I have been using this UI and reading this whole post for the last couple days, (which was quite a job!) and you did an awesome job Pinco. Thanks for all the work you put in and making the game a better place. Because of your UI, and the undeniable benefits it has, I finally convinced two of the most die-hard classic client users in my guild to make the switch, and I hope to bring it up at the next meeting and see how many more I can hook. I have three questions for you:

1- I think a good portion of what makes classic players not want to switch to the enhanced client is laziness. They have so many macros set up and they don't want to go through the process of creating them all again. I know the macros work very differently between the two clients, but is there enough similarity to be able to cut and paste information from the files of the old client to the new to at least cut some of the work out of it and get people at least marginally functional the minute they make the switch?

2- Another reason I have heard for not making the switch from the mage players is that they like to be able to precast spells. Is there a way to retain the ability to easily precast spells while at the same time take advantage of the new targeting system and its benefits?

3- I have been using the enhanced client for a year, and one of the annoying things that used to get my sampire killed was using hit effect and area effect weapons and losing aggro because of not completely killing one target before starting the next. In other words, my character would stop automatically defending itself and I'd have to go back into war mode and manually attack one of the remaining enemies that were beating on me while I just stood there. To fix that I made a chain macro to (select closest enemy target), (toggle whirlwind special move), (attack current target) and I would just use that instead of fighting in peace mode. The only problem is when one of my guildmate's EVs happened to be the closest enemy, I would accidentally hit it and make a pesky little tag along that would follow me around, attacking me as I fought. Several times I acidentally made an enemy of a guildie's colossus which makes a hell of a worse enemy than an EV, believe me. So is there any way that I can filter out summons as being attackable to avoid that problem?

This happens to me all the time. I've died numerous times when in combat mode having some monster beat on me while I stood there doing nothing.

I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm pretty sure it's even happened to a current target like a Boss or high end 160, some buff or action would cause me to toggle out of combat mode and stop swinging.

Next thing I know I'd be dead.

Question : Why the hell am I not leeching!?

Answer: Cause I'm not swinging!:mad:

This is not something with the Pinco UI but with the EC Client in general.
That's why I made the macro. I know it's nothing to do with Pinco's UI, but I was hoping he or someone had the answer to fixing my whirlwind macro to stop attacking summons. I think summons should be blue until someone sics them on you. They should show like pets. The reason I posted here is that Pinco seems to have this way of being able to tell mobs apart, what with all the healthbars auto-updating and being filter-able. I figure if there is a way to tell them apart, there is a way to filter them. :D

Sometimes I lose target on bosses, and if I dont have a bar up for the boss, i try to double click the boss and get a dragon's wingtip instead. Or a player who happened to run under my cursor at a bad time. Also happens when the boss drops dead and i need to loot it. Someone runs in or a dragon opens a wing for no reason and the battle starts up again. LOL :fight:

When you enter the first time on EC with a character it will ask to import macros from 2d... just do it :D

just set all spells on target cursor and use a button for target current to fire the spell :)

I can't do anything about that, is a problem who bhoter me too... but the target is set by the client and the UI can't switch it, so only the devs can fix this :(

I don't understand this problem....if the player is offscreen and you cancel the current target, the spell does not cast....it just gets held....so just have a cursor target last, or not even just a last target hotkey.

I'm not sure I get the problem myself, as I dont play a mage. What was told to me is that one cant precast a spell if one's target is on a mob without first canceling targeting, which requires an additional keystroke.

I think really what the client needs is demo videos highlighting the things that are possible with the new client, that are absurdly difficult or impossible on the classic client, and video format instructional clips showing what each setting does and how to tailor it to each user's style. THEN people will start making the switch.

nope, is a default feature... honestly, you can put all the needed spells on the hotbar then right click on the spell -> target -> cursor
and drag the action of target current on the hotbar too and assign another hotkey.

done :D

We should make a wishlist for the devs (probably in its own thread) of things that get repeately asked of Pinco. These are probably the most wanted features that should be implemented as soon as someone starts working on the EC again.

I'm trying to increase the numbers I was in a Vent server the other day with a nice group from GL's and we were fighting Corgul.

After it died none of the Non-EC users could see the corpse... I could and I was able to loot most of the stuff off the corpse.

Weird isn't it?

Anyway I was saying how I could do this and that and the other thing thanks to the EC and all and they were like HUM...... REALLY?... I think they might try it.

I'm hoping so.

Changing the way folk play one group at a time. *laughs* And believe it or not I was totally against the EC for a long time and I HATED the KR client..... the graphics were ugly as sin.

I for one would love to see this feature added to your already great UI mod.

In the interest of converting some people to EC, I have on guildmate that can't get EC to work, he says he downloaded it, it completed the patches, and it went to the login screen, he put in his info and hit Login and it freezes there. Are there any known programs or processes that are incompatible with the enhanced client that might be found on Windows 7?

Fixed it, it was the Nvidia thing from a different post. :D

Ok, I got my guildmate on the EC, and got him using the Pinco's UI. He's having an issue with the Mobiles bar not populating. I had him dock my bar to it, and it looks like it should, with the options to cast cure and heal, and the option to move the bar, but it won't depopulate the life bars from under the mobiles bar when they go out of range, it simply greys out the health bar to indicate that it's out of range. If he drags up a regular bar for me, and tries to close it, it sticks to his cursor.

On mine, it populates the mobiles bar when someone comes into range, and when someone leaves, the healthbar disappears.

