not sure if any of you noticed, but i was doing some cleaning of the stickies on the bard forum.
its been like 3 years and i thought i should do some cleaning.

i noticed something in the FAQ that needs to be cleaned up some.

the Bard Mastery stuff.

i see i put in the info straight off the patch notes.
then again when they tweaked them..... then again when they tweaked them..... then again when they tweaked them (ect ect ect)

so the bard mastery stuff is kinda confusing to read.

im gonna have to get in there and delete all that and get the most up to date accurate stuff for that.

then i thought maybe someone else in the community might wanna cut their teeth on that mission?
dont know if that sounds like fun to anyone, but i thought before i went and did it id offer it up.

just post here if ya wanna give it a try.
make yourself immortal, have a write up that will be sticked and remain in the internet archives forever with your name on it.... hmmmmm sounds tasty no?

i ask this just cause in years past the FAQ use to be a collaboration of a bunch of people.
and i noticed that more and more stuff in here just has my name on it, which makes it kinda loose something if the whole community isnt chucking stuff in IMHO.

If you stuck the patch notes for each change in one place that should do, I think all the changes made it into patch notes, if not I'd be happy to correct whats missing.

what im gonna do is cut and past the notes from pub 66-67 as those where the beginning.
them im gonna change the changes that came in with pub 68.

Bard Skill Timeout reduced to 8 Seconds, Having a bard mastery reduces all Bard Skill Timeouts by 1 second, and an additional 1 second for the Skill of the mastery focus.

Bard Mastery System – NPC’s can be found in the Music Conservatory in Fel and Tram

Bard players will be able to select one of three areas of bard mastery, each pertaining to one of the main barding skills. The mastery abilities will be based on the players’ skill in the associated area, but will NOT affect the current way the skill is used nor how the players interact with that skill.

Choosing / Obtaining a mastery:

Players will perform a quest obtainable from the quest givers in the Music Conservatory.
Players will be rewarded upon quest completion with a Spellbook containing the mastery abilities.
Players will be able to switch between the three different masteries by toggleing the Bard Mastery Book once every 10 minutes.

Mastery ability initiation.
Once players have chosen a mastery, the abilities are freely usable at any time and only have as requirements the skill and mana costs.

Mastery abilities:
Party must remain within range of the Bard to remain under the spellsong effects.
Bards may be interrupted when they receive damage while using their abilities.
A bard can have both their mastery spell songs active at the same time.
Abilities do not stack with themselves.
All abilities require upkeep dependent on how many are being affected by the ability.
Abilities will not check for Criminal flagging, so beware of your Party members.
Bards with secondary bard skills above GM (Real Skill) will receive a slightly reduced mana cost for spell song upkeep.
Bards with a mastery get a 5% bonus to their success chance at using any bard skills, and a 10% bonus to using the skill of their mastery focus.
All bard songs receive a slight bonus to their effects if the bard has additional bard skills over GM(Real Skill).
For the primary skills (Music + Mastery Focus Skill)
You get 1 point per 10 skill points above 90. (and since the minimum requirements is 90, you automatically are starting at 2 points - one from each skill)
So from musicianship and your mastery skill you have up to 8 points.
Your secondary skills (other bard skills than your mastery skill) you get 1 point per 10 points above GM, so thats a potential of 6 points.
The weighting of those points vary by spellsong and may be a factor or exponential.
For example:
Inspire would be weighted at 2 per point of primary skills and 1 per point of secondary skills.
So thats (8 * 2) + (6 * 1) for a 4x Bard to HCI/SDI -> 22%



Provocation: Title Exhilarator (These will be considered beneficial actions)

Inspire:
Words of Power; Uus Por
MANA 16, UPKEEP 5
HCI/SDI: 4 - 16 (Base) +1% Bonus per 10 points in a secondary skill above GM.
(So thats up to 22% HDI/SDI for a 4x Legendary Bard) (PvP Cap is still 15% SDI)
DI = 20 - 40% (Base) + 3% Per 10 points in secondary skill above GM (58% at 4x Legendary)



Invigorate:
Words of Power; An Zu
MANA 22, UPKEEP 6
8 To each stat (Base) +2 for each skill at 120 (4x Legendary = +14)
Hit Points increased by up to 20 (+2 for each skill at 120) (4x Legendary = 26)
Healing every 4 seconds; 4-16 (Base) , 4xLegendary (10-22)



Peacemaking: Title Galvanizer (These will be considered beneficial actions)

Resilience:
Words of Power; Kal Mani Tym
MANA 16, UPKEEP 5
Poison resistance increase(not the stat, does scale)
2-8 to all Regens(Base) +2 per 10 points in each of the three barding skills over GM (4x Legendary +22)
Curse Duration Reduction (Mortal, Bleed, Curse)
10-40% (Base), (4xLegendary 60%)



Preservance:
Words of Power; Uus Jux Sanct
MANA 18, UPKEEP 6
Casting Focus 1- 4 (Base) (4x Legendary = 6%)
DCI 2-16% (Base) (4x Legendary 30%)
Damage Reduction 2-16% (Base) (4x Legendary 30%)



Discordance: Title Desponder (These will be considered aggressive/negative actions)

Discordance spell songs are affected by the target's magic resistance. (PvP and specific Mobs only)

Tribulation:
Words of Power; In Jux Hur Rel
MANA 24, UPKEEP 11
Bonus damage is no longer physical. Its a flat % of damage taken.
Duration (5-11 rounds) - 4x Legendary =14 rounds
Bonus Damge (8 - 32%) Base, 4x Legendary ( 50%) (Discordance Based) (Chance to Trigger damage Musicianship Based) Damage bonus modified by 1.5 with Instruments
Bonus Damage Chance ( 15 - 60%) Base, 4x Legendary (84%)
HCI/SDI Debuff (5 - 20%) Base, 4xLegendary (32%)



Despair:
Words of Power; Kal Des Mani Tym
MANA 26, UPKEEP 13
Duration (5-11 rounds) - 4x Legendary =14 rounds
Damage (9 - 36) (Base) , 4x Legendary (48)

the FAQ is now updates with probably the most accurate info ever put into a FAQ!

(it might not be, but for the sake of argument we will just say it is!)

so if anyone comes in looking for help and we wanna be lazy we can just point to the FAQ, hehe
