Ok, so wanting to get to 10K loyalty points I decided to take my mystic off to kill Toxic Sliths...having heard all kinds of horrorstories on Stratics about them, I was fully expecting to die a lot and get my ass handed to me.

So I went to the biggest spawn of them just east of the Royal City. Saw the name of a Toxis Slith on the screen in the distance and prepared myself...Invisibility ready, Self heal/cure ready, Rising Colossus ready, Hail Storm ready.

And it was a freaking pushover...it died in two hail storms (which I could cast before it even got close to me), then I proceeded to wack the entire spawn in the area nearly effortlessly...heck didn't even use my RC and I was sitting there wishing they'd spawn faster and in more numbers.

So later I had 10K loyalty points...man these toxic sliths have a overinflated rep. They don't move as fast as people say they do (its not Lurg or Rend kind of fast at all) and besides lethal poison, then they're pushovers, so I guess if you're in melee with them they can be a pain, but otherwise...not so much. Heck the biggest "danger" in the area was the sewer rats which sometimes you wouldn't notice and they'd make your spells fizzle, had to run around hail storming the rats too, lol.

Who was it again who was complaining that Toxic Sliths were too tough and needed to be nerfed?

They're really strong or pathetically weak depending if the char is any good at PvM, or is just a mule with 100 magery.

True...though aren't most things strong to a mule? heh.

Though these days everyone have a legendary imbuer gargoyle with 10K loyalty points, so not much to use it for beyond own crafting.

By the way, is there anything potion or spells which can more effectively cure the poison from Toxic Sliths ?

The magery cure spell does not help much........

I've probably ressd 25 people there.

They do fine til 4-5 consta-spawn on them, and then they die.

But, I agree with you its not a problem for a decent character.

There's the one in the desert which is slow and crappy, then all I know besides that is the flying tower area to the east.

Where is the other area?

They move fast enough I have a hard time targeting them. Maybe you have better hand to eye coordination :) Still I never died to them or any of the other spawn in the area, on my unaltered imbuer, tinker, carpenter, alchemist, mage character even at 70 magery skill so whatever

IMO the Toxic Slith is pretty easy to handle. Even on my crafter i grabbed 100 Magery off a Soulstone had some invis pots ready and just threw out EVs in the highly concentrated areas of the north.

I actually have more trouble with the stone sliths for some reason (probably becuase im always bleeding profusely lol)

Either way you go this is the best way to get your loyalty rating up and the loot you can pick up along the way is decent for either unraveling or for some random ingredients. Now that im over 15k loyalty i still find myself Toxic Slith hunting for the fun of it.

Use target next enemy macro takes the pain outta trying to target a mobile. It has worked wonders for me in the enhanced client (never did like the targeting macros in 2d) maybe its the hotbars that make it easier for me.

It's enough of a challenge that I enjoy killing them and the other spawn in the area between there and the spiders

I just took some magery items on my worker and casted some EV:s and got my rep. These things are deffo freaking easy compared to how much rep they give.

Actually, the biggest problem I've had with the Toxic Sliths isn't directly from them.

Since so few people go to those places, it's QUITE LIKELY to get there and find 1-3 Anlorvaglem already upgraded there, killing the spawn, and wanting to kick your buttocks back to the Royal City. Even GD's don't last long against 3 paragon-level wanderers of the void that cast Arcane spells.

Where are they at? Connor can take 'em. Tell them to bring it and the Clan Graham will bring the hurt.:gun: :stretcher:

Late to the party here, but I thought I'd add that a tamer with enough vet skill to cure poison can tame a couple of bouras and lay waste to the toxic sliths. The bouras are all over the place east of Royal City where the toxic sliths are too, so stay away from the baddies until you can tame a couple of lowland or ruddy boura (they are way easy to tame).

With a fairly mid-level mage/bard/tamer I can bring a couple hundred bandies, tame two bouras and tear the toxic sliths apart with the two bouras, occasionally throwing in my own energy bolt or explosion in the process. The bouras have like 500 HP each, and even when they are poisoned in battle, the slith is quickly killed and there is plenty of time to break out the bandies and cure/heal before going to the next one. Very easy.

The people who had difficulty with toxic sliths were those trying to get loyalty to use the queen's forge on crafters. I struggled a bit with my Siege crafter. She is pure crafter and therefore has no real magery. She eventually managed it with the help of some mage jewels and a vollem - and quite a lot of gold to the npc vet.

The area with toxic slith the OP is talking about is rather safe. There is an area far north where about 6 at a time spawn along with the Demonic Abyssal spawn that get stronger as they morph. THAT area they spawn instantly while taking on 6 at a time.. That area is sure death for ALL but the best players.

My main crafting character has 60 real points of magery which is GMed using jewelry & a spellbook. The rest is all crafting skills. While 90% of his EVs fizzle, he can hunt toxic sliths easily with Mind Blast and blade spirits.

Heck he's up to Illustrious from hunting dragons.

His name is Landreu and MYUO is set to show his info if anyone wants to confirm he has only 60 real magery. :)