His settings under the various menus are identical to mine and another guildmate's but his wont populate like it should. It has to be somewhere in the normal settings or something. Any ideas?

it's a client problem, some mobiles will stay invisible in your screen and so the bar don't disappear... use "Clear Mobiles" from the mobile bar context menu for remove them for some minutes or logout to remove them forever...

it's a client problem, some mobiles will stay invisible in your screen and so the bar don't disappear... use "Clear Mobiles" from the mobile bar context menu for remove them for some minutes or logout to remove them forever...
But if he has the mobiles bar filter set to show innocents and friends, it should populate the bar, right? The bars are not appearing under his mobiles bar, at all, unless you drag one manually from a character and dock it there. If you dock one there, it won't disappear when the character leaves.

yes, the cooldown is doable, I tought you want the duration and this is another story :p
however is 14 seconds not 20 :D

Hate to say it... again... but the mobiles bar is borked. Its not displaying anything
really, I'm totally unable to replicate this problem... try the clean UI (without texture/icon packs)

UPDATE: you are lucky, casually I found the problem... by closing the map :D
So, I've fixed it and will works correctly in the next version :)

- Now the hiding counter starts when you fail.
- When the current target go below 4% life the number will be updated to 0 instead of remains 4.
- Added the evasion cooldown counter.
- Fixed the bushido defensive stances activation color. Now they'll always be red when active and the red will be correctly removed when the effect is gone.
- Now if you are embracing your honor, the honor icon will be red.
- Fixed some mobiles on the db.
- Added the barding difficulty to the target details.
- Fixed a bug that block the update of the mobiles bar if you have the map closed.
- Added the center screen text "Honor Wears Off" when the honor embracing effect is gone.

Pinco your Interface is very good, but there are a few things which i dont like.

The settings are only in context menues on different places, a settings window would be cool, why can i not dragout my own healthbar if i want it? Use the statusbar... what if i dont like to use it?

All other things are fantastic, you have intigrated a massive amount of database stuff the last half year.

Also i like the old menubar with its chat tab, main menu, guild.

This should only be a feedback no criticsm.

Another vote for this! I would prefer that a button be added to the main menu for skin settings, and that the old menu-bar remain the same. Just a suggestion ;)

Oh, and seeing how the mobiles bar pulls up bars anyway, is there a way to toggle not having the huge healthbars show up when you are added to a party? No sooner do i close all those pesky bars than they add another member and i have to close all the bars again!

you can scale the party healthbars... make it little and the problem is solved :p

context are quick than open a window and search around for the right option. However, is not said that one day I'll make a window for some of them :)

you have to use it anyways :D
your healthbar cannot be open anymore for a reason, is used for others purpose and even if I could change a bit the code, I think that is illogical to have 3 healthbars for your character...

The bar was too long, I had to cut up some buttons... however, the pics on the bar were bad and you have always to put the cursor on to know what are them, so is better a context in this manner you can read it faster and only in 2 clicks :p

you don't need 2 more buttons on each window... just enable the scale mode the use the mouse wheel to increase/reduce the size :)

This works for almost all windows ;)

Not everyone uses an input device with a scroll wheel. :p

every mouse in this world has the wheel or, if you use a touchpad, there is a gesture for doing what the wheel do :p

Obviously if you are going to use the mouse of your 486 x2 there is no wheel :D

emulate uo in the mac is not the best choice in the world in any case... ec takes enough memory in a normal pc... I didn't imagine what happen in a virtual machine :D

this is an intended feature, in this manner you can give different size to different maps.
For example if you are using 2 world map for your ships you can make one bigger and one little for 2 different purposes :)

I have to check it then... but I suggest to use the atlas because actually the radar is became obsolete :p
The atlas has much more features and the scroll works properly :)

Not all trackballs do. I'm just saying, not safe to assume that someone has a scroll wheel. Certainly not a criticism of you. It's a common oversight of most developers not to include an alternative for features they assume a scroll wheel is present for. :)

1. Is it possible to have a shimmering effect on loot which is imbuable into relics without having to cursor over them? If not, is it possible to change the font of the grey relic information?

2. It would still be great to have a colossus timer.

1. unfortunately the item properties cannot be read if you don't have the cursor on it

2. I tried to do that but It's undoable... I can't know when you summon it (I can detect the spell, but I don't know when you really target the ground to summon it), then I can't detect if still alive or have been destroyed/dispelled, because if it goes out of sight will produce the same effect...

I play with 8gb but nothing changes, because the game allocate every particles into the memory and ONLY the game can remove it by using a garbage collector.

The EC garbage collector is clearly broken. The devs could easily test it by fighting the shimmering effusion: after 10 minutes the lag will be huge due to all the wisps effect.

This problem is the same that let be visible death monsters with 0 life, or creatures far away that still invisible in your screen.

I hope supreem could fix it as soon as possible, because this is a great problem of stability and the main cause of crash.
It is there since the Kingdom Reborn patch which includes the legacy artwork. But they have done a few tweaks around that because of that the SA client is much more stable than KR. But i think the problem is the core engine itself, iam not sure if Supreem is able to fix, you must see they weren't able to fix it over 3 years now. What i only can tell them is they should look again into the KR beta source code, the performance was not as good as when you now fresh restart the client, but it was very stable performend. The changes now are only making the client laggy and the resolution is lowered that the client is not consuming so much memory, but this is not the coreproblem. Maybe you should also consider if you dont want to begin anew most arts are there, maybe you can bring it up to a higher version of gamebyro.

Now I'm working on the loot sorting (NOT WORKING ON LEGACY CONTAINERS):
Items will be listed based on their importance.

I'd like to hear some opionions. Actually I though this importance scale (NOTE: I can't read item properties!!!)
1. Artifacts/Set
2. Paragon Chests
3. Crafting materials (ML reagents, Imbuing reagents, gems, etc..)
4. Mage/necro/mystic reagents
5. All the other items

Let me know if you need other kind of items on scale or if you think the order is wrong. Thanks

Maybe high intensidy items for unravelling or imbueing higher than low ones if possible? Can't wait to try your new build!
