With the advent of Imbuing the magic item field has changed, as such I think its time we give enhancement success rates another look.
Right now, wood is almost 100% success rate (from my experience) while leather and iron are like 25% or less (depending on the item), and this sort of thing just is counter productive to the whole imbuing process if you ask me.
If I want to make LRC suits for my customers, plain leather is really not going to cut it for anything but training, and as to my willingness to lose probably 8-16 items to enhancement failure AFTER imbuing, when trying to make a 6 piece suit... it just begins to enter the realm of counter productivity as I waste resources. And that ignores the time wasted, and personal frustration.
At this juncture I see no good reason why all enhancement rates shouldn't be very high like wood. I mean we can now tailor items to our taste, so I don't see why its an issue at all, since I think the original idea was that not many people would have uber powered items, which showed a shocking lack of foresight, as we all know, because we all have them.
Oh, and give metal enhancement bonuses on par with wood as well.
Thoughts?
