It will be moderated by Lord Hunter, and I may make guest appearances (just in case) - therefore it will not be free for all smacktalk.



Basic rules:

1. no heavy profanity (if it's in the filter, it's there for a reason, don't bypass it);
2. no personal stuff (you suck as archer is OK, you suck RL and live in mommy's basement is not);
3. no porn / racism / RL discrimination;
4. no exploits/hacks links/how-to's and/or freeshards;
5. no pictures you would not want your mother to see;
6. no links to objectionable content, especially if not UO-related.

Me and Juicey planning on getting a 2v2 tourny together so far gonna be basic... any template no fields no pets no conflags maybe no spellweaving (want your guys's opinion on that cuz attunement and gift of renewal is very annoying lol) don't have a date or anything still in the talking phase... so start thinking about what your temp is gonna be and who your partner is... when the tourny is set its gonna be posted on all west coast shards and east coast if they are willing to come to sonoma

I don't find $&*# talking the biggest problem in the game of UO. There are profanity filters as well as the ability to ignor players built into the game. They are effective..try it...problem eliminated.

As for being the "biggest problem" with regards to profanity? If you contribute to that particular "problem" then you are also part of the problem.

There are so many other problems in the game that EA needs to address that profanity pales by comparison.

I was fighting lil wayne of cop at the cop yew house. No one else was around so it was cast on him, he runs into house and I heal…repeats. Well after a few minutes of this he bolts from the house and I give chase. We run for about 20 seconds into the woods and I run smack into 5 cop and two ready to dismount me. I am now on foot trying to make it back to the guard zone but once again overwhelming numbers ran me down and killed me.

It truly does seem that the only fights cop seems to favor are the ones they have overwhelming numbers. When we had close to the same numbers earlier they leave. When a couple cop die the rest retreated…till I was fighting lil wayne, then he took me to where they went, a gank for me! This is how they do it; they hide and use one as bait. He lures you to the spot of attack and someone says, “all kill”, and they all pop out and attack you at once to kill you. Then they all hide and set up the next player for this attack…I know this isn’t a new tactic but they do it too damn much. Really guys if you die you can res and come right back and fight. Running off and hiding your numbers and then lure one at a time to get kills is cheap.

I have more respect for those that dont hide behind an alias when posting garbage.

For many people, PVPing alone isnt the beginning and end all of playing UO. Some are quite good at it and enjoy getting the kill. Some like me enjoy playing for the fun of it, I like the commeraderie of being part of a team. I've noticed that many people in all guilds play tamers, stealth archers, and a variety of templates that do quite well and seem to enjoy working as a team. It is very difficult to PVP without being part of a team. Are you perhaps one of these unique individuals that prefers to go it alone? If so, who is your character?

Just for GIGGLES imagine what fighting COP would be like if UO automap didn't exist???? Verbally communicating exact positions to setup stealth dismounts and large groups would be near impossble in a running battle & PvP would come down to more 1 on 1 fights I think.... *ahhhh wishful thinking...*

Who I am is irrelevant. I've been deployed for 15months and been in training before that so I've been out of the game awhile. Invertigo is my main character. I just don't see the 'skill' in playin a stealther/dismounter. You pick your fights. Initiate every fight, always getting the jump. So if someone was to get the jump on you I'd put my money on you running away and stealthing back, unless a zerg was called in to assist you against one person. The joy in killing one person with teamwork. Try the joy in killing a group 10v10, instead of 5v1. I usually don't run solo, but more of a smaller grp mostly all mounted and open for an atk. Even if I ran solo I'd have a better chance of surviving then some who run with 2.

Not sayin you a stealther or to be honest have no idea what your template is, nor do I give.

Considering your guild (SCAM) uses both automap as well as stealth archers you already know the advantages. Though I would beg to differ with you in that the loss of it would make it impossible to have a running battle. We do it all the time

As for Invertigo, first I must say "Thank You" for your service to the States. What branch of the military are you in? My husband is a Marine and we know from personal experience the sacrifice the troops have been making with regards to their country as well as their families. Are you coming home soon?

