Time again for a plea to raise stable slots...

Yeah, maybe I'm dumb for having a hell hound pack, but my stables are full, and there are still pets Id like to have. Pink bunnies for instance, just for fun. I'd also like to tame some giant rats or deers just to have something different to walk around with. You know, not to ruin stuff with, just for fun, and like as an actual "pet", rather than a weapon.

I know I will get the "you have to choose" response somewhere down the line, and I ask why? How does my having a larger selection of pets effect anything buy my own amusement?

Lets see what other common arguments against the idea are there... oh yes: "People just want everything, what will be next?!?!"
Silly argument, it effects nothing, causes no imbalances what so ever, and could hardly lead to a change that would actually effect game play.

As far as I know the ONLY reason they ever put a cap on the stable slots was that some people had 1000 pets and it caused massive lag. Lag is more or less a non issue at this point, so I dont see why we could keep more pets in the stables.

Hell charge me per day per pet if you want, I don't care. 100 gold per control slot beyond my normal limit if that helps! Something!

I know there are others with me, so speak up! Maybe one day it will happen!

Oh and while I'm pleading for random unimportant things GIVE US FULL BOOKCASES FOR THE LOVE OF HOLY GOD, IVE ONLY BEEN ASKING FOR TEN YEARS!

That is all.

I agree as well...what harm can there be to give all of us
whether tamer or not more slots?
Maybe someone could do a poll if it helps.

I agree even at 3x120 I won't have enough slots, and don't have the patience to make an account full of tamers to "hold" all the pets I'd like to have.

AGREED!! I had a squirrel that I eventually gave away because I didn't have a stable slot for him. Now I have a pink bunny I stabled and I am riding my beetle while it bonds, but I fear I will have to give that away too.

MORE STABLE SLOTS PLEASE!!

Oh and while we are at it.....for the love of UO please give us a metal dye tub with the same colors as the leather dye tub!!!!!

Stable slots should be increased for everyone, including non-tamers. Having a hitching posts at the house (costs lockdowns) would be really nice too.

I've said this for ages... now more desirable pets are created and still no more space... I'm seriously straining my stable spots

Just a suggestion, why not have stable slots equivalent to control slots, where you get like 20 stable slots, but a dragon takes 2 stable slots, timber wolf 1 stable slot, etc. This way you can have a pack of timber wolves, a few bunnies, and so on but not 20 dragons.

Either that or assign a designation to all things tameable in game. You can own as many non-monster type critters you want, packs of raging bunnies etc, but you could only have a limited number of fighting pets?

I have no doubt that the powers that be are working on the coding where you
can buy more stable slots, just like increased housing storage. That's the REAL
reason for the addition of super dragons, pink bunnies and the like. And also
the reason nothing has been done about the Ophid stuff and Magencia rubble.
If we didn't have that crap gathering dust, no reason to get increased storage.

I suppose they could do whatever they wanted depending on the amout of stuff each character can carry on them considering your pets are part of your character. I have no idea what it is, but I am sure there must be a limit, and at some point there would be a trade off. Just guessing though.

I still have that squirrel. I thought it was a weasel, though. He is pretty tough now.

I also agree, with pets now taking control slots and the servers, being far superior to what they were 10 years ago, why not let us all have say double the current stable slots? Your crafter could actually have a fire beetle, a blue beetle, and a couple of bonded packies, WOW!!!!

We all love pets. My Tailor and Smith walks around with Squirrel and Ferrets.

Maybe my Ninja needs a Pink Bunny as companion.

I have no tamers yet would like to use 3-4 packies on my miner since the BoS changes have made it really hard to transport ingots easily. Because skill totals are zero, he can only have 2 stabled at once.

Buying an added stable slot or 2 would help.

Additional Stable Slots should be bundled with the 7th char and 25% extra house, bank storage slot token.

EA (UO) gets more money and players are happy

I agree. I even think little pets should have their own stable or inn barnyard set up. I mean seriously why should a bunny or mongbat count as full of a slot as some nightmare or whatever. . or give us more slots so we can have the small cutes pets too.

ALSO since I been asking this for ages............ I am NOT a tamer..tamers get extra slots...............well my PET is TINKERED ...yet as a crafter I am oft on the blue beetle. Slots runneth over just trying to be on my beetle trying to tink up golems for others or god forbid I need to stable the beetle I ride AND my pet golem. Why should not the tinkerer get extra slots for their *skill* with more slots for pet golems.. or LESS so they hog up less room or give the blue beetle LESS slots. .something to help the tinker on the typical crafter mount the beetle tinker golem or stable golem and beetle with less issues ..esp if we have a horse in the stable..drag one out stable another in..oh you have no room in the inn with 3 pets horse beetle ya golem...let alone trying to tink em up live for customers while on ye beetle.

Tis not like the blue beetle is some 747 ugly rune beetle in size. I would gladly pay for MORE slots for golems or..have golems count as less slots since they pretty much nerfed up OUR pets unlike tamers pets and slot.

And yet with new lil things like these lil bunnies, we all end up slot full pick and choose may not be an option if ya had a horse since 98 or ya beetle since they were created same one even ya dont want to dump em for a new purple bunnie ...bunnies should get *a bunny hutch* stable haha half slots or no slots they are just so tiny...let us stable em in a shoe box at home..or something.

