I prefer "Battle on Stones" over all the SE & ML music, and half of the older UO music. The new music for Buc's Den and Nujelm (which 've not heard names for - give us dawn's music gears, dammit!), is pretty good as well.
On the subject of Free games with "money" options...
I play Mafia Wars and Mobsters 2 on Facebook, and I laugh every time I hear of people paying for favor/Godfather points. The only points I ever got not from gameplay, was for subscribing to Netflix, which I was doing as a Christmas present for my family, anyway so getting favor points for it was a bonus for me....
Likewise, the only items I ever spent real money for at the UOgamecodes store, were things that permanently altered the account itself, not items (1 ML upgrade, 2 SA upgrades, and a 7th character/storage upgrade for one account). everything else came from boxed sets. The only Real-money transaction I ever made for UO with someone other than EA, was buying back the gold my guild donated to CrazyJoe's Tsunami auctions, before eBay/Paypal turned into asshats about how charities could use their services.

I've played Travian and had a blast... but it was only to break from UO for a bit. Nothing beats going out and slaying a dragon in UO and that's a fact jack!

Browser based games are kewl... and are quick money.... is why EA is dragging Ultima into it. They should do some other franchise though and concentrate on UO - the bread & butter of Mythic - and THE epitome of the franchise...

If that's for real, it shouldn't hold much appeal for graphics junkies. I'd say our 2d graphics are far superior.
I noticed that if you follow the links to get to the actual site and then try to proceed, the Registration screen says to login with your EA account information if you already have an EA account.
It wouldn't be so difficult for someone to set up a website that has "closed beta" slapped all over it to avoid having to provide additional information but then provide a registration form as a way to entice current UO players into providing EA account information.
I would be very very careful with this one, folks, unless and until someone from EA provides further details to confirm it's legitimate.

I don't know, Crysta. There's absolutely no mention of it on EA's Investor Relations page (http://investor.ea.com/index.cfm). And when you do a search in that section of EA's site, the only Phenomic game that comes up is BattleForge. (The only working link I could find for Battleforge in the official press releases is this one: www.battleforge.com. I think it must be on a server in Germany, which isn't surprising because it sounds like Phenomic is located in Leipzig, Germany.)
I don't know. A few of the sites I could find discussing this supposed new game apparently had screenshots at one point but EA asked for the shots to be removed. It does look like EA owns the lordofultima.com domain name, so maybe it IS legitimate and we just have to sit tight and wait for an announcement. Maybe this is why the UO team's been so quiet lately. Maybe they're the ones in the closed beta. LOL

I'm sure he still cares. It would be hard to be a part of Ultima and NOT care about it.

Just FYI: registration is open, I was just able to create an account and login.
Edit: I am no fan of such games, but this seems to be a solid build & expand kingdom kind of browser game. As expected, you will not find any Ultima lore in the game... ;-)

Since the links on the Lord of Ultima website just tell you you have to start a game to use them, I have to wonder if in spite of all the 'privacy policy' dialogue, somewhere in the terms of service or in some other fashion we may give them the right to use the sign-up info.
Somehow they are going to be paying the bills with Ultima Returns. the question is how.
