Popps, I give you for your enlightment, a mostly monochromatic rendition of ATTEMPTED MURDER IN HEARTWOOD!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy!
Did you try using a non direct attack like using with high mods and GM alchemist some explosive potions and deadly poisons ?
There is a delayed effect and by the time the guard acts the potions should have landed on the target.......
Does thieving prompt guards intervention like a direct attack ?
Or can it go unnoticed at high levels of the skill ?
It's an Easter egg. If you place something in a leather bag, no matter the item, you can drop the leather bag on a tamed goat (or mountain goat) and it'll eat the bag and it's contents. So, you could fill a bag full of junk, then drop it on the goat, and it would work like an instant trash barrel.
I was there two nights ago fighting some oranges, but couldn't attack the blue with them and my guildie got guardwhacked. I was on an archer and he was on a mage. When I came back with my mage, I did have to precast, but once in Heartwood I kept getting the message "You cannot cast that spell in town" or whatever it is every time I tried an offensive spell.Am I reading this right? Are you actually saying that the Fel facet of Heartwood has the tram ruleset??????????
If so, LMAO. You are horribly wrong.
You can kill, or at least attempt to kill any player in the fel Heartwood.
You can steal, or at least attempt to steal from any player in the fel Heartwood.
No faction or guild requirements whatsoever!
Of course if you ever traveled to the Fel Heartwood and tested this "theory" you would have known this.
You in Tram or Fel?I was there two nights ago fighting some oranges, but couldn't attack the blue with them and my guildie got guardwhacked. I was on an archer and he was on a mage. Sounds like you might be getting "Tram Ruleset" confused with "Guard zone"I was there two nights ago fighting some oranges, but couldn't attack the blue with them and my guildie got guardwhacked. Sometimes I laugh at all the stupid things I know.I've been here for over 11 years and also didn't know that a goat would eat items! I tamed one. He did. I fed him a discarded cloak in a bag. He ate it. I also fed him a pair of sandals without a bag. He ate those. (Goats could be of great benefit to fisherman, I see right away!) Tried a wizard's hat without a bag, which he would not eat. Having a fun night feeding stuffs to goats, the only positive effect a scripter has ever had on my UO experience, albeit indirect.
Yeah, that would make sense. heheSounds like you might be getting "Tram Ruleset" confused with "Guard zone"
Just a thought![]()
That dude was there like 4 days ago but I stole his boards (over 20k on the ground)CONGRADULATIONS EUROPA ON JOINING THE CLUB !!!!!!!
Aug 31 2009 just before server down.
spotted the operation in full effect.
the dude with the 5 packies had just pulled out and i had just scooped the 20k boards off the ground and ferried them off screen for hiding, the goat was there but he logged the toon with the goat when he noticed the wood 'gone'
so congrats on joining the few elite shards that have the factory !!

Did you say tools? What kind of self respecting thief would stoop to stealing the cheap tools? Not much profit there...go for the resources!!Has any one extended a courteous invitation to the residents of the thieves board with this problem?
Seems to me a concerted effort to deprive the bots of their tools would put a stop to this without breaking any rules?
Erm...correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the script/program being used in this case needs to manipulate the packets in order to work?As long as UOA and bots work by sniffing & injecting packets, this sort of thing will be common.
You can as long as either you are red or they are flagged. If you're blue or gray and they are blue, it wont workCan you toss explosion pots at them?
That's what I thought would happen. There's like 7 Npcs standing here where I'm working in heart.Popps, I give you for your enlightment, a mostly monochromatic rendition of ATTEMPTED MURDER IN HEARTWOOD!!!!!!!!!

(Regina survived unscathed, in case you were worried about her welfare.)
Not really. Heartwood IS a Tram ruleset with a guardzone, but it's more than that, It's a mixed bag of rules in Fel, where reds can't go, but you still see OJ's and can attack.Sounds like you might be getting "Tram Ruleset" confused with "Guard zone"

A blue can attack another blue in Fel, using many different methods but this isn't the case in Heartwood and since it's an actual city you can't use a lot of the offensive methods, but you can still get guardwhacked.
That is correct, however REDS and FLAGGED players CANNOT enter Heartwood. So it may not be a "Tram Ruleset", but only Blues can enter!*rolles eyes*
If you can attack blues and steal from people it is NOT a tram ruleset...
Have you everthought, that this is what some people enjoy doing? Whats made UO such fun for years is that you can do what ever you decide to do, its a wide open world. There are people that absolutely love the challenge of trying to do something.I don't understand these people. Surely there are better things to do than script in UO. I mean, seriously.
edit: And by "better things", I mean more profitable ones, if that is their MO.
Well I'm sure we all knew that reds couldn't enter Heartwood, hence the existence of the sanctuary. Are we sure about the flagged not being able to enter though? Could have sworn I had my thief entering and exiting whilst gray. That is correct, however REDS and FLAGGED players CANNOT enter Heartwood. So it may not be a "Tram Ruleset", but only Blues can enter!
very astute Poo. We went to all the trouble of excluding trial accts from reams of non ML activity, and then when we open ML activity to all accts in prep for SA, we failed to restrict trials from heartwood or ML dungeons.in lookint back at the picture i wonder something.
notice how all of them had 1000 gold, a candle, a book..... thats all new toon stuff.
is there not a 'come to brit for 14 days' event going on right now for the outing of SA?
are we back to the 14 day trail account scripters again?
Huh? EA restricted Trial accounts from repeating the repeatable quests. The Heartwood quests being a repeatable quest.very astute Poo. Quests
* Cannot repeat normally repeatable quests
No [young] tags among them, so I'd say it's more likely someone has been planning ahead.Huh? EA restricted Trial accounts from repeating the repeatable quests. The Heartwood quests being a repeatable quest.
I posted the link to the big list of restrictions earlier in this thread.
And here it is.

I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong, but I bet it got missed because as non paying, non upgraded accts at the time of the publish these quests never made the radar and it never went through QA. I could be wrong. No [young] tags among them, so I'd say it's more likely someone has been planning ahead.

Nor does it mean that it is a trial account either popps. lmao
A character on a payed account with young status should not have any restrictions at all.
Tina, being young or not doesn't make any difference. Being young shouldn't make any difference in how you can play the game. It's whether or not the account is a trial account.
Trial accounts are the ones that have restrictions that prevent them from repeating certain quests, owning houses, etc. Trial accounts are accounts that are not being payed for and are simply 14-day trials. After the 14 days are over you have to pay to continue playing. Or if you wish to own houses, etc, you have to pay.
A character on a payed account with young status should not have any restrictions at all.
Good point.A new account does not necessarily make it a trial account. I believe trial accounts all use a code starting FREE-UOKR-xxxx-xxxx during account creation... any other code used to create an account and its not a trial or at the very least not a kingdom reborn trial account.
Ah, okies. N/m thenI agree. Just wanted to squash any ideas or confusion certain people seemed to have that "young" characters couldn't do these quests.
I will still try to give them a try later today with purchased items and see if the quests can be repeated. Am not about to set up a trial account to test anything though. I have enough paid accounts already and am trying to close the darn things.
