What is worth keeping?

With the whole imbuing thing going on, what is actually worth keeping to imbue? I see stuff at Luna Vendors that are not much better than runic made items with 10 Mil price tags. So, when I am out hunting what should I be keeping?

Not sure how other people keep things, but here is what I do. I only will imbue rings and bracelets that I loot since armour and weapons from loot has a limit weight of 450 while exceptionally made armour and weapons have a limit of 500. As far as jewerly goes, I would look for those that have one or two properties that I want in a high range and nothing else and then imbue the other properties. For bows that I want balanced, I normally just use an Oak kit until I get a exceptional bow with just the balanced property (it will automatically have DI) and then imbue the other properties. I usually don't use a higher runic since it adds more properties and the odds of getting two or more mods that you want in the max range is pretty low.

While high end runic will produce items that will exceed the 500 weight cap placed on imbuing, the odds of all those properties being what you want is pretty rare.

I use the enhanced client with the Legacy mod. It adds the imbuing intensity on items at the bottom. I grab anything over about 350 for improving or unraveling and any other items with specific base property that will help my next project.

I've gone to pretty much 100% arti & imbued stuff on all the people I fight with. I make the stuff and gather the resources so it doesn't cost anything much at all. You're right that most things you see aren't better than val armor pieces. The difference is we are in complete control of every single imbue. You make this very specific set of pieces first with your tailor. They have to match up perfectly. It might take 2 days to make the pieces. Then, you can make precisely what you want with every single imbue. There's just no way in the world to make perfect armor any other way.

Imbued armor really is better. You asked what to keep. I don't keep anything I get except for blank fc 1 fcr 3 rings and bracelets. I LOVE those things.

loot everything, unravel dern near everything.

Has anyone tested item id to see what those changes on valuation look like. Are we getting more accurate readings by race and location now?

The ideal items are :

1 - High intensity/high mod items for unraveling (may get relics)
2 - Items with 1-2 mods that are both in demand mods and mods that REQUIRE RELIC FRAGS or SPECIAL ingredients to make

For example - with armor - Mana Regen 2 requires 10 seeds of renewal to imbue. I would rather craft a MR2 item with no other mods with spined runic and then imbue from there.

Similarly with jewelry - Fast Cast requires relic frags. a Ring with 1/3 casting and NOTHING ELSE is highly desireable.

HCI and DCI also use Relic Frags. So a ring with high HCI/DCI and NO OTHER MODS is valuable. I can take that 15/14 brace and slap on the other mods I desire without using relic frags.

I would go memorize the list of mods that require relic frags or tough ingredients to farm and look for loot with only those mods.

Thanks guys! That is VERY helpful! Gathering ingredients with a high luck suit sometimes means good loot. I just didn't know what good loot was these days.

The testing I did showed them to be very accurate. There are still discrepancies when you get right to 1 point over/under a level as the actual unraveling code vs. the item id skill code appear to round numbers differently.

I keep one other type thing. I keep weapons that I actually use that are 100% intensity fire, poison etc if they have no other mods or mods I can work with. You can do a ton of damage to say Miasma with 100% fire weapon you imbue scorpion too. Saves the mana from cw too.

I made a turkey killer out of a normal 100% poison bow. The 10 tile range kept me out of the eq range and the turkeys were really weak to poison.

I use the enhanced client...

This. Plus PGCD's and Gildar's Item properties mods that are also a part of the Legacy II and Copper_Enhanced packages.

Makes it nice and easy to determine unravel values, mods are color coded by intensities, and you also get useful speed and damage per second info on weapons.
