Warring other Guilds and Factions

Whatever happened to it? With faction changes everyone seems upset they can't PvP as a blue. No one will accept the "just go red, you're flagged ALL the time for PvP" (They claim they're here to PvP so I laugh when people do not accept this as an alternative). My assumption is they would be mad they can no longer sit in guardzones at moongates with the blue brigade and single out red targets while calling guards on anyone daring to interfere (an entire broken system of it's own, please amend the battle flagging system). Don't argue this point if you're blue, because you're only exemplifying EXACTLY what I'm saying. Gate PvP is not PvP.

You do not have to be in factions to see oranges. We've all been here long enough to know who is in what guild, and what guilds are PvP oriented. Stop crying and war other guilds that are here to "PvP". If they turn down the invite, obviously their PvP remarks cannot be taken seriously, as they are just average guard/zerg crutching trammies.

Or is it the fact that the faction arties go above and beyond their PvM counterpart mod-wise (and at a MUCH cheaper cost) and it upsets people they can no longer have perfect (PERFECT) suits? I understand it was wrong of EA to leave a broken system implemented for so long and then suddenly, years later, fix it. Yes, it is expensive to fix because you have to replace an entire suit built around those faction arties that are no longer usable for the average player. Note average, because I know many people not struggling to wear their arties. All of these players are being rewarded for being ABOVE average, and by all means they are! Yes, it was a D*** move on EA's part to do this in such fashion, I won't argue with you there. Either way, if you want to continue playing to PvP you're going to have to re-do the suit. Drop factions and the statloss, form guilds for WAR. Or just go red.

The most viable solution I can see for factions is changing the arties to their PvM counterpart, drop the ranks some so more can wear it. A majority of people are AVERAGE and will NOT see the full/top tier rewards from a faction system that is working as intended (I'm not saying the current state is working, but rather how it is intended). This will leave a significant group of people to continue making their "I can no longer wear my gear" posts even if there is a point fix to get things back on track.

Factions are no longer the trammel equivalent of EM events, and this I am not sorry about. However, for those of you who have amassed small armies across multiple accounts, I am sorry that you have become a victim of a game that caters and listens to the wrong populations. PvP is the LAST thing this game has going for it, as it is the end-game content for competitive players. When the PvP dies, UO loses its last foothold.

If you could lay down fields inside towns I think there would be more incentive to guild war. Otherwise it seems like an ideal dexxerfest.

Guild warring is very popular among several RP communities.. Namely on Atlantic, Catskills and Europa..

Sadly the guild war system is just as broken as factions.

1. All of my PvP mages are red. If a fight were to break out in Luna the only character I could take would be my sampire, or my crafter. If I would be lucky enough for a fight to break out near a bank in Fel I could go, but I wouldn't be able to get any X heals from my guildmates because they all would be guard wacked for that. So now fighting in Tram and in GZ is off limits. The only place I could fight is out of GZ, which I already do so what is the point of warring another guild to let the non PvP characters get attacked.

2. As someone else mentioned you can't lay any fields or do any AOE's in GZ so IF I were to have a blue mage there goes half of my spells.

3. Just like factions there is no good reason to have a guild war. If the winning guild were to get something (besides general chat bragging rights) some guilds might do it, but only if the top 2 reasons were fixed.

That doesn't sound like guild wars are broken. All I see are facts about AoE and field fields in guard zones and how it might suck to be a red PvPing in town, all that just applies to PvP in general. You don't have to fight in towns anyways. However why should there always be an award or incentive for PvP if it's something you like?

Oh, so people are mad they aren't safe in ALL facets, instead of just all but one. I get it now. I thought the insurance system was introduced for a reason.

It doesn't necessarily have to be item incentives. If reds could be healed by guildies/faction members in gz more people would guild/play factions. If faction fighters were allowed to actually fight in faction towns (that means x-heal and lay down fields and area spells) more people would play factions.
I think its stupid that in both fel and tram the main cities are empty and yet they would be the most fun places to have fights in. Hell even if they removed GZ from fel brit I think more people would be incentivized to pvp just cuz of the terrain/area.

There doesn't ALWAYS have to be an incentive for PvP, but every now and then it is nice. Personally I would like to see a guild be able to claim ownership of a Fel, non faction city, like Ocllo or Nujelm. If another guild wants to take that city then they would have to declair war on the owning guild. Who ever wins the war gets the city. But if they do something like that they would have to let reds be healed in GZ and atleast allow for AOE's. Honestly I don't see why they won't open up Luna and other tram facets to reds, and just turn the PvP off unless they are at war.

My personal opinion, with the direction this game has gone, the restriction of not allowing reds into any facet seems kind of ridiculous.
I like the idea of guilds claiming ownership on cities, could possibly be a very interesting system and give some attention to some of the ignored cities such as Ocllo.
