They really should have and could have, kept it simple.
In the 20 odd years that UO has been around, ump-teem games have gone from paid for, to free to play, or a mixture of both, they could've spent a month going on how they did it, what the reactions were and how they improved upon it
But no, as has always been the case with UO, it's their way or the highway.
Every time they make mistakes like this though, they miss tremendous opportunities to bring vast amounts of players back to UO, it's like they WANT UO to fail.
"Oh we're bringing out a free to play mode for UO! But it's going to be so restrictive, almost everyone will hate it! We probably won't get any new subs (aka income) and the game will remain on life support! We're so awesome....group hug!"
