I, Smoot, will be running this term for Governor of Britain!

There is about 1 week before the election process starts so i am formally announcing my plans!

As Governor i will employ the Guild of Assassins for my entire term to help the good citizens of Britain protect themselves from ever threatening scourges of Sosaria. Gold to cover my full term will be added to the town stone upon my election day.
Save up to hundreds of millions utilizing the free 5swing speed increase town bonus for your pvm swordsman, archer, or pvp blue / factioner.

In my travels through Sosaria as of late i've noticed the encroaching threat of vampires seems to be ever present.
As Governor i will not rest until the threat of vampires has been eliminated, so the good living humans, gargoyals, elves, even choco-pires may sleep easy after dark.

Near the town stone today i witnessed this threat first hand.

I barely escaped with my life, as i was not expecting to need battle gear or armor within the town limits. Thankfully i had a stake at hand and dispatched the crazed bloodthirsty creature. A stake thru the heart.

Upon further inspection i noticed a movement, and saw a ball of fur hidden within the fiend's meager belongings. A puppy! No doubt to be dessert for this horrible creature after a main course of three or four Britainian citizens. I then sat and ate my late dinner as the rescued puppy slept soundly by the fire. Both of us exhausted from our brush with Death.

If you are tired of a vacant Britain Governor's Stone, would like a useful Trade Deal at all times,
and a Governor dedicated to his citizens Vote For Smoot.
If not, vote for the other guy whomever it may be.

A Vote For Smoot is a Vote for Humanity

I will be running a campaign based on Vampiric elimination throughout Britian and Sosaria. I'm pro chocolate & marshmellows, and pro puppy, and will keep the Guild of Assassins swing speed trade deal active full term.

Catskills.
Britain seems to have had a fine Governor this term. Saying that a Governor has not been present is well...A lie. I do not think a lying Governor should be elected. ;)

The way I read it he didn't say that the governor was absent, he said empty stone as in trade deals on the stone itself.

He didn't say that the Governor was not present, he said that the stone was vacant, ie: without any available trade deal.

It's funny, I was just complaining about how Catskills doesn't have enough ice cream cones and public urination ...
As Governor of Britain i would support legislation to provide tax breaks for all peddlers of ice cream cones, as well as free range grass fed cows to assure for the tastiest of delicious creame flavours.

Public urination is frowned upon, however citizens may choose to apply for a permit after the successful completion of a short grammar test. Permits may be granted or denied on a case by case basis (usually denied) One (1) "emergency" pardon granted per year per citizen. Penalty for public urination is 8 hours cleaning Britain's stables.

Hail Fellow Catskillians! Nominations for Governor are fast approaching. I thought id take a few minutes to give you all a little background about myself, as i am a new face to many of you.
Ive enjoyed uo since the beginning and while i've played other games, taken breaks here and there, UO remains the most rewarding mmorpg ive ever experienced.
From a lowly band of ruffians in fighting bears in whatever armor we could find, to murdering unfortunate and unsuspecting passers (skara brae road was my favorite) to amazement at new armor, skills, new foes to be conquered throughout the years UO has been a game that never ceases to keep one occupied with fun.

I enjoy all aspects of the game. Some players strictly PVP, stick mostly to PVM, crafting, decorations/rares, or spend most their time using the game as an outlet for creative and exciting roleplaying. I enjoy them all. Making armor and crunching the numbers, collecting and decorating with the shiney pixels, seeing a great storyline play out, testing my brawn against peerless (or mongbats and bears)
I've adjusted to the game over the years and am knowledgeable on the current gear and template options, and am eager to help anyone who seeks help building a character, or just isn't sure what stats / jewels / weapons in the plethora of options and loot is good to use, might fetch a high price, or work into a specific template.

Ive been involved in formal RP (and lots of very informal) for a number of years. Everything from Egyptian Lore, Alliance Council meetings, trials, to RP guild wars, RP PVP combat training, to Ninja clans, seafaring guilds. Ive played characters that have been "casual" rpers, as well as much more challenging and in depth characters, such as an Atlantic evil rp guild, staying in character at all times while in the game.
I'm excited about where RP may take me on Catskills. "Smoot" im sure will find some sort of commotion to get into whatever the outcomes of the elections are. It seems opportunities for rp plots and interaction abound in the playerbase of the shard.

I'm often available, feel free to icq me at 442212126 for anything. gameplay, rp, help with a spawn or peerless. just to chat. anything.
I look forward to having fun with awesome, diverse fun people. That of course is what really keeps us all playing the game and what truly matters.

@Dag Nabbit You may be in the clear as thusfar no one has chosen to run against Ouija in Skara.
If you protest the rule of per account, please let @Mesanna know. She was trying to help and I think the new system harmed some folks more than helped.

The one per account rule has certainly made it more important to choose which city you want to vote in, and has stopped a lot of people from being able to vote in elections that interest their characters. I'm not sure if it addressed the issue they were trying to fix when they implemented it though. If anything I think the change to requiring loyalty to the town fixed more problems then making it one vote per account.

As of five minutes ago, both Jhelom and Skara have only one person running for the governorship for each city. So for this election cycle, any concerns about voting in each town I have loyalty in is moot.
