I appreciate all the feedback we have gotten on this topic. I would like to say something to those on here that like to throw out names like exploiters, cheaters, hackers - ban their accounts. It is extremely annoying to those of us that work hard in the game and use our brains to come up with solutions to hear crap like this. Everyday I go to work, my job is to come up with solutions to problems and find the most efficient ways to handle processes. This is how we have evolved as human beings. This is why you get to enjoy games like this. Nowadays, it seems more and more that if someone comes up with a great idea they are blasted by their peers for upsetting the status quo. Well, pardon me and the rest like me for using our grey matter to achieve in life and in the game. I shared this issue because beyond anything else, I believe in fair game play. Do I want to make millions in gold and have every uber item? Of course I do, but I do it fairly. I have never cheated, exploited, or scripted. I spend hours upon hours of playing and I act in the game like I do in real life. I try to find the most efficient (legal) ways to do a task and profit from it. There are many more things I have learned since Stygian Abyss launched. I have shared two of them here and plan to continue sharing. But please, do not call the rest of us names simply because you do not think up an idea. That's my rant - as always I appreciate any feedback.
Afraid what is more annoying is people who find things that are in all likelihood not as intended and could be viewed as an exploit, in other words the poster 'doesn't really know but has reported it' or ...... hang on,
didn't 'report it' as in your words, after crysta did, you said..... you were 'waiting' for a dev to pm you ...
Developers, please message me so we can nip this in the bud. I hate having to keep this secret
I mean seriously, if you find something that 'could' be an exploit you are OBLIGED TO REPORT it not sit and wait for a dev to pm you. Rather than do what is supposed to be done and just quietly report to the devs so if it is an exploit they can fix it you don't then after 'not quite' reporting it you come here and 'shout' about it, make out how clever you are, say you have used it a few times now but are now 'too tired' to do more today, go on and on about the 'guesses' that aren't 'right'.
Oh and this is pretty magnanimous of you:
I shared this issue because beyond anything else, I believe in fair game play.
... really?
I didn't see you sharing it, I saw you coming to the boards and saying how in 5 seconds you can kill a peerless type boss but didn't want to cause a "shard wide catastrophe" by letting anyone in on the 'secret' that you 'almost' reported while you were waiting for a dev.
I think if people start to call you names, perhaps they have reason?
Any time you can kill a peerless type boss in 5 seconds solo I would believe any person in their right mind would view this as an unintended situation which should be instantly 'reported' to the devs.
You need to step down off your perch, you thought it was an exploit, hence your begging the devs to pm you, yet you used it more than once and FAILED TO report it to the Dev's. So, I guess whatever 'system' you have to kill in 5 secs will remain your secret exploit won't it?
