Maybe Broadsword should just buy a "free shard" that has been recoded for them thenYes I know but it's a completely different type of code. It's not as simple on production shards to implement as it is on those free shards, just like the Dev team couldn't stop the encryption/non encryption of 3rd party programs as easily. It would take a rework of the engine. The core code is more efficient on free shards."less jumbled". Production code is interweaving code over code over code..so to say. Probably partially due to laziness of past Devs imo..

I'd go just to haunt it.Maybe Broadsword should just buy a "free shard" that has been recoded for them thenThe only problem that I could see is that non of them are current with today's UO
I wonder if they opened up a new shard, even if it was with todays rule set, no transfers on or off, updated code with anti scripting/hacking measures in place. Would it be busy with people starting over from scratch? Given that no transfers could be had would duping even be an issue then.
I stand correctedActually it's not adult rated anymore, it was changed to a T (13 years old and up) rating when the bounty system was removed more than 10 years ago
Look at the very bottom left corner of www.uo.com for proof. It says Rated T for blood, use of alcohol, and violence.
....and again you miss the point and then bend the actual truth of it. its not about the Smack Talk, its about plain flat out Vulgarity and Blatant Cheating !!!I stand corrected
But it only makes my point even stronger.
Blood, alcohol and violence. Violence of the killing and looting of dead bodies nature and a few sensitive people can't handle smacktalk which can be easily avoided?
*chuckles*
I didn't bend the truth or miss any points.....and again you miss the point and then bend the actual truth of it. its not about the Smack Talk, its about plain flat out Vulgarity and Blatant Cheating !!!
PS. Speaking of Sensitive people it would appear this tread has hit a sensitive cord within Certain Folks:loser:
on the wrong side of the coin per usual.I didn't bend the truth or miss any points.
You started this thread by repeatedly calling people dirtbags because what they say ingame apparently offends you. I happen to think starting a thread by calling random people dirtbags is mildly offensive.
I clearly suggested that you temporarily drop out of genchat and/or temporarily leave whatever area the supposed dirtbags are in.
That apparently is not a workable solution for you so I believe that you may in fact be overly sensitive to other peoples playstyle/comments.
Thats cool and ofc just my opinion but I just am not sure why you are asking mesanna and the devs for help with your personal issue.
If you happen to turn your television on and there is a particularly vulgar scene on do you sit and watch it in horror while complaining at the same time or do you simply change the channel and be rid of it?
I am fairly certain that you can return to that same channel a short time later and find that everything is ok.
Do you call your cable company though complaining of the vulgarity I wonder?
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xCkhE5RHy...stupidest+F'cking+thing+I'll+read+all+day.jpgMaybe they should look into alternative solutions. Maybe take whatever character has been proven with out a shadow of a doubt to be in violation, take there skills and make a clean sweep, (Delete all skills off that character) I bet they would quit real quick. If found guilty on numerous occasions the whole account would have there skills removed off every character.
I have only been back to the game for a very short time, but I haven't seen the trash talk. I am play Atlantic and as a player stealing thief. There has always been trash talk; I guess I've gotten used to it. I guess the key is to learn how to not be offended by the speech of others. If you don't like how someone is treating you in game, walk away. When I started playing 15 yrs ago there was very little Foul language or harassment in game and this is for 1 reason and 1 reason alone, GM Policing. Dirt Bag smack talkers didn't last long and/or cleaned up they're act. Cheats and Scripter were always in fear of being Banned.
Todays UO is an utter disgrace in the fact that Dirt Bags speak in such a manner that would make most Truck Drivers blush. Scripter/Cheats laugh at the TOS and run rampant over the Game. Bonnie and the Gang say there is little that can be done but that is absolute BS in its purist form, and they know it. Until a REAL effort is made to Policing the game again no expansion pack will help revive the game to some semblance of what is was and what it was intended to be.
I've been away from UO for quite a while (moved across country, life, work, family). I got a new computer in December and just now realized I didn't have a UO client installed. I thought I should at least check on my house periodically until interest and time allow me to return. While waiting for the client to update (been 30 minutes so far and that's on fiberoptic super fast internet), I thought I'd peek at the forums.1. Turn off Gen chat
2. ignore players
3. dont let words hurt you
4. dont feed the trolls
5. Kill people with kindness
6. Dont worry about what other people are doing
If all the above fails go kill some monsters and imagine its the particular players you hate.![]()
