What new player is going to look up player skills on MyUO lol? none what a silly comment.I think the help outweighs the pvp issues on this one.
Think of how helpful it will be for new players to be able to see how people use different skills in different ways.
As I said earlier, it is less likely a pvper is going to examine all his foes skills and stats before entering the battle every day (or however often it will be updated) and far more likely that newer players, or players returning to the game will find this function EXTREMELY helpful in finding skill templates that work well together in a game that is like no other.
No, it isn't. I beg to differ. It's UO, there is no need for "clean leveling" like in other games. Actually I was wondering if it would be a good idea for skills to decay over time so you need to retrain every once in a while. I mean if you have fully trained your characters ten years ago you are missing out on some of the fun of UO. But as long as there's no need to train skills, you won't do it.i think its more funny to see how so un worked some are... 12.3 or this .9 of that.
clean that crap up its an embarrassment.
I chose the free route (opt out), & started deleting my characters. Woot, privacy maintained.I see this as a great opportunity for the game to make money through the sale of soulstone tokens for those who are paranoid that they are being stalked. Or, maybe you could rename all your characters the same, so no one knows which temp they are up against today.

No, it wouldn't be a good idea, never bring it up again. No, it isn't. I beg to differ. It's UO, there is no need for "clean leveling" like in other games. So everyone with 11.4 cooking - say "Hi" to me and I'll buy you a beer. Or a pitcher of water.
You mean "RE-INTRODUCE" skill decay as that's how it used to work.Actually I was wondering if it would be a good idea for skills to decay over time so you need to retrain every once in a while.
That would be one way, I suppose. Something about permanent solutions and temporary problems though, hmmmm.I chose the free route (opt out), & started deleting my characters. Woot, privacy maintained.
And there is a reason, several, several thousand, why it doesn't work that way anymore. You mean "RE-INTRODUCE" skill decay as that's how it used to work.
You asked for myuo back, that's what you've got. This is exactly what it showed before - it doesn't give a true reflection of your character's abilityies, none of the skill points you may have on items are shown. None of the bonuses, none of the regens.
Also remember this is incomplete, it's Beta.
This isn't your data. Do you remember that stuff you agreed to when you first started?Doesn't this go against the UK data protection laws? I don't want my data published and there for this breaks my legal rights in the UK. Maybe they never thought about international laws. If I agree for it to be pubished its fine, but there has to be an option for people to opt out
Do you mind actually explaining yourself for once?? Or are we going to continue to get 1 sentence nonsense from you?I don't think there should be any opt out on this.
How in heaven's name do you work that one out? Is your real name there? Is your address there? Is your ip address there? There is no real information at all, just game stats.Doesn't this go against the UK data protection laws? I don't want my data published and there for this breaks my legal rights in the UK. It's my opinion. My opinion isn't "nonsense," quit trolling.Do you mind actually explaining yourself for once?? Or are we going to continue to get 1 sentence nonsense from you?
An opinion without any clarification in a thread that's only purpose is to discuss the OP...It's my opinion. My opinion isn't "nonsense," quit trolling.
Seeing as how you are discriminating against PVP kind of gives me the impression that you yourself do not PVP....So, why even chime in when you seem to "not care". Bottom line I have pvm templates that I do not want to be seen and I have hybrid pvp templates I do not want to be seen. Resist is NOT the only skill to worry about. Let me give you a little lesson in Meditation. It only works in increments of 10, so if you have 55med you should either drop or raise it by 5 and those 5 skill points can make or break a template. It's not private information at all, you(the player) have no ownership in respect to any aspect of this game.
For a PvP side who cares? If you really think that showing a weakness in a temp is that big of a deal then ADD RESIST(which is the only skill that I can think of which could be exploited), and it's not like some guy in the field is quickly typing in a name to see what gives.....get real.
In a technical, legal sense you are correct. However, this is not necessarily correct if you are considering the psychological mindset of very involved players. Not having an option about this (when being given an option certainly won't hurt anything) may become a serious issue to some players. It's not private information at all, you(the player) have no ownership in respect to any aspect of this game.
Don't you have some whining personal attacks to make?An opinion without any clarification in a thread that's only purpose is to discuss the OP...
People are dying of diseases and car accidents every minute and you care about people caring about privacy issues? lol.I love that someone brought up privacy laws, lol. Nearly every government spies on it's citizens at some point whether they know it or not, listening to phone calls, looking at emails, etc. and you guys are concerned about your in game characters stats being exposed? lol.
Kinda says something about how much they "have to hide" of a real life vs how seriously they take a video gameI love that someone brought up privacy laws, lol. For the record, I personally object strongly to many things governments do these days. And whether it be government or games, I think peoples' concerns should be taken seriously.I love that someone brought up privacy laws, lol. I'm not bringing up anything about privacy laws, I am asking for MyUO to go back to how it was or add an opt-out feature.I love that someone brought up privacy laws, lol. I didn't mean you, I meant James's post from an hour ago.I'm not bringing up anything about privacy laws, I am asking for MyUO to go back to how it was or add an opt-out feature.
I don't think you understand the scope of that suggestion. For one thing, the site doesn't track or display player locationHow do you people like the layout and speed of the new MyUO?
Wouldn't it be fun to somehow build an interconnection to @Petra Fyde 's google map of Sosaria / Britannia?
With this comment and your signature I can see where our discussion is going. Since you have nothing to contribute I would assume it's best you keep you opinion's to yourself.Don't you have some whining personal attacks to make?
No one said you did. James Moriarty brought up up...I'm not bringing up anything about privacy laws, I am asking for MyUO to go back to how it was or add an opt-out feature.
From a person who made a new handle on Saturday of last week I fail to see what imput your sock puppet makes to the game. Can you please teach me something about UO that is new? 5 points in med, you are joking right?Seeing as how you are discriminating against PVP kind of gives me the impression that you yourself do not PVP....So, why even chime in when you seem to "not care".