With regards to your comment about stealth archers, even though you do not perceive it is a skilled template to play, perhaps you could recognize that it does have its uses. Some can play a stealth archer well, because quite often it takes patience and self-discipline to pull it off. Others prefer the hack and slash style of play and find the template frustrating. I think the most important thing in playing a game is to have fun.

If you don't like working with a team and find that playing a solo character is what gives you a sense of accomplishment and gratification then by all means go for it. But, I think most of the people in my guild as well as other guilds recognize the value working as a team and appreciates the skills each of us have to offer to our respective guilds.

First off ty and im army. As for dismounters, I can agree they have their usefulness, i just find it hard to brag when one outnumbers and still have to dismount. IDK how the SCAM pvp is nowadays but when I played we had maybe 1 person who would go on a dismounter rarely, and was to combat the other teams dismounts. I'm more of an even number guy. Don't get me wrong I love large-scale PvP, but as long as the scale isn't tipped one way, that I fail to see the fun in. Kinda like how people don't see how one can feel proud like they accomplished something by cheating, I being the same way. Sure you run fel but at what amount of 'fun'. The game has turned into item hogs, for lack of a better word(well have one but cant use it). The reason for fel imo is PvP and having the upper hand every single fight isn't fun. If there was a way to combine forces to fight evenly against COP and not have so many problems cool. But I'll give COP props for having as big of guild as it does and holding together for so long. But for PvP I wouldn't consider ya'll a Player verse Player guild. More a Numbers vs Player guild, take it as you wish. I'ma go play Command and Conquor with meh buds. Oh and I have abouit a month left til I come back and start wrecking ya'll. ^^

Because 75% of the time you dont know its a trap til 4 more stealther pop out of the shadows....that is COP. Hears an example of a pic took other week....

Wow, the rolling that COP took...again..yesterday was downright embarrassing. Unless you can drag someone back to a gank group, your field fighting just plain sux.

To make themselves feel better, they ran down to despise to turtle up the island at lvl 1. LOL. Why do you even bother? No-one...and I mean absolutely no-one cares about scrolls or such anymore. I know it probably makes you feel better...or something..but...of course, when they finally got the courage up to come back to field fighting....well..we all know the results of that.

Once again, as well, DOM sure has that run away and leave his guildies to die thing down pat!!

Ya know..since we're on the subject of DOM, this brings up a a serious question to COP:

How in Gods name do you allow such cowardice to remain in your guild? Especially in your "PvP" group. Do you have any idea how bad this one factor alone makes your guild look? I would say it is the number one source of laughter and derision towards your guild and its state of desperation. It is very perplexing how a group of likely decent folks can allow such a thing. Over the years, I have played in many guilds. Not one would have allowed such a person to remain for more than 5 minutes after they tucked tail and ran off, leaving guildies die repeatedly to their enemies. That boy cares nothing for your guild and only uses your numbers in a vain attempt to try to make himself look/ feel good about himself in game. It is blatantly obvious that all he cares about is himself because he sure doesn't seem to care about any of you. I truly feel bad for those of you that have to play with him and know he will leave you high and dry at any moment, leaving your ass flapping in the breeze. In my lifelong study of the human animal, your group is unique in this sheepish allowance of such behavior. Even HOT, on Atl, does not allow anything like this, and they are quite a few times the size of COP. It is quite an oddity...but then again, it is COP we are talking about. Just curious.

I also notice thaat you post under an anonymous signature Widow Maker. Ever notice how most of the posts slamming COP are posted that way? Or by someone who hasn't even played UO in a good while? Why is that? Are you afraid that your actions will be noted and posted to the boards for everyone to see? Is this your only way to succeed at a game?

See, I know why I play the game...it's for fun. I make no claims at being the best PVPer on Sonoma. I just don't CARE who is and who isn't. If I am having fun its a good day. Others, I know, think different as if it is a competition...if that is what floats your boat so be it...If you need to thump your chest and crow...go for it.

If COP is so bad, then why do we consistantly hold the Faction towns? If COP is so pathetic, then why do most of the people in other guilds huddle around the moongate? If COP is so weak, why does SL & TB use the blues at the moongate to hide among? If COP is so inept how do we consistantly hold the champ spawns and the Harrowers?

