After using all our "lock downs" it is recomended that we move all other items to the "moving crate".

It can not be done in a classic house design. If you wish to, you will have to convert your house to a custom plot.

1.) lock down every item that you can.
2.) Use movement blocking items (stacked 2 high) to block off the main entry, or side corridors so that no one can get near other containers that are set to secure.

Are you guys freaking out over the fact, people need to release and re secure containers, left behind by the previous owner of a house?
The person who originally secures a container, can still change the access on a container, even after they are not a owner or co-owner.
This bug has been around as long as i can remember.
No need to scare the hell out of everyone, over that.
That would also explain why there has not been any word from EA, its not that big of a deal.
People just need to always re secure any containers, if they purchased a house or had someone else decorate for them.

No. That is not the issue.
Also, if you look back in time, EA does not discuss exploits until they are fixed.
I do read believe it or not, but all that post said to me initially was that it was suposedly tested and confirmed by a mod who stickied this thread. Didn't really say much since no other mention was made about testing from anyone else. Thoguh your reply was both unnecessary and innappropriate. cirno gave a much better response to my post.
There is no need to unlock and re lock
you can target and change all in one click for a while now

No offense, but since when do unsubstantiated claims warrant a sticky. If there truly IS a bug, and Mythic truly DOES know about it and is TRULY looking into it, then someone over at Mythic is dropping the ball by not making a public announcement about this and doing something that will protect its players from a massive exploit that has the potential to destroy one of the key points to playing the game.

Since it has been confirmed by members of our staff, that is substantiated enough for us to make it a sticky.
If it is not enough for you believe it, then you are entirely free to disbelieve it.
We exist to serve the community, and somewhere along the line it was decided that the community would be better served by being made aware of it than not, and so the thread was made sticky.

Right. So can we please have a clear listing of what to do to insure a person can protect themselves? And a response from the ever silent dev team who's job it is to stop this stuff.....
I don't think you can move to use that. Think it's res on the spot you died on if you use it.

Put your items on a vendor. Put a high price on a container of items. One hundred million will keep most people from buying your stuff. Don't put any money on the vendor to pay the vendor fees and in 24 hours your items will fall into the house sign. After however many hours (168, I think), your items will be in your moving crate.

Well I, for one, don't mind a stickied warning so that I can take unnecessary action, and not lose anything except a little time because of it. It saves you from that one time when nobody says JACK about an exploit and you lose all your stuff. Then you would be the one who lost stuff and everyone else is like "I think it's a big scare, and you are all full of sh**. Nobody would take your useless stuff and EA would tell us if there was a hack."
1. EA has NEVER told us about any existing hacks, because what would that make people do? They would run to a house and try everything they can think of to replicate that hack themselves, like I'm sure many of you have done.
2. Anyone WOULD take crap, regardless of how apparently useless it is. How many times have I dropped an Item ID SOT in haven to have 6 vultures rush over to grab it first? BODs last about 2 seconds. Plus, if it was an involved, time consuming hack, that would mean they would have to choose a chest wisely, because most chest are full of somewhat useful things, and some are packed with valuables. And the longer you sit in one place exploiting, the greater the odds of getting caught, so I doubt that someone would try to clean out one house entirely, or do it in a high traffic area like Luna.
Regardless, if there's and exploit that could affect me, and EA is not going to advertize it for further duplication, I damned well want to hear about it, even if it all turns out to be a scam. This one isn't, it happened to me. Fortunately, they didn't manage to steal anything but 100 or so elemental weapons that are worth anywhere from 1 mil to 10 mil EACH from me. dont know where your from, but i sell elemental weapons from 500k for a crappy one, to 10mil for a 100% with no useless mods...

Right, but apparently he either is a mage or a tamer and doesn't know that. And he felt it necessary to blurt out something in a matter that doesn't concern him, considering he doesn't use weapons, and apparently isn't concerned about the exploit... Why would someone go to a post that doesn't concern him and say insulting things about something which he knows is valuable to someone else, but useless to him, unless he were a troll?

I havent seen anyone running around with one in quite a long time (or at least so rarely that there is easily more supply than demand for them).

I don't think anyone knows, because not many people that were robbed have adequately described the circumstances. Mine is a 18 x 18 custom, 3 stories and a functional roof. The container that was hacked was on the roof in a crate sitting on my crafting table. I think it was singled out because it's not near any other crates.

As stated above - it will not explain the exploit - but it will help potential exploiters focus their efforts to learn how to.
Please do not discuss the details at all. Simply forward them through the bug reporting system.

I've never had a hard time getting elemental weapons and now it seems they are ridiculously expensive. But I guess as long as there is someone who is willing to spend the money...
Maybe I should start keeping and selling them now.
Exceptionally crafted radiant scimitars, daishos, ornate axes, double axes, bladed staves, black staves, diamond maces, kamas, and leafblades will sell for 10 mil provided that they are 100% fire or cold, and have nothing but damage increase on them. They can also have stamina leech and mana leech and still go for the same price.
Monster looted ones are not worth as much, but can still go for decent money.

I think there was a stealth update a few days ago (had to restart my client). The same day that the lost ship bug appeared. Maybe they fixed houses and broke the boats at the same time. If that is the case, maybe the two were linked =)
Or maybe the lost ship bug was intentional to distract us from the other bug while they try to fix it

If any of this nonsense were true we would have at least gotten a reply as why what seems like 3/4 of the ec players are still crashing to desktop every 20 minutes more than a month after the fact.
It would be nice to get an official response on this.. considering we ALL pay a monthly sub here and alot of us have multiple accts... I seriously don't want to have to change all my access on my places but I guess rather be safe than sorry... hoping a dev.. mesanna.. someone will reply here so we can rest assured that its been taken care of already..

Its hard to decide if its true or not...with the lack of official resonse on the matter......alas just to be safe i've banged 3 tier of crates to block the inside of my doorway....so NO access unless the crates are moved first....dosent take long to unlock em and relock em

This thread is what it is, a warning.
If you beleive him then change the status on your house, if you do not then don't change the status.
Unfortunately, most times when this happens it is someone that was a friend, that is no longer and has a lot of access that decides to leave a mark. But who knows, if it is an issue I hope it gets fixed quick.

Confirmed that the bug exists and can be duplicated?
Then my question would be, nearly one week later, where the hell is the official Mythic response to this issue?
Or did Sony buy them out recently?
When you physically catch someone inside your private house, and find access levels are changed...it is occurring. In order for me to get rid of the offending parties, I had to make my house public and physically ban them. I have not had another issue since banning these accounts using the bug.
However, what is unfortunate about all of this is that no matter how many SS a person has of the offending parties actions...they are unable to post them due to the rules of this forum.
Fair warning to anyone here reading this...the people who are using this bug are also active members of this community (one even posted in this thread). Do not post information about your items, home locations, or routine...as these people will take advantage of any information you present.
