is actually action then I'll believe that he or anyone else at TSO cares.

So totally agree! Loving the format, loving the suggestions and very interested in following along and participating.

The suggestions and such aren't getting burried under all of the other stuff which is so great and makes it easier to follow along.

Ooo I can feel the love cant you?.....Its very possible he has been viewing the forums for years now but has not been able or permitted to post anything. The reason for his blog is to get our opinions solidified, not have them scattered throughout millions or archives and forums.

i whine a lot, i do complain a lot, but please, can you try to keep this thread positive? we have someone that IS a developer, and that isnt going to just 'tell the devs what to do'. i'm sure everyone thats posted in this thread is aware what the past year and half has been like, but please, can you try not to complain about it in this thread? thanks.

Dont mock the ounce of joy that others have right now. This could possibly be our last hope, why tarnish it before we even get a feel for it in the first place... thats not fair to those who have been cheering and hoping that a change would be made all along.... The saying is ( refering to sports) When a team has a bad season no one supports them, but when they win the world is behind them. The people who have been behind them threw thick and thin are those who deserve kudos... that goes along with this game as well.

He's asked that posts be posted on the blog. They are moderated or at least filtered before being published, so he's apparently able to weed out any off topic, nonsense or non-productive posts. That seems like a good enough reason to me.

The one post I saw there that would actually be good in the line of Custom Content was Nick's repeating the suggestion we've had for over a year now, Upgradeable Objects. That would actually diversify things so we wouldn't see so many Morrocan beds and those blue chairs everybody has to use because they give 10 Energy and Comfort. I'd really rather not see them waste time on anything else in the line of CC, otherwise whoever that just said it is right, we will just become another SL.

Milton's idea about more job tracks would be cool too, I think alot of us were disappointed when they only came out with the shaman. In the city with the new economy, people could charge for this service like they used to for buffets wayyyyyyy back in the day and people would put up with it there. Try that in a production city now and folks will look at you like you've got 9 heads LOL.

There are over 30,500 people logged into SL as I type this, some might think that is a good ambition to have. Believe me, TSO will never become another SL, there is no real comparison, they are completely different games.

I hope they do seriously give consideration to custom content and at the very least customisable objects. Without something new that keeps the game fresh and ever-changing, no matter how many new cities are opened or new job tracks, the cycle of boredom with doing the same things we've been doing for the past 4 and a half years will continue ...... imho

Don't get me wrong - Luc's blog and ideas are the best thing to happen to TSO in years and I'm really excited about the possibility of someone breathing a breath of fresh air into the game. But to keep it going and really bring ppl back from other games like SL, I believe there have to be some constant and radical changes.

I personally love TSO. Anyone that plays with me knows how much fun I have ingame. My main concern over the game is that it has been 'neglected' for a very long time and the longer the 'neglect' continues the more I fear the game I adore may not be around to enjoy.

Will this new 'blog' lead to positive improvements in the game or is it just an inventory of our wishes?

Will this blog be directly connected to possible ingame improvements in the somewhat near future say the next 6 - 12 months?

This is my idea on how to drain the economy. It seems easier than most others, and more effective. This is my post from the thread "possible ideas to drain the economy" thread.

What I honestly would want is everything erased except for sims and skills. That way it will be a fresh new game, but because it most likely won't go over well with many people. While trying to be realistic and making it as simple and quickly as possible, these are my suggestions.

+ All money is deleted from the economy and all sims start out with an amount of money from 50,000 to 100,000 simoleans. (That amount of money so the TSO economy will have a jump start.)
+ All properties are kept including all objects available in Build Mode.
+ No sims are deleted.
+ All sim's skills are kept. (It's dull enough skilling.)
+ ALL objects are deleted, including crafts and rare pets.
+ ALL first year, second year, and third year anniversary gifts are returned to the owner who it was given to, even if the owner has left the game. That way, no sim will be dominant in the game after the wipe. This will also be good because many sims don't want a money wipe because they sold their Mystic Tree for billions of simoleans. This should solve that issue.
+ All pre-existing canons, gnomes, and simmy's are sold in the catalog at prices over millions of simoleans until they're all sold. (This will also help more sims play in order to get enough simoleans for purchasing them which will also boost the new economy in many ways.)
+ All relationships are kept.
+ All Buy Mode objects are deleted.

I of course will be open for any other kind of wipe done to the game as long as something is done. By doing this I personally believe Maxis will show that they are in control and not the players. Maxis needs to come up with their own ideas and implement them because they know what's best for their game; similar to other online games. I believe many players will hate the wipe at first, but eventually they will be thankful for it because of the renewed challenge. I can also personally guarantee that if there is a wipe Maxis most certainly will be getting quite a few of players returning to the game with a real hardcore goal or mission; including me.

Yes, we've been told that since TSO was not successful that a Sims2 Online is not likely to happen --but Luc put the Sony Home trailer on his blog...perhaps he is trying to tell us something without actually telling us...perhaps Sony's game is similar to what EA is planning for Sims 3?--except that there will be an economy and TSOish game goals as well as the minigames and social aspect. I am not trying to spread rumors, I just made the connection by looking at his blog---did anyone else have this thought?
