Greetings readers! We have a large and very picture intensive 4th edition for you today! We'll be getting to know all about Escaflowne as he tells us about his past! He holds nothing back! But first we would like to remind you that the Word of Chaos not only covers the activities of the Hand but will also cover other stories of the Land! The incident in Yew tonight takes the headline for this issue! Enjoy!
The great Vincent Vega, governer of Yew called the land to arms tonight and many answered his call! The defenders of Britannia gathered at the Heartwood portal in the centre of Yew to investigate reports of suspicious dragon activities in the skies around the town.
It wasn't long before they found exactly what they were looking for! Just minutes into the patrol, a giant Ice Dragon of high intelligence and the ability to speak emerged from the forest; summoning an ambush of his young but deadly dragonlings!
Our fighters managed to repel the attack and slay the dragonlings but it was not over! Frosty tracks were spotted on the ground leading them into the nearby mountain pass.
They had stumbled upon the nest! As the group got into the centre of the pass the ice dragon Fundor launched an assault with his remaining dragonlings. A long and bloody battle of epic proportions followed as our land's defenders met Fundor the Fierce head on!
Finally the beast's corpse lay lifeless on the mountainside! The Britainnians had struck down their adversary with magic and steel. Yew's dragon infestation had been culled and the town is once again safe but be sure to remain vigilant everyone for these are dangerous times.
Escaflowne - The Man behind the Bear Mask
Hello everyone, voting for the governers begins this week so i thought i would tell you all about myself and my history to round off my campaign, so you know truly who I am.
I was born in Delucia in the lost lands. When I was very young my mother Synthiaflowne from the northern savage tribe was slain from an assault launched by the city of dead. For many years the defenders of Delucia and the savage tribe have fought side by side against this undead threat from the north, for both of their survival; even paladins have rallied to the cause and settled in Delucia.
I grew up only knowing my father Clarcaflowne who is the owner of the stables at Delucia and a grand beastmaster at that!
I followed my father's footsteps to become a beastmaster and as the eldest child received the family hierloom bearmask which I wear to this day and never removes!
My first task from many to come to be a great beastmaster was to travel into the caverns of the Delucian volcano and tame a beast! But I did not tame a beast, I tamed two and returned to my father with a pair of hellcats, Battlecat & Panthor; my two most loyal companions which I travel with even today.
When I turned 16 I left Delucia behind and set off on my final test to become a beastmaster. I travelled far and wide through ancient and foreign lands until my journy came to an end on Ice Island. I approached an icy cavern where from within a great white wyrm emerged in all her glory, Aryn the Frostweaver! After what seemed an endless struggle, stretching on for days, I finnaly managed to tame the mighty beast and my path of becomming a legendary beastmaster was now over....
When i turned 18 years of age, I wanted to prove my potetial and put my skills to use. I had heard of the fight for freedom occuring in Vesper. So my destination was set and the journy taken where I arrived in Vesper to join the might that was the Vesper militia. For many years I served the militia, working my way up the ranks until I became Captain and lead the entire Vesper army at it's helm. I fought in countless battles over my years with Vesper and lead my forces to Victory on numerous occasions; I feel this has given me great exeperience to take care of military matters in Minoc and the defense of the city if I become Governer. Here are some past examples of battles I have fought in.
After many years of service I decided upon a change and ran in the Vesper elections which I won and became Chancellor of the Republic of Vesper for a term of 6 months. Here I lead Vesper on the political side of things along with a council of peers. This gives me alot of experience to deal with the politics of being Governer of Minoc and to work effectively with the Royal Council.
After my time with Vesper was done I created the Hand of Chaos which you all know today. Some of you may remember us from when I ran in the Lord Protector elections a few years back in which I made it all the way to the final of the election but Alaster the Mad won the title in the end. It was a great campaign though.
And that is all my years of service. Yes I can be serious alot of the time but I am passionate about fighting for what I believe in! But there is a fun, artistic and even romantic side of me which I will share with you just this once.
I have been known to write poetry, I wrote this poem about Aryn the Frostweaver, the first white wyrm I ever tamed. It won me first place in a poetry competition in Trinsic:
'The Snow was white,
The day was cold,
There she lay,
A beast of old.
In a cave next to the sea,
I froze as her beauty stunned me,
With wings spread like sails,
She stood tall in the icy gale.
Reflecting the sun with her great white scales,
Covering her body to the tip of the tail.
And if you travel to Ice Island,
She can be seen in the skies above flying,
Watching over the creatures below,
So brave, so noble, with a pure white glow.
Her eyes shimmer blue and breath numbing to feel,
With razor sharp claws of glacial steel,
Aryn the Frostweaver is her name,
A great white wyrm that feels no pain.
And so about her this poem i told,
Never have i met a being so bold....'
I have also had a love life! And not with bears as many of you may think. I've proposed to two ladies in the past.
The first didn't go too well, she took the bear in the divorce; it ended rather ugly. But the second was my lovely elven beauty Gwen of Trinsic and owner of the Trinsic Rose Inn. I am actually a romantic at heart and miss her deeply.
As you can see there are other sides to me which many might not have seen! I have had many experiences over my time! Alot of which I hope can help me if I became governer!
I have loved and I have lost.
I have stared death right in the eyes!
I have been attacked by mushrooms!
I have watched the late King Casca poledance on stage!
I have thrown bears at Alaster the Mad in Lord British's throneroom!
I have been pooped on!
I have streaked across Britannia!
I have dressed up as a gorilla and attacked Trinsic!
And i've sailed a boat through god damn Castle Blackthorn like a boss! How many of you can say you've done that!
Well thats a little bit about myself for you all to take in! Hope you found it interesting at least. I'd like to wish Lord Lien Ragus good luck in the elections for Minoc; he is a great man and a worthy opponent.
