They did a great job handing out cloaks after the event today. Very efficient and well-organized. I've heard other shards' had nightmares.

You guys rock!

I am always amazed at the childish behavior that goes on at these events. Just start bannning people right from the get go if they're acting up.

They did ban a few people who were acting inappropriately... I saw a few banned for spellcasting and trash talk. Unfortunately it was just from the building and not from the game.. Mythic really needs to step up and actually start enforcing their ToS.

*sigh*

I can dream, can't I?

I agree, we have great EM's. I can speak to other shards, but I think we got real lucky with Mal and Latu.

I think we all know who the disruptive ones are. Same ones do it every event.

I think the event sucked. Nothing fun about running one tile every 30 seconds, never knowing if you're coming back to a grey screen.

I think the EMs went about handing the robes out poorly. I know many people who had nothing to do with the event but still managed to get 2 robes for each of their 5 accounts.

It shouldn't be up to EMs, it should have been a looting rights thing.

That's an issue with events like this. Unfortunately, in ANY game, you get too many people in one area at once, and it's a lag fest. I haven't played a game yet where that wasn't true.

What they DID do here on GL that I hadn't heard of elsewhere, was have the Shadowlords assault both Luna AND Skara in order to reduce the overall load -- unfortunately, even Skara was a lag fest because of the sheer number of people wanting to participate.

I don't see this as a failure though. Annoying, yes. I blew through about 120,000 gold over the course of the Luna events in insurance money alone (it's the new gold sink... heh), and probably said my fair share of curse words directed at EA, Mythic, and the game. Heat of the moment. In hindsight, it's nice that something like this DOES still attract a crowd.

No you don't. They banned the people, which means they got one per character per account. Now, if they ejected themselves before they could be banned, shame on them for exploiting the system. But don't blame the EMs for this. They did the absolute best they could -- and yeah, it sucked watching people line jump, cast, and be jerks... but the EMs did the ABSOLUTE best they could given the circumstances.

Should Mythic have handled it differently? Yeah. There's code that exists somewhere that would allow them to put an object in game where you double-click, get your item, and it's one per account. They use it on the Japanese shards for things like the wooden cow. So why it's such an issue for using in things like this is beyond me. But that is a fault of Mythic and the Dev Team, NOT the EMs.

And frankly, it's nice to see Mythic supporting in-game fiction and events, so I'm willing to forgive them a few hiccups here and there, even if I'm frustrated at the moment it happens.
It shouldn't be up to EMs, it should have been a looting rights thing.
Looting rights, in that mess? Yeah... err... interesting choice of decision you make there. Still, yes, I agree, a different mechanic should have been used. This does not, in and of itself, reflect poorly on the EMs.

I would like to see an instanced event, similar to WoW dungeons. Have a cap of X amount of players, each account can participate once. Make the boss difficulty comparable to how many total skill points is accrued between all party members. This way you don't have to worry about working around a schedule, etc.

It would be a brand new boss that no one would have seen before. No one would know the weaknesses, offensive tactics.. it would be a blast. Put a 2 week duration on the event instance to be accessed.

It was a bad idea havin it in luna, that wasnt EM design that was ingame story arc.

The problem with Luna is its such a small sub-server and the amount of vendors/items that has to be instanced. Then you add the mobs, then the people...thenx2 for the pets...you end up with probably close to 100k items/ids needing to be loaded every second.

That is why i saw the move to skara as Genious by the EM's, they moved it to a larger sub-server with little to no items to be loaded. Personally once we moved to skara the lag was gone.

The handing of the items was as well done as they could, there was still loot to be had on the bodies(check other shard forums for info) and you will never be able to stop people logging 5,6,however many accounts at the end to gain as many rewards.

The bit i liked the most was when, after what must have been the 10th warning, after 2.0 gated everyone into the centre(on mount which was a no-no! btw) the next person who openbed a gate they banned that person and whoever stepped through!CLASSIC!

I'm sure there's some way to figure out which players actually contributed something to the event, instead of just coming in at the end.

The robes actually had nothing to do with the Luna event, per se. They said it was a 'reward' to fit with the plotline. This was an item give away like the pies were. Anyone who showed up was supposed to get a robe to make it fair. And they were limited 1 per account.

Was the distribution easy? No. Is it the EMs fault? No. There are better ways to had out items like this, the asian shards have proven that as Ra'Dian said. Why the rest of the shards dont get to use the same method is a mystery. Send in a feedback form about it.

Malachi and Iatu made the best of an overwhelming situation when faced with the unruly mob full of cry babies and griefers. Be happy you got an item, now stfu. :lick:

GL is damned lucky that we have EMs that give us weekly events and have shown the interest in tailoring the Casca storyline to our shard.

Galen,
And we are happy to have you on GL :D

Amen to that Martyna! Sheesh, give Malachi and Iatu some appreciation for their hard work and stop complaining about the small stuff.
