I've tried and tried to use the client since it was KR and now its EC but I just don't get on with it. Surprisingly I did log in briefly yesterday via EC and found it laggy which it hasnt been recently.
I don't like most of the art in EC, the terrain mostly looks good and the statics but anything else is generally horrid.

EC, the classic one had a poor ui even when it came out.
EC for everything, even PvP.

EC, I like to be able to see the game window on 1920x1080, everything in the 2d client is just too small and restrictive. Plus the more powerful both in information display and actions user interface. Just wish they hadn't downgraded the graphics and am eagerly waiting the re-upgrade.

EC, except for certain tasks which I'm slowly weening myself away. I was in the camp originally that the EC is ugly etc. Well it's still kind of ugly in some respects but you get used to it. The functionality hands down beats the CC. Plus it's nice to run at 2560x1600 on my Dell 30"

EC all the way.... even PvP.
The only time I use the CC is when I have to trade and there aren't any of my CC friends on to arrange checks in a bag for me. Or when I'm checking a house design/deco job for a customer and I need to make sure it checks out in both clients.
Otherwise I totally enjoy the EC with Pinco's UI!

CC all the way now that I can run multiple cc at a time. Used to only use EC for tmaps and for 2nd account but since they upgraded the art of CC tmaps and can use multi clients for CC, there is no reason to look at the pastel nightmare that is EC.

Was looking forward to the EC when I heard about the macros and atlas, which I do like, but the graphics are horrible.
I do keep trying the EC to see if the graphics improve, but they don't. I can put up with the macros in CC and lack of an atlas, but I cannot put up with the horrible graphics in the EC.

EC only. I find it superior in every way.
The EC artwork is definitely not perfect, but with the exception of certain monsters, the CC artwork just looks silly and cartoonish for the most part.

I do like much of the old 2d art... however with a 42" monitor looking at the screen the size that's only 10x10 will NOT do. And I enjoy being able to zoom in and out in the EC.
And having everything soooo tiny or super distorted if I increase the size by decreasing my resolution is FAR too ugly.
I'd rather deal with a few silly looking mob graphics than looking at the world in miniature.
CC play only, as a rule, except for a few occasions where the EC zoom is nice while on ships.
The EC is just a poor client, particularly the video quality. It needs to go the same way Third Dawn did. Pinco was only able to do so much good for it. Without Pinco's UI I wouldn't bother having the EC on my computers. The dinosaur desktop or my new laptop.

That's what Grimm is in the process of fixing.
And I HOPE that all of the "EC is ugly" posters aren't the same ones who trot out the old "graphics don't matter" argument because you're only proving yourself wrong.

Graphics can't matter to anyone who currently uses the EC. The graphics are, to put it politely, poor. The CC graphics, while cartoonish, last century, or however you want to describe them, are at least clean and move well as you play.
To many of us, eye candy isn't the Ultimate must have!!!!! it is to some people.
I look for content primarily, the user interface second, and the graphics third. They only have to be clean. Caroonish or state of the art, they have to be clean. Which is where the EC fails vs the CC in a big way.

Yea and you still have to look at the fugly graphics in the EC. I don't care how much Pinco has improved the UI, your graphics are still substandard even compaired to the CC.

I have a cuz that totaly loved "Fraggle Rock" (1983) when she was a baby. Now she's fully grown up, her first baby is on the way. 30, I think she is now. And you don't like old things? Check your avatar, bay-beee!

I just have trouble using the EC, I'm too used to my macro setups and the way the CC works in general. I never have used any of the third-party tools, so any of those functions have never been a need for me either.
I always run it windowed and the sizing is fine on my 1900x1024 monitor, though clicking on some items is a bother especially if I'm in a hurry.
The thing that bothers me the most about EC coding is that fact that they can very easily test every single graphic item on their internal test servers in order to validate placement and axis in the client. They even can ASK decorator types to SHOW them graphic and axis problems so they can fix them.
I find it very disturbing that things STILL look different between the two clients and that some activities just don't work/look the same. It just doesn't make sense if it is as tested as has been implied.
Until they concentrate on those sort of things and completely fix them I really don't TRUST the EC.

I would have said "classic is End of UO".
Actually if you put some thought into the reality of UO and used two of your carefully chosen words twice you'd have "End of Classic is end of UO" which is obvious if you get off your EC soapbox and think on it.

CC is UO EC is so bad to look at it gives me headaches for real. Look if you can use and like EC fine. ITs good you do... but dont try to pegionhole the rest of us to it.
I can understand you want the Dev to make it the standard, this is a given that many like EC. The truth is EC is not holy grail to UO future.
Go back to 1997 in thinking, many of us elders joined UO not for its graphics but its other fine qualitys. Graphics is for looks, not content, the real hub of the game.

It only gets worse past that first impression. You might find it tolerable with Pinco's UI installed though. As is apparent from the few EC fans we have, it is possible. <shrugs>

so for me those type of opinions mean nothing!
They are from people who no matter what is done will be negative!!
to each there own for me ec is the only one i will play for others its the cc
as long as it keeps players in the game its all good for me
Now if we can get the EC fans to stop pushing to get the CC dropped.
Once CC fans don't have to defend their prefered client or put up with the insults, this subject should fade away quickly and we can all get on with our lives. in game & RL.
