Indeed... and I rejoiced! But alas.. we have too few players who donate and the decay rate is murder!

We do have TAMER-PALOOZA 2 annouced.. April 13.. so that should again bring the zoo to the attention of the shard. I pray for a bigger turn out.. and a more steady attention span given to the zoo in general!

Thx for the amazing donations.. it was wonderful having 4 exhibits going.

I'll have the updated zoo numbers up in a few hours. Have collected them but we're babysitting grandkids and I can't do much more with them for the moment.

Does anyone know how many points per day you have to rack up at level 11 to keep from slipping back?

Below are updated figures from around 10:30 am Mountain Daylight Savings Time this morning (Saturday, March 29, 2008). The following nine shards, identified with an * below, successfully overcame the decay rate and had net increases from last week as follows: Europa (3,560,488), Catskills (1,571,198), Lake Superior (1,429,935), Sonoma (806,927), Wakoku (437,871), Great Lakes (336,357), Balhae (291,089), Yamato (109,388), Napa Valley (62,535), and Mugen (1,144). Very nice work, everyone! Congratulations to Europa for getting your silver steed back! Go go go Mugen! The last two weeks you’ve had an increase, after months of being my “control” shard for calculating the decay rate (i.e., no increases whatsoever). It’s very nice to see some signs of life on your shard!

No shards came within 97% to 99% of their previous week’s total. The following shards made an attempt to beat the decay rate and were within 90% to 96% of their previous week's totals: Mizuho (94%), Asuka (94%), Siege Perilous (93%), Izmuo (93%), Formosa (93%), and Pacific (91%).

The total points across all shards was 96,683,098. The net increase across all shards in one week was 1,369,181.

Kayne, I just had a chance to look at the Europa forum and read the couple of threads about the zoo. It looks like you all had fun and really pulled together to get that silver steed. The decay rate is just nuts though and I know it's going to be very difficult to keep that steed! Please encourage people to post about the decay rate in U.Hall and maybe one of these days we'll see it slowed down or some additional incentives offered to keep the donations coming in. Hopefully too after folks have had a little time to take a breather from all the work they put in, you'll consider some additional events that are built around the zoo.

Kudos to all of you on Europa! Very nicely done.

Note: I’m sorry I wasn’t able to collect the figures yesterday morning. We had the grandkids most of the day and when I did get a chance to play last night, I completely forgot about the zoo figures. So if your shard had a nice number in the morning yesterday, please accept my apologies for missing it.

Below are updated figures from around 11:30 am Mountain Daylight Savings Time this morning (Sunday, April 6, 2008). The following four shards, identified with an * below, successfully overcame the decay rate and had net increases from last week as follows: Chesapeake (329,881), Balhae (253,726), Mugen (62,432), and Siege Perilous (29,023). It’s nice to see increases on some of the smaller shards. Keep it going!

Atlantic came close to beating the decay rate, ending up at 98% of their previous week’s total. The following shards made an attempt to beat the decay rate and were within 90% to 96% of their previous week's totals: Mizuho (93%), Great Lakes (92%), Wakoku (91%), Hokuto (91%), Napa Valley (90%), and Lake Austin (90%).

The total points across all shards was 85,370,092. The net decrease across all shards in one week was 11,313,006. (The largest decrease yet since starting to track these numbers in November.)

For “historical” purposes, I’m going to note here that this week found many players participating in a large event in Moonglow that started about a week ago. Naturally that had the effect of leaving little time for many of them to pursue making donations to the Zoo. Thankfully, nothing from the events in Moonglow itself seem to have affected the Zoo residents! (Drachenfels, better keep an eye on that silver steed, though. Don’t want to lose it….)

Note: The graph shows a date of 4/5/2008 for this week's data, although the figures were actually collected on 4/6/2008. I haven't been able to figure out yet how to force the date to change to the correct one. Will try to get it right on next week's chart.

Edited to remove chart and fix a date in the second paragraph.

Doing the best i can but after 7 weeks of a full Zoo its going to be hard to keep it like this. Even more with the event going.

Between the struggle to get to the top wearing everyones enthusiasm down and the event happening Europa has dropped 2 tiers back to 9 and im almost certain it will continue to drop until it falls back to where it started.

Baja's tamer event TAMER-PALOOZA 2 happens today.. unfortunately by the time the weeks tally comes about.. the decay rate may have hit hard.. but we're expecting most of the shard's tamers and I hope to regain a tier! Not anything compared to the top tier shards, but fun for us none the less!

Come on over to Baja if you get a chance.. 3PM PST the firewand starter gun goes off and the race is on!