OOOH let tinker/carpenters make mongbat or make bunny hutches..we can stow em in our *garden* in lil hutches...they dont need a full stable !
We sure dont *(stable)* our pet rabbits in our rl homes..we cage em in lil bunny cages, same for our gerbils, birds, etc. mongbat should fit in a lil home set up too, probably no larger than mongbats and horde minions for *home hutch stabling cages though*

Be fun to have a lil zoo of tiny pets in our homes, save the stable slots for all the other pets, larger than a horde minion.

That be a good lil workable not over the top gold sink too, extra pets just charge us more gp for stabling em per day. chiching $$ gold sinks.

**might have to only apply to stabling** not sure how that work with walking around with em..but if small critters I don't have issues with a half dozen or so, only the big arse ones, I would not want to see tinkers with an army of golems in their tow... ...well yes I would !!! MUHAHAHA

Agree. Also find a way to swap the pet out of stable with a pet in stable, because, if you have a 5 slot dragon now and the stable is full - how can you ever get it into the stable or something else out without loosing that dragon first?

I'd love to see more stable slots, even with multiple tamers, having packs or novelty pets becomes less and less appealing and I like having pets for fun as well as hunting power.

Would also love a feature where we could swap with pets already stabled too. I've always kept a 1 slot pet to swap with 4 slotters, but the new draggy can make things awkward.

Also an important issue. I think its pretty dumb that they finally introduced a 5 slot pet and didn't think about this coming up. I will bet big money that there are already people who cant switch pets because they tamed a uberdragon with a full stable.

There is one ide i have tryed to promote d for for a time.

Let us be able to stable pets at home. The ide is coming from a time when i wanted my house to look like a stable. We lock our pets down and when we do it they become like a statue in normal size.
The amount of lock downs can be discussed.

1 we will win more stable slots(kind of)
2 a tamer can show of their nice little pets for others.

I would like a way to be able to "upgrade" my 2 existing dragons to super dragons - (train them up?)
I have had them for years and dont just want to just get rid of them and then tame 2 new superdragons :p
Also I would really like the bookshelves !

I can see it now. A nice Idoc house drops, cept house owner had 30 "dragon" statues locked down in it. Suddenly Idoc isn't as slow and boring as it normally is <grin>

This would be ok as long as you can't use such "pet statues" in your backpack. I've played on freeshards that have "shrunk pets" where you can for a fee take your pets and statue them. Thus you can carry or keep unlimited pets at your house.

This was very fun, but in combat wasn't great because pet statues became new "grenades". You would be a stealth/hider and just carry around 50 dragon statues which you whipped out in your guild battles/pvp fights. Throw dragon out, it dies, whip out another dragon. Sure, cost some gold, but still too powerful.

Now, if it was only available in houses, you wouldn't have much effect in pvp cept for house sitting. I don't mind people collecting animals, i just don't want them having a convienent pocket of superdragons.

And yep, no discussion. It's not discuss-worthy. The stable slot cap serves a lousy purpose. It limits tamers that want to make a living out of selling pets, it limits tamers in hunting options (packs, I'd love to have a frenzied ostard pack, but no room), and it's original purpose is outdated...

I haven't tamed anything new in ages because I don't have the stable room. No lockdowns left in my house, no stable slots left ... nothing new with me
LOL

I popped on some taming jewels and had my necro tame a purple bunny, and that's in her stable, so at least I have one

I just don't see what harm having extra stable slots for ALL characters, not just tamers, would do to UO.

It can't be about pvp, since you can still only have 5 followers out of the stable.

But I do think that some effort should be required to obtain more slots, that the extra slots shouldn't just be handed over for free. That way those who really want them get them those who don't want to do the work don't get them.

Possibly a quest of medium to hard difficulty or xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(erased so as not to give EA ideas).

Yes to extra stable slots!

I agree, to be able to stable my new Great Wyrm, or anything else i have out now that he's in the Stables, i have to throw on a +15 Vet/100 Luck/4% DCI/18% Dam Inc/4% Cold Resist Ring to do so. This is on a Tamer/Mage with 120.0 Taming/120.0 Lore/GM Vet Real, 115.0 Vet PS used so 115.0 Vet when wearing my Luck Ring. More stable slots won't be a problem nowadays with the 5 Control Slot limit, not like we're gonna see a Tamer with 15 Dragons in tow like we used to.

Plus the fact that in my Craftsman's Stable i have a Giant Beetle and a Pack Horse, he rides a Fire Beetle, so i have to claim the Packy and stable the Beetle to make a Golem. Would like to have more Stable slots for him so i can make a high end Golem ( http://www.uoguide.com/Golem#Tinkered ) to train up and mess around with. Would also like Golems to be beefed up enough to warrant the 3 Control Slots, like give them Crushing Blow and Concussion Blow, raise their' STR/Health, Physical and Fire Resist, and Base Damage. Make them "Bondable" somehow too.

Thought of a way to make them "Bondable", but not in the traditional sense. If your Golem dies, it will have a "Golem Brain Core" on it's corpse that you can loot and use on another Tinkered Golem of your's, and it gives it the Skills of the old Golem, but not the Stats/Resists. It would have the same Skills as the old Golem because you replaced the "Brain Core", but have different Stats/Resists because it's a different body. That way if you had a high-end Stat/Resist Golem that died, you wouldn't be able to immediately replace it, you would have to go through the process of tinkering up another good Stat/Resist one, which would probably take several attempts. Unless you already have a High Stat/Resist Golem sitting in the Stables.

Between a combination of more Stables Slots for everyone and this, i could imagine a Tinker having multiple High Stat/Resist Golems sitting in the Stables waiting for when the Trained Golem dies, so the Tinker has "Replacement Shells" awaiting a Brain Core.
