Dear Dev Team:
Here are TWELVE questions for you to ponder:
1.) Why not just bring back FIVE ON FRIDAY? Having a post such as "FAQ Friday #4 - 10/08/10" just serves to remind us that we lost something we all enjoyed: FoF! Having a regular FoF posting helps those of us without extra hours to burn on the Forums feel just a tiny bit more connected!
2.) Do quivers with Damage Increase bonuses convey this bonus to characters not using bows / crossbows? If so, why? Why not have readily craftable cloaks with +10 % damage bonuses on them instead of having non-archers strap on a quiver?
3.) From everyone I talk to, the jury is REALLY out on the actual effectiveness of the Luck property. Does Luck REALLY work? Does it affect what shows up in a treasure map chest if the person who digs up the chest has a high luck value? Does Luck affect loot found on slain monsters in EVERY dungeon, INCLUDING the Underworld and the Stygian Abyss? Can a character with a "luck suit" with 2,000 luck on it REALLY expect to find better goodies than a character whose suit only totals 1,200 luck? Does having luck on what you are wearing affect mining, fishing, lumberjacking, or other trade skills? Does luck affect the loot found on Peerless bosses?
4.) Is there a timetable for fixing the Titles Menu? If you set the menu to the default setting (wherein your title should fluctuate with your fame level), the title system does not keep up. Even closing and reopening your paperdoll does not correct the problem. It is tedious to have to repeatedly update one's fame title manually...
5.) Is there a timetable for fixing the Primary and Secondary Special Weapon attacks? The game often returns an error message indicating that you don't have enough mana to use a given attack--when, in fact, you do!
6.) Will we EVER see the Consecrate Weapon Buff appear on the Buff Gump? Will the Buff Gump ever be corrected such that buffs and curses that "expire" always disappear from the gump when they should?
7.) What progress is being made in making items in the game that SHOULD stack stackable? Yes, SOME progress HAS been made, but there are still plenty of items that need to be made stackable, such as ancient pottery fragments, power crystals, fish food, chocolate-making ingredients (other than sugar), and even NEWER items, like blackrock stew and compassion sage! There is really NO reason to introduce ANY new item that players can be expected to collect in multiples without making it stackable! It doesn't just save room in our houses and backpacks and bank boxes--it helps the servers too--(translation: less lag!)
8.) Might we expect the loot on Renowned Mini-boss Monsters in the Stygian Abyss to be improved? It would seem to make sense, based on the effort that is involved to slay such a beast, that the "special loot" found should not be limited to ONE large gem, possibly ONE imbuing ingredient, and a miniscule chance at a rarer item! For example, why not make every Renowned monster surrender 10 Large Gems (e.g., White Pearls, Fire Rubies, etc.), PLUS 5-10 units of a random special ingredient (e.g., Crystal Shards, Relic Fragments, etc.), PLUS the normal, miniscule chance at the rarer item (e.g., Demon Bridle Ring, Tinkerer's Legs, etc.)? It would certainly balance the effort of defeating the Renowned bosses!
9.) Also along the lines of loot, based upon what slain lava elementals give as loot, and relative difficulties of the monsters being compared, shouldn't Fire Demons give substantially more gold and better chances at ingredients (etc.)?
10.) In the last several days, fixes were made that allowed some pieces of Gargish clothing and armor to become dyable--yet they still do not hold the dyed color properly. For example, a Garg-altered Tangle that has been dyed shows the correct color in the backpack, but NOT the correct color on the paperdoll. And, as long as colors and artwork are being corrected, would someone please restore the "sparkle" artwork for the various essences (e.g., Essence of Precision, Essence of Achievement), and fix the artwork on the skirt and the leaf tonlets so that these clothing items do not appear to be overly large for the characters wearing them?
11.) Might we see opportunities in the future for modifying the appearance of our Galleons? For example, what if we could add a mermaid or Poseidon to the prow of our ships? How about being able to add lanterns and stacks of cannonballs and other pieces of decoration and/or function? It would nice to be able to lock things down on the decks of our ships, and I also agree with the people calling for a shipboard trash barrel!
12.) Would it be possible to let us change the names and outfits of our ship pilots, please, like we do with vendors? I have yet to see any tiller man (or tiller woman) in any photograph, painting, or movie that stands at the wheel holding… …a blacksmith’s hammer!
