If it's an "allowed" piece of information, can someone tell me how big the download is please? Just so I can mentally prepare hubby for me hogging the bandwidth for "X" amount of days when it's actually released?

Don't worry they just censored the truth like usual. Chrissay or someone must have sent in a complaint that they feedback wasn't positive so they deleted it. Another reason why having a beta full of fanbois will fail.Dross?

It is. I honestly rather enjoy it. The only downer is when you point out stuff that really needs to be fixed but they never do it because the release is too close, though that probably wouldn't have been a problem here. :|

First of all, congrats to those who are in, there are more names than I can count on my fingers that I do recognize and have great confidence in, and feel certain all of us will be well represented by.
That said, my feeling about the thread went "south" around post #3. IMO, it's another decision I'm not sure about the wisdom of. It's a fine line I suppose, but "the code of silence" that’s worked before just sits a little better with me personally. You can sense the feelings of disappointment scattered along the thread, something better either systemically avoided or minimized. One can argue the logic of putting the names out there to reinforce confidence, but weighted against predictable disappointment - I'm just not sure I can climb aboard here.
Again, congrats where appropriate, sympathy but a word of encouragement elsewhere. Betas tend to "phase," it's likely everyone will get a look-see soon enough. Selection criteria varies and are too numerous to open the floodgates too early. Previous beta experience on one hand may help, but equally may hinder selection, as the process itself over time tends to try and encompass more than just a few of our voices! Keep your chins up

I understand what you are saying, perhaps some people don't deserve being in the beta. But I can't see how EA/Mythic can connect posters on Stratics with the sign-up for the beta... Unless Stratics is sharing email/user info with EA/Mythic. Which you wouldn't do... right?

Petra Fyde v. Petrify - way too entertaining for a posting board!!! Good link Petra. And Old Man, we both know that in many cases it's pretty easy to correlate posters to players, more difficult yet possible with others, and sometimes agreed - impossible sans shared information. In the "middle category," where Petrify "doesn't fit" BTW (he shows a character name and guild in his sig), I seriously doubt Chrissay has enough free time to spend a lot of effort there, but who knows! But Petra, I only use one email address, maybe it's an old foggie kinda thing.
I use two different emails. So unless someone is using the same username here as they do on their uo accounts I don't see how they would know who it was. And it wouldn't be a good idea to use the same name on both.
