I am a hoarder yes, but i am not selfish, my friends many who have moved on to other games I would give them everything i have if they needed it, or wanted it, I am not the one crying that to even things out that identical items be put into the game because i missed the initial time they came out, if i don't have it and want it i will buy it if and when it becomes available, I will not cry to the developers that you need to change this nurf that, or put other things in the game to counteract a item/pet someone has. I pay the same amount for my accounts as everyone else with the exception of the free accounts. Do I care that someone has a free account? Nope why, you ask, I pay to play this game i also laugh at folks who think that since everyone cannot be identical in items/pets that they are crying that there needs to be something else implemented.

Let me tell you what will happen with these pets. A few years down the line long after the even there will be crying that these are unfair pets and eventually another even with pets will come up, it happens, never fails, and there will be pets come out again with similar stats.

Ok I did get a wisp heads up that a dread was in the offing a while back, but I hoped it was the mare not some SCHOOL BUS that looks horrible.
Tell the Dev to offer the mare again too for the people who ae not fans of the swampie.

Like the idea of pet paint thou, would be nice to have a blue GD again. Also I vote for a few more Stable slots for the 120/120/120 tamer and I do like the idea of Deeds for sale of tamed pets for use on vendors with the ability to do one a week sounds like a nice deal finally for tamers.

Actually you were the one who started crying about it in this thread, wanting things to remain rare. Its your kinds fault that the devs have to create new things all the time, instead of reusing old stuff. They could just as well have made it an actual Dread instead of a svampie hybrid.

This also has nothing to do with being identical, but everything to do with items not being one-offs and be available to paying subscribers.

When the Dread Warhorses hit the scene during the Vanguard Invasion a couple years back, I think it was Draconi that said there would be another spawning of Dread Warhorses or similar pet at a future event. Took them 2 years to get them out to the populous of UO, but they will be a welcome sight to those that are looking for new ride able pets with good skills.
Guess I'll have to get my swampy steering skills dusted off and back up to speed so I can drive one of these Bane Dragons. Last time I drove a swampy, I got stuck on a flower petal outside Oasis...hehe

haha thats amusing. Why don't you start giving away all your money and all the power scrolls/pinks you may have. Oh and your arties. Some people don't have Ornies or the ability to get massive amounts of relics to get nice imbued gear, so you should give those out also.

Oh you should give out any runics you have, or make items and hand those out to the public also. Because obviously just because you log in and do the work to get runics doesn't make you worth more than someone who doesn't. rolleyes:

If they are trying to balance the game (which they are) these were needed. Not everyone got or has a dread, they had to impliment something to give some people a chance to have one.

It's debatable, unless Bane faction loyalty effects control. Can tame without any faction loyalty, but requires 107.1 taming, which, unless I'm wrong, makes Bane Dragons the hardest tameable in the game. A Greater Dragon is 104.7 and a Fire Steed is 106. So these are pets made for 120/120, while I do not believe you need such skills for a Dread Warhorse ;P.

I'm pretty sure you can use jewels . Can use jewels on everything else in game (and to bond, as well).

Ah I stand corrected . They seemed easier to tame/control for me for some reason, but I guess it's all the same then!

Its a shame they made these banes for tamers only to use. It would of been nice if they made these banes to be control by anyone, or where you need a certain skill like mystic to control it.

I agree. Reptalon looks more menacing too.
Otherwise, it might get confused for a regular swampy with shadow barding deed armor.
Seems devs took the easy way out... color the swampy and change it's resists/spells to that of a nightmare. A reptalon riding animation is too much work *rolls eyes*.... reuse the swampy riding art.

Plus them requiring max reputation with the bane faction to be able to control them, apposed to being with the orphidion faction and there being some kind of bonus for max reputation with them.

Killed a good number of Bane Dragons on Origin and collected some data about the maximum resists and stats.

These are the highest stats I've seen or what I assume the max to be based on the ones that I saw:

HP 650
Str 550
Dex 125 (Might not even be that high freshly tamed)
Int 150 (Saw one at 152 but it might have blessed itself before I lored it)

Resists
Physical 70
Fire 50
Cold 45
Poison 60
Energy 40 (minimum of 20)

Skills
110 tactics
All other skills were below GM

Hope that helps everyone when they're looking for one to keep. If someone finds any information contrary to mine then please correct me.

3) Subdue (aka beat down) the Bane Dragon to pretty much red line before being allowed to tame the beast
4) You must have 3 control slots available in order to tame them, once subdued
5) ??Will Bond immediately after being fed a minimum of 2 (two) Blackrock Stew??

I'm not 100% sure about #5, i have yet to get any stew but I thought that it was the only thing they would eat and you would still have to wait the 7 days for it to bond.

I've always thought you had to wait a week prior to any pet bonding & that is why I put the question marks at beginning and end.

A comment up around #35 is where I got the bonding after 2 bowls of Blackrock Stew from -

Have bonded one with 2 bowls of stew and got a message "the bane dragon has now returned to maximum power".Thunderz

You would have to wait a week on a production shard, but as it was on TC and on TC there is a gate that removes the wait time, you can feed it a bowl befor and after using the gate.

The Stew is obtained from one of the quests in the Bane camp. You need 2000 loyalty to Bane (which means killing Ophidians) in order to take the quest, then 10 or 20 Crystalline Blackrock to trade for it, the Crystalline Blackrock drops on the higher waves of spawn (of both camps).

When you gain loyalty with one side you lose 3x as much with the other side.

Something else I've noticed... the mini champ spawns in the Stygian Abyss on TC are giving loyalty towards the gargoyle queen. Idk if they always were but theres a system message for it now. Killing a Renowned gives 50 points.

& no its only on TC and Origin atm.

Holy smokes they are hard to tame.
I have never tamed a creature that needed to be subdued but could cast magic heal.. As soon as it is low health it starts healing, leaving a very narrow window to taming. When hit with ranged attack it can and often will spit a poison ball. Unlike other breath weapon this damage does NOT diminish with the lowering of it's health. You have to guess when it's subdued due to never getting the message that you have done so. The range on the breath is VERY far. There is not Timer on the breath attack. You CAN be breathed to death with no chance to heal.

The down side of those dragons vs the dread war horses is that they are affected by dragon slayer which means that in pvp its better using dread, they have the same resists more or less but they arn't affected by any slayer

Thats cause you need taming to have one. Its like trying to give a Greater Dragon to your Sampire .

Indeed, thats why I have my Sampire slaughtering Ophidians lol. And Im not bonding any Bane Dragons until I get myself the perfect one so I dont waste any Stew .

If you are loyal to Bane do the Hellhounds around the Bane Dragon by Slasher ignore you? That would make taming them easier if thats the case. (*Edit* No, even if you are loyal to bane you still get attacked by them in the Abyss).