There are a variety of playing styles and reasons for playing UO in COP. Some are better than others in their abilities to PVP. What makes us different than most guilds is that we try to appreciate all efforts to participate and be part of the team. We try to respect the abilites and contributions of our fellow guildmates. We also try to help each other with learning how to be better PVPers in our respective templates. If we get an occassion member that does not respect the few rules we do have, they don't last long and usually end up booted and end up in one of the guilds that post here slamming COP.

Honey, the periods were put in so that some of the less than sharp COP members would have a chance to understand what we are talking about. You know... the ones who lick the glass on the bus and occasionally pee themselves. Think of it as talking slowly. We're all a little more than disappointed you did not pick up on this. We now have to re-evaluate your intelligence quota rating in the guild. Sorry. But..we still appreciate your efforts in letting the shard know what you think of COP. The barrels say it all. Meanwhile, we have reports of several hours of fighting in Despise. Scam/OTK pops up a coon to draw the sheep to slaughter and they did not disappoint us. The same coon has been up for about 4 hours as COP keeps coming down and dying, over and over and over. The numbers were mostly even on up to 2+ to 1. It's going to take more than that COP. DOM tried to do his "run away and leave pals to die" but we got him on both his toons for you COP, you are avenged for his cowardice. COP's rep becomes 100% better the day you toss that trash. Hmm..what is + 100% of 0...ponders. :loser:

Update..COP finally got their numbers up to 3+ to 1 plus a dragon and were finally able to kill the Coon. Thanx for all the points and loot. You guys R.U.L.E.S.!!!

Because no one has the patience nor time to pick up the 100's of candleabra's you guys leave in the walk way of your faction base. It's like cop too lazy to defend the sigls.

No...its because holding a town sigil for a few hours is not worth it...also who cares about the sigils??? Give me a good reason to hold the sigils other than "Bragging Rights". When they fix the timer to what is was pre invasion...folks might start trying to actually take and control them...

Even though I'm not playing right now I wouldn't waste my 4 hours of playtime guarding a sigil wekep for 6hours for someone who has no life to just come and take it when no one else is on. Most people sleep, and work, and have somewhat of a social life. Some don't.

Cop attempts field fighting again. The usual end game played out with DOM headed for the hills and all his pals dead again. Good job taking care of your guildies there DOM...you are the greatest!!

I believe Wyld won the pool for how long DOM would last before he ran away tonight. Yes, we are actually taking bets now, on how long (in minutes) before DOM runs away and leaves his guild mates in a pickle. It is fun and kind of like BINGO in UO!! Might as well have some fun with it...right?

It degenerated into COP just house hiding, getting killed over and over again when they dared to venture out. There were times when they had the opposing side 2 to 1 but we all know they need at least 3 to 1 to come out of the house, so it didn't happen. :loser:

So sad.

Truthfully, thanks for the fighting, thanks for the loot and thanks..well.. thank you for just being COP.

Why..we absolutely agree with you TMI..How astute of you. You have gained +1 in intel. COP..running underlings and lamers every day on Sonoma...hmmm. Not really to good. You have some extra words there that detract from the primary initials. On a scale of 1-10..I would have to give it maybe a 3. Kind of disappointing but you are COP after all ...btw...do your guildies know you feel this way about them?

Being that you are a council member..don't you think your guildies and their leaders are going to be a bit upset about you saying you're running underlings and lamers...every day...on Sonoma...in COP??

Is this some sort of anger management system..did someone in your guild make you angry enough today to make you call them underlings and lamers??? I think a few of them are going to be a bit miffed at you for outing them like this, altho it was no big secret anyways...don't worry. They will get over it..after all..they put up with DOM..I am sure you will be fine too. Breathe deep, let it all out...there there..that is a good boy. I can empathize with you on this son, I think I would be frustrated too if I had to help run COP.

ANYWAY.. on a completely new tangent... Would COP perhaps consider a pre-planned / scheduled Harrower? (Just for fightings sake?) I'll ask SCAM, but I already know we HATE doing oaks (lol) & having more than 4 of us on is quite tough.. but I will ask. I think the only way it would happen for us is if one of us just collects a full set of skulls and tells the rest WHEN PvP will happen lol... but maybe I'll / /someone will just have to do that..
