Whatever happened to it? With faction changes everyone seems upset they can't PvP as a blue. No one will accept the "just go red, you're flagged ALL the time for PvP" (They claim they're here to PvP so I laugh when people do not accept this as an alternative). My assumption is they would be mad they can no longer sit in guardzones at moongates with the blue brigade and single out red targets while calling guards on anyone daring to interfere (an entire broken system of it's own, please amend the battle flagging system). Don't argue this point if you're blue, because you're only exemplifying EXACTLY what I'm saying. Gate PvP is not PvP.
You do not have to be in factions to see oranges. We've all been here long enough to know who is in what guild, and what guilds are PvP oriented. Stop crying and war other guilds that are here to "PvP". If they turn down the invite, obviously their PvP remarks cannot be taken seriously, as they are just average guard/zerg crutching trammies.
Or is it the fact that the faction arties go above and beyond their PvM counterpart mod-wise (and at a MUCH cheaper cost) and it upsets people they can no longer have perfect (PERFECT) suits? I understand it was wrong of EA to leave a broken system implemented for so long and then suddenly, years later, fix it. Yes, it is expensive to fix because you have to replace an entire suit built around those faction arties that are no longer usable for the average player. Note average, because I know many people not struggling to wear their arties. All of these players are being rewarded for being ABOVE average, and by all means they are! Yes, it was a D*** move on EA's part to do this in such fashion, I won't argue with you there. Either way, if you want to continue playing to PvP you're going to have to re-do the suit. Drop factions and the statloss, form guilds for WAR. Or just go red.
The most viable solution I can see for factions is changing the arties to their PvM counterpart, drop the ranks some so more can wear it. A majority of people are AVERAGE and will NOT see the full/top tier rewards from a faction system that is working as intended (I'm not saying the current state is working, but rather how it is intended). This will leave a significant group of people to continue making their "I can no longer wear my gear" posts even if there is a point fix to get things back on track.
Factions are no longer the trammel equivalent of EM events, and this I am not sorry about. However, for those of you who have amassed small armies across multiple accounts, I am sorry that you have become a victim of a game that caters and listens to the wrong populations. PvP is the LAST thing this game has going for it, as it is the end-game content for competitive players. When the PvP dies, UO loses its last foothold.
