Something positive... what's your favorite thing about UO?

My favourite thing is that there is room for so many different playstyles in UO. You want to be a nasty pvp'r? You can do that. You want to dress up your toons and play house? You can do that. You want to tame vicious beasts? You can do that. You want to collect stuff? You can do that. And the list goes on and on. UO has the most depth and variety in its game play that I have seen in any MMO. No other MMO I have played even comes close.

Sure we have our fair share of bad apples, but by and large the players of uo (catskills in particular) are some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Playing with my hubby, my friends, and really just the overall diversity...I can sit and deco my house, run a vendor house or go hunting.

UO is a great game for making friends and practicing generosity, adventure, arts and crafts, and sharing.

We have made so many friends across different shards trading and crafting. Sometimes I see people get caught up in the "combat side" of the game and they don't seem to transition to the great interaction within the player base community which is UO.

I know there are many other games with great "bling" and "glitz", and sometimes they look good. But I know they lack what makes UO special to the many of us over these years - that "thing" which brings so many vets back saying, "why is it I can't seem to really leave UO" - it's the community player base.

The crafting system is by far the best I've experienced in any MMO that I've tried. SWG was decent, but was too limited. I like my Mules to be able to have more than one specality. My mule in SWG was only able to produce med's and buff backs. While that made me very rich very quickly, it was boring.

Between my 2 UO mules I have just about every crafting skill in the game covered.

I love the sense of community u get in this game, also the pvp in factions is something i hang around for

Two words: No pressure.

Other games, fun though they might be, I just feel this push to level and can't just kick back and enjoy myself. Can't relax and RP, can't do anything that doesn't involve the push to the top. I can only play and work on one character at a time, any more than that and I start stressing myself out.

In UO I do feel a desire to get a characters build "finished' but its nowhere near as intense. I can spend a whole afternoon setting up my house just right or harvesting resources and not think about what I specifically need to do at the next level. No "Ok, when I hit six I need to do this and then at ten this NEEDS to happen so I can hurry my way to eighteen so I can do this."
Just harvest, craft, hunt... Doesn't matter, just do what seems natural next.

Bank sitting... watching the pixels for about a hour as my mind aimlessly contemplates what I should go do over agian. Then the booze kicks in and I find a couple neurons kicking off to use my imagination and go do what the hell ever i want without any limitations.


Then I get killed and start over at square one bank sit for another hour

There's no other game that gives you such a variety of items to decorate with.

Freedom. It's really an easy answer for me. There isn't another game out there I know of that allows you to do pretty much anything you want.
