As of yesterday afternoon, Jeremy Dalberg and Mythic Entertainment have parted ways. We would like to thank Jeremy for her numerous contributions to the Ultima Online team and the larger UO Community over the past years. We would also like to wish her the best in her future endeavors. Joanne Laroche will be lending her experience to the UO team in the interim as we work through this transition. In closing, I’d like to offer this farewell from Jeremy to the UO Community:

Yes, this hurts! I had the utmost respect for what Jeremy did, not just in her work in keep us informed, but also as a last resort for getting issues resolved. I personally had her intervene many times to get word to those that needed to do the fixing. If Jeremy is moving on of her own volition, then I wish her all the best, but if EA just decided to cut her lose, I'm grabbing my torch and pitchfork and rioting!

Oh and Jeremy, if you visit Pacific shard, come join our RP events!

I believe she answered our questions the best she could. I believe she was held back by her so-called superiors. Keep in mind EA pays low wages so you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong, I think Jeremy is a good developer or whatever she is. I believe the management team are the incompetent ones.

Jeremy probably got a good offer from another company and took it. The rest of the clowns remain with the circus.

OK, to those less informed, 'parted ways' is usually meant that it was not Jeremy's decision to leave the UO Team. Plain and simple, this was Mythic letting her go.

Honestly, with cutbacks they probably found her position redundant... which it was, to be honest.

That said, while I didn't enjoy Jeremy's tenure as a community coordinator, she IS a person. So good luck, Jeremy, on whatever the future holds. I hope that whatever you choose to do next is successful. I believe all things happen for a reason, and usually... usually... things turn out for the best.

We'd already seen that EA were predicting job cuts and as Jeremy's job was community rep its hardly surprising that she'd be one of the first to go based on EA's total lack of care or respect for its paying customers/community.

If they start cutting the already skeleton crew of devs then its time to get depressed and alarmed.

If thats your opinion Galen then I can understand your disappointment. Depressed though? A little strong a term maybe. Myself I always felt she was more of a spin doctor and was just there to tow the company line, hence my disappointment is somewhat less than your own and Im not at all alarmed as she was the first name I thought of when I read the job cuts statement. It was hardly a surprise.

Actually, I disagree.

Jeremy's job had no impact on the greater UO game. Trust me, the entire dev team reads these boards and is acutely aware of issues and concerns.

Her job, overall, was a cut that impacts the team very little, other than making someone else pull a bit more extra as far as 'filling in' for her and doing her job.

As said before, if they touch the UO dev team... especially since it IS a skeleton crew... then yes, I'm worried.

Ever notice that EA always get rid of the wrong people first, they should start getting rid of the stupid suits, they cost the company and community more, and leave the UO dev team and support alone.

The problem with that theory, is that it's the SUITS who are deciding who needs to go... so it's not going to be them... Throw a marketing person or community rep overboard. Save a nickel here or dime there and we'll look like we cut costs... until we lose subscriptions. OOPS... who said that?

It's all speculation. The term parted ways in my mind suggests their was some discord or dissention. Most time people leave jobs is because they can't stand someone who they're working with.

Maybe she got a better job that pays more money.

Anyways I thought she did her job here.
