yeah that's my point the patch notes should say 12 ticks not seconds hehe, because the way strangle is supposed to work is on ticks (or, the power of necro / 10 for a max power of 12, which does the 5...4...3, etc.)

I CANT AGREE MORE

Strangle is one of my least favorite things about this game. it is a crutch for players who need to have a constant advantage over their opponent. and against a mage its just plain annoying. I am almost forced to have chiv on all my chars or just be strangled constantly

It's all look good and I look forward to see the effect of the runic changes on Siege, hopeful several crafters will wake up and start playing again. It will make it easier to make a 100% intensities even for low level runic and that is great.

I don't really like this one "NPCs now vocally acknowledge a BOD turnin", it may mean more crafters will get killed in town when turning in BODs and that will hurt young crafters. It is possible to kill players in town so I don't like this. It will also tells thives, that there may be goodies in the players bag.

theres a number of counters to strangle, I already replied to another anti-necro person on the 2nd page

and no it wasnt "buffed" it was a bug fix as the formula for it was incorrect for 120 spiritspeak. 1 extra tick isnt enough to come up in arms and cry murder on stratics

Something is missing on that list.

When you turn in a colored BoD you WILL get a colored BoD back. That is what was said in a previous post.

My only question is normal leather a color?

Ok, let me respond here publicly regarding these changes. Some of my opinions I will get flamed for here but I have what is best for the game in mind.

<u>Increase in Colored Bod Percentages</u>
Much needed and a good change. Can't acurately test cause no completed bod books on TC1 but percentages look like a nice bump. Getting more Val runic bods is a good thing too.

<u>Bod Turn in Timer</u>
This is dumb. The idea is likely to try to 'stall' people who turn in alot via scripting or whatever. Bottom line - scripts will adjust to timer and those players are not at the computer so it doesn't matter if its a 5 second or 50 second timer. Their script can turn them in all day long. I only have a few hrs to play and I put them in books of 100. Waiting 10 seconds between them will drive me nuts. Don't hurt the honest players. If you want to curb scripting - curb the number of turn ins per smith to 100 a day or something. Not a timer.

<u>Runic Intensity Change</u>
Ok, I campaigned for this change for A LONG TIME. I am VERY happy to see it in play - but Wilki went too high on the intensities. You do need a bump to make low end runics worthwhile - but you should still need high end runics to make 100% items. A Bronze Hammer with EX and Arms Lore bonus *can* make a Lightning 50%, HLD 50% SSI 30, DI 40 weapon. Thats too powerful from a bronze runic. I would propose the following range changes:

<u>Current Change Proposed</u>
Dull Copper 40-100%
Shadow: 45 -100%
Copper: 50-100%
Bronze: 55-100%
Gold: 60-100%
Agapite: 65-100%
Verite: 70-100%
Valorite: 85-100%

<u>Theo's Proposed Ranges</u>
Dull Copper 40-70%
Shadow: 45 -70%
Copper: 50-80%
Bronze: 55-80%
Gold: 60-90%
Agapite: 65-90%
Verite: 70-100%
Valorite: 85-100%

<u>Current Proposed</u>
Spined: 40 -100%
Horned: 45 - 100%
Barbed: 50 - 100%

<u>Theo's Proposed</u>
Spined: 40 - 80%
Horned: 45 - 90%
Barbed: 60 - 100%

This is a bit more realistic and still means you need to get high end runics to get the max intensity rolls. A spined kit can still make a 120 luck 16% LRC piece. As it is proposed a spined kit could make a 140 luck 20% lrc item. Thats over the top for a spined kit.

I do really really really like this change to make all runics worthwhile again, however, its a bit over the top. Scale it back a bit and its fair. Otherwise, you might as well just give everyone Fireball 50, HLD 50, SSI 30, DI 40 weapons in their bank boxes.

I too am curiouse about the new dragon. I'd also like to see it mountable (flying animation while mounted or running) and require 120 <u>real</u> Taming. Danced the "Death Robe Limbo" in Destard on TC1 yet haven't seen anything different.


Would like an (invincible) option or something to angry critters them from targeting me in TC.

Hi,

Im totally with you Theo.
Intensities is to high and I back you up with your proposed intensities.

I tried to show why its to high in a post when Wilki brought the changes up a few months ago.

It so little chance to get the properties you want so I would say that of the 10 best weapons that will be made in the coming weeks , at least 8 will be from Bronze-Gold hammer.

Ofcourse I will accept whats currently on TC if devs want to make sure that all people can make good weapons relatively and not maniacs that have the highest runics.

Krystal, if you are seriously worried about this super-dragon, please, please make a char on TC1 and I'll let you play with mine for however long it takes for you to get a feel for its strengths &amp; weaknesses.

It's burst damage is WELL below what's put out by a rune beetle/mare or bake kit/beetle combo and it's almost painfully slow.

You can still *easily* outrun the dragon even on foot eg dismount/tamer style (tested). You can still hang it up on houses, terrain, etc. and since it uses all five control/follower slots, it also requires that I be on foot or in ninja form.

