Better than everyone else? lol...what...we have ways to do what you want based on tools that are already in the game.
my GARGOYLE thrower cant wear those earrings
What's your point...my human/elf needs a pet or 100-120 skill in ninjitsu to move at mount speed reliably, and Gargoyles have a higher resists base on their armor which makes it easier to build suits w/ night sight included. Imbue it, or find another way. I did it for my Gargoyle and solo'd blackrock golems when they came out. Hit them for 265 damage w/ crits and when I died, I used close wounds, hit my fly button, used all names to get my corpse name, dbl clicked my corpse name, continued to run at mount speed, hit last object macro as I got next to my corpse, then went back to regroup. Not that hard to operate in the dark. You ever train 120 ninjitsu? Far worse than the screen going dark after you die on a Garg.
you dont get the FULL night sight effect.. its still dim just not as dark.. also they last about 10 to 15 minutes.. so after awhile things get dark again.. and if you die?? you gotta go all the way back to your corpse, in the dark.. on my screen its almost pitch black, then hope they didnt get looted as most monsters take them, right after the gold you were carrying..
Night Sight is the equiv. of like 50 magery base. It's better than nothing if you're incapable of getting night sight any other way. This is 2011, right? I still use night sight pots on some shards I play where I'm developing the characters and I lack strong economy. I play probably 10 shards, actively. But now that I can get earrings on every shard I'll probably stop using pots as much. Not sure how long the duration is but even Elves lose night sight while in a spawn region (bug), and there are just some in-general things the devs never fixed. What you REALLY should be asking for is for Night Sight potions to have a higher equiv. base and for the devs. to fix night sight glitches in general. As for looting, the worst thing is when you lose bandaids. You should be able to use All Names and object handles to navigate dark areas in the meantime, and if you lose everything you couldn't insure, guess what? You died, get over it, you're supposed to have a chance of losing stuff when you die and the game is supposed to be dark sometimes ;P (except for how easy it's been to get night sight items since 2008).
If you still have problems and you don't want to deal with a game being dark--even though it's silly how easy it is not for a dungeon to be dark anymore in UO (or for that matter complaining about death, as if there should be no consequence for death or no loss of any kind in this game)--grab a lantern and insure it or use an old blessed one. Shrugs. Will light the way for you. But if you don't have an all names and a last obj macro, get them, and being in a guild helps a lot, green versus blue on corpse name. If all else fails, consider the Sacrifice virtue, or if you just don't care at all, turn up the brightness on your monitor and/or look at your screen at an angle until it appears lighter...
Why do people say stuff like I think I'm better...I've played over 12 years and people say **** like "I guess you've never used night sight potions"...lol sigh I remember when I couldn't even afford night sight potions because they'd get looted by other
players, wtf is this "oh no, the spawn looted me..."...journeyman swords in bone armor hunting dragons with my GM, being amazed by his high 80s magic resist. lol
