When will the 50charge version of Compassion Dyes be on Uogamecodes?

50 charges?

Why would they sell 50 charges when they can probably get away with selling half the amount of charge for the same price! :wall:

Compassion Dye is probably the wrong name. We do not need the Dev to feel sorry for us. They are suppose to feel humility about their lack of ability to prevent such occurrences (Protect us from EA!).

It should be:

In earnest appreciation for your continuous support through the last few weeks we would like to offer a gift of Humility to all our players for our inability to make the transition smooth.

Just grow a pair and admit you guys screwed up.

I guess I'm not alone in being 100% disappointed.

1 dye, 1 charge, 0 choice. No chance to dye that full suit like the pictures... Why would they give us a showy picture of them all decked out in a fully dyed suit and then give us a dye bottle with one freaking charge? Slap in the face! Nothing like pouring salt on a wound.

Totally sad.

If these do ever become available for sale likely it will ONLY be to the Asian shards. Since 95% of the time that is the case. How long was it that they had Tokuno dyes for sale?

I guess on one hand I almost feel shocked at the total lameness of it all... but on the other hand having dealt with UO for all these year I suppose I should have expected to be totally let down and disappointed. One charge... yes I want to fill my houses with bottles of one charge dye... so I can have enough dyes to actually do something with sometime.

Ha! Now that really would be something. Present a one charge dye to get us hooked and then let us buy the rest. I really hope that's not the case lol!

1 charge is kindly lame. imho it would be a slap in the face if they sold 5 charges for 5 bucks.

on the flip side. 1 charge means many players will sell them so theres a good chance for trading cross shard or picking up the amount you need off vendors.

Remember this gift is from the DEV team...who in no way, shape or form have ANYTHING to do with ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT or BILLING.

They didn't HAVE to do anything, but they took thier time putting in a code and giving something nice.

Please remember the difference between a DEVELOPER and an ACCOUNTANT, thanks! :)

The developers still are some what involved. The back end database merge and integration to the new system would require them to provide some form of tech support/knowledge transfer to the people that developed the account migration process.

The accountant can not magic pull database merge SQL scripts/front end GUI out of their butt.

I supported that it was not entirely the Dev's fault but they have to bear some responsibility. Does accountants know how to move information from one database to another on their own? I think not.

The problems with the account management system were probably caused by the collective failure of a number of people: project managers, system analysts, and programmers who developed the actual specifications for the migration and did the programming; people in the accounting areas who were familiar with both the old and new systems; customer support leads and specialists who actually worked with the old system and now the new system as they interact with customers when they have problems with the system; producers for the individual games who need to be aware of and provide any needed support for projects external to their game that have an effect on their game; communication specialists whose job is to prepare announcements about the project and monitor forums and feedback mailboxes for evolving issues; and management personnel who oversee all of these different functions and make decisions about how to react as a company when any part of the company has made a major goof in providing products and services.

As Cal told us many times, various announcements he wanted to make were often delayed or revamped because he had to run them through other areas of the company for approval. You can be pretty darn sure that passing off these dyes as an apology for making some major blunders was not something the dev team did completely on their own. Someone at a higher level than Mesanna had to vet the announcement and the whole concept of using the term "compassion" in connection with the dyes.

EA thinks we're stupid sheep who can be easily placated by token gestures like this that cost them next to nothing to program. They just want this whole fiasco to go away quietly before large corporate shareholders and analysts who monitor the game industry get wind of the news that they made some major blunders moving some of their MMO games that are a source of ongoing revenue for the company from one account management system to another.

I was just telling my husband this last night. I also believed they were going to end up on gamecodes and the 1 charge was a clever advertising/enticement. They are supposedly part of the spring clean-up now, so maybe not.

I would like the ability to dye an object, and be able to remove the dye
safely into like an empty container. Then re use the dye on another item,
I have no problem with the 1 per account per shard idea. Perhaps bleach
to remove it and the ablity to reuse the original container it was in. Kinda
like refilling a water pitcher with water etc.
Just a thought that came to mind while reading this post.:D

Oh Boy!.... A one use dye....It's red ....None of My guys wear red.

OH well, I'll put it the box with all the one use TOT dyes.


Might be a Fall clean-up item one day.

Wonder if it will work on the new " Greater Sheep "

to top it all off, they dont dye alot of the stuff most of us wear...conjurer robe for example :)

I'm with you on this one. I was moderately pissed off when I looked at my precious little bottle and found out it had one charge. So I'm betting 10 or 50 charge versions will be for sale once they get the game codes working again, and all this was was a little advertising disguised as an apology. This is the first time I've really felt like the developers just flipped the bird at me...

And this was just too funny, and completely appropriate. :)

While I agree with you Tina, I also 100% disagree that the developers had ANYTHING to do with this.

Okay so some people can't access their accounts...that's not the Dev's fault, they write code to put cool stuff into the game, yes?

When a developer messes up, we get sliced bacon in our valentines boxes..I'm sure a TON of you remember THAT one...THAT is what you get when I dev messes up, some random item in the game that shouldn't be there.

When it comes to billing, UO Game Codes, upgrade codes...the devs are clueless.

They go 454=txr(gt)45 (Enter) BAMN you get a tree in your backpack

(No I have no clue how computer coding works lol but it's an example)

So even though they work for the same company, they don't work in the same department.

Take Illinois Bell...(phone company) My parents met there.

My mom worked in the department that took apart old phones and cleaned them and made them usable again, my dad worked in the department that painted pay phones.

Just because they both worked at the SAME place, doesn't mean they knew how to do each others jobs.

Does that make sense?

Like with any company, take a fast food chain..a person working the fryers isn't going to know how to go into the computer and manage the payroll...right?

To all the people complaining: Just do some cross shard trading. Make some friends on other shards, get some extra loot with the anniversary stuff coming up! Yay, winners all around.

Yes Cross Shard Trade.... so you can be scammed out of stuff on other shards... just what everyone wanted... more disappointment...

For every decent person out there willing to make a trade there are 5 hungry sharks willing to ruin your day.

I have friends on other shards.. but one thing I seriously don't need is 50 bottles of single use dye taking up vital storage space... wouldn't have been nicer to just get my single bottle of dye that is actually useful and has at least say 10 charges????? Rather than having to risk getting scammed by the hungry sharks who only want your dye to sell it?????

All profit for them nothing for you..... but a great big empty hole....

Yes just what I always wanted.

And yes it's happened already....

I agree! Right now my level of disgust is too high to chart. But wait this is supposed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.... *rolls eyes*
