Seeing a small group of role-players heading through Ice dungeon, all wearing GM crafted armour a couple of months back... near brought a tear to my eye it did.
Sadly for me, it's one of the key reasons I crave a classic shard option. Sorry to offend those anti-classic people by bringing this up, but there we go, wave your pitchforks all you like...
Literally, I wouldn't have such a problem with a lot of the post-AoS item changes, had they been implemented properly and some form of continual and
working pattern established.
As it is, every "new" change that comes, renders something else obsolete or worthless. Quite frankly, I find the game in its current state, a mess.
Sadly, the one thing that's inherent in any game that chooses revolve around item-centric content, is the need to bring out new items and content, followed by more new items and content... so on and so forth.
The net result, is that we have a "world" that's like looking into a wreckers yard. Plenty of examples of the bygone years... items, skills, dungeons, etc... but most of them worthless now.
What I would ask, is once the masses are bored of the latest fad of imbuing, or of exploring the latest content areas such as Ter Mur, The Underworld and The Abyss... what then? What next?
Another expansion that renders the previous one and its content obsolete and worthless?