To be perfectly honest, in pvp I think it's really only likely to be used for house hiders and taking down cu sidhes in choke points.

I'm completely serious, if you or any of the regular SP posters/players really want to, I'll let you play with my super-dragon. If you anything are like the pvpers who were willing to road test it, you will lose your fear of the thing especially now that it seems to have been adjusted to reflect our feedback.

If you want a real challenge, I'll even let you play with my pre-nerf super-dragon for contrast.

This Dragons buffed on TC1 thread is long, but it does contain the info/feedback from me, from Al Thorin and at least one of the pvpers (Winder) who helped road test it before it was tweaked. My thanks to the Devs for listening.

Yea, seriously, you would think after 5 years people would learn to adapt to necro templates. Some, Pvp'ers will cry over anything though it seems.

Necro is a skill. A support skill at that. My advice to 'em would be go make a NECRO and learn to play it, then realize all the advantages and disadvantages to that template instead of crying nerf all the time.

People have whined for years about freakin potions. Been in game forever. Go make an alchemist and use em yourself. Or buy em. Thinking is hard.

I've been hunting for pink and purple bunnies and I wonder how many hues of pink they come in and what the purple looks like. Is it EV purple?

they havent said anything about the tailor bods.
I would say that its no change for tailor bods because its incredible easy to get good bods already,compared to smith bods ofcourse.
I would say that its easier to get and fill all bods needed for a barbed kit than it is for any hammer above Bronze.

one thing i dont understand...

a necro attacks... we use apple to counter the debuffs/offense.
he is using 240 max skill points.
we can only use the apple once.

a warrior attacks... we use potions to counter the dmg/poison.
he is using 240 max skill points.
we can use potions... much faster than apples.

why is it different?


about the changes... they posted... and they delivered. beat that!

I've been to the waterfall twice, I'm currently stuck. Some of the land tiles seem raised up but I don't see a park area? Has something gone wrong?

I do not agree with you here. Yes you can make a Lightning 50%, HLD 50% SSI 30, DI 40 weapon but not from a bronze runic, you need min a gold hammer to get 4 Properties and alot of luck to get all 100%
With a Dull and Shadow, there will be Max 2 Properties so not that overpowered.

Now thing may be different on normal shards but on Siege this will help our crafters and make PvP more fun, when we do not have insurance.

Strangle was always supposed to have 12 ticks if you follow the formula they have at UO.com and corpse skin is far more overpowering than strangle imo, because corpse skin works exactly the same way as long as you can successfully cast it (100% at 60 necro, same effect as 120 necro; -15 fire, -15 poison). You have to have 105 necro for strangle to be viable in PvP (100%). I'd say that's fair. And besides apples, any good chiv dexxer can take care of a necro, plus there are talismans as well.

Doesnt DI 40% come with natural smithing and armslore.

50% lightning
50% HLD
30% SI

I nearly matched that on the bronze on test center.

BUT LET ME TELL YOU. IT was well into swing 600 or so. Just because you have the chance, the RNG is still controling you.

swing 600 on a 35 charge hammer? so that was 17 bronze runics burned, not overpowered imo, though I believe bronze is the best runic attainable from a sbod


Anyway on the other side of things, anyone check out one of the newly buffed ancient wyrms yet? And I wonder how it will effect the paragon ones (I have the feeling the only answer to para AW's will be ooOOoOoOooOoo)

I went to see the new park at the Large Waterfall above Justice. The park is nice. Not sure if I like the bridge across the waterfall, ruines the prettness of the Waterfall and I can't seem to use The bridge, I just bounce off it, Still It's worth going to go see.

The bridge should work fine on TC - on all the other servers, the server doesn't think there's a bridge there yet, so it won't let you cross :p (If anyone has problems with it on TC, let us know!)

Its not about getting "PeeKayyyed" how you call it and "risk vs reward". Its about pvp and how boring it is when you just get bola'd from your mount and munched with one bite. The attacker can then transform into an animal to run fast without useing another slot and summon the pet with his pet ball.

I'm on TC1. At a Waterfall north of Justice Shrine. I don't see any bridge at all?
Or a park
But I keep getting stuck on things, and some tiles appear to be over my head.

Am I the only one having this problem? I'm going to log and reboot and hope it fixes itself.

* Note your current fatigue - are you tired, exhausted? Do you need some furry friendship?
* Double-click your stuffy
* You'll receive a message stating you feel snuggled!
* Your fatigue will be refreshed at a certain percentage (this is based off the type of stuffy, and the rarity of the hue)
* Five minute cooldown before you can reuse it

It says I am running 6.0.5.0 (Patch 63)
Is that wrong?
I am running Windows Vista, Which I am suspecting might be the culprit
I'm going to check on the hubbies machine, since he is running XP. I'll let you know if that fixes me.

Yeah, so, which dragons are buffed and can I tell them from normal? I'd rather you buffed them all than left me needing to take a hit before I know what I'm facing.

Replying to my own post because...

It doesn't look like super-dragon was tweaked after all because I've tamed a super dragon today with 930hp after tame. If hit points are part of the firebreath damage calculation, that's really gonna smart.

Anyone wanna help me test it again?
