Stealth @ 120 - Is it worth it?

Just wondering, is it worth it to gain stealth up to 120? Or will 100 suffice?
Is the only advantage getting 4 more steps? (100=20 steps, 120=4 steps).

Just wondering, since I just GMed stealth, and was wondering if it made sense to go higher.

Eh, not really. All 120 will do for you will make it so you can walk 2 more steps before stealth starts again.

It may make it a little harder for you to get revealed while moving, but that might be the only significant change.

This thief has 120 real stealth. He attained it for purposes of movement at spawns, to less be revealed by creatures. This happens, but not amazingly so. Now he keeps it because of the work, not so much because of large dramatic difference. If you have 100, that is sufficient in this opinion. Even 80, for the shadowstrike, is enough.

More so than just being able to take more steps you can get away with some heavier armor than just medable. I took mine to 90 and with the shadow dancer legs and the burgular's bandana I'm at 120 with pionts to put elsewhere.

I have the burglar's bandana, putting me at 110 Modified stealth... so I think that will do nicely. I'd like to get the Shadow Dancer Legs... where can you get them? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on vendors.

Shadow Dancer's legs spawn on the Doom boss.
But if you have the money, just spam at the bank or look on vendors, should be much quicker that way
Also check the trade forums for your shard.

Shadow Dancer adds a nice +20 to both stealing and stealth so I keep my real skill stealth at 80 and stealing at 110 (just for the nice title )

Ah thanks for the the tip Viper. Do you have a range of how much they run for? Hopefully not outrageous (I don't have much money coming back from 4 years away). If I have a price idea, then I can barter on that instead of just taking the first price that comes.

It really depends on your shard. I got mine not long after AOS, so I was one of the first thieves who had them, at least on my shard. So I don't really know where to start right now for prices.

if your shard is like mine- you will not find them on vendors. Owners are insanely jealous of them. They are an odd item. You will likely have to post and ask to buy.

On ATL they'll go for between 2 and 3.5 mil. A shame, because i bought mine for 800k 8 months ago.

Now if only stupid elfs didn't reveal ya. I had one guy he was on top of the Britain bank he used the teleport down. Landed near me i was revealed just like that!

If you are patient, you can usually find them for a pretty good deal. They are worthless to most people (i.e. since they don't play a PvP thief).

That said, 120 NATURAL stealth is not worth the skill points. If you have +items that give you 120 then, yeah that works. But, you can squeeze those extra 30 to 40 points into much more needed areas.
