What I miss with the new format is the change in color we used to get when a thread was read. After jumping around a few threads now, I can't tell where I have been. Is there a way to mark a thread as read during each visit?

...

For me it goes from Bold to normal print and there's a little blue dot to the left of the thread that is there when there are unread posts and not there when the thread is read.

Unread threads have a blue dot to the immediate left of the thread title (yellow if you're using Animate). Additionally, unread thread titles are bolded. If a thread has been read, there is no blue dot and the title is not bolded.

Ah..... My problem is that all titles are always bold, and every thread has a blue dot, whether I have read it or not. Any suggestions?

Which skin are you using? Animate, Blackend, UOClassic? You'll find it on the bottom left hand corner when you page down. That might help track down if there is an issue :)

It usually only does that if you're not logged in or perhaps you aren't accepting cookies from the new address?

Thanks for the replies. I should have realized that my spam, tracking, and virus paranoia prevents me from enjoying content across the web.

There used to be a way to jump to previous/next unread thread from inside a thread. Am I blind or is this functionality no longer available?

Someone else might be more helpfull on this but I seem to recall that some browsers allow a selective acceptance of cookies. That is, one can specify to only accept cookies from a specific web site which they trust and not any other. This way, one can maintain a high security level when navigating the internet but still take advantage of handy features for those web sites which they trust by allowing cookies for those specified web sites only. I am not sure how this is set, though......

All major browsers can selectively allow cookies, it just takes a small bit of work from the user to set up, and there are also free proxy servers (such as FoxyProxy) and anonymizers if you want anonymity.

IF you really want security while surfing the internet, try any of the Linux versions for an OS and any web browser - You won't even need a virus protection program. There are many Linux distributions (distros), but Kubuntu or Linux Mint are very good places to start if you currently use windows, very easy to set up, very user friendly, and almost all programs are free. I dual boot to Windows only for games, now.

I agree with the OP. I too miss the old stratics format.

Old stratics had:

A link style for the Threads that you have never read before
Another link style for the Threads that you have read before that have new posts since your last read
Another link style for the Threads that you have read before that does not have new posts
