My Loyalty is Decaying, is Yours??

Lost venerated on one character this morning and twice this week on a second. Seven of nine characters failed to preserve their loyalty today. The supposed fix doesn't work and I don't know why logging in daily makes me dependent on the moons aligning without another rendition of Mr. Murray in Groundhog Day keeps rerunning instead. Make the decay rate if we don't log in every 48+ hours if you want us to log each char every day. Also is there any point in going to venerated besides a niftier title I can't afford?

Hi Spellbound. I can see no point with going on with anything to do with City Loyalty. Once you BUY an expensive useless niftier title which you need like a hole in the head, there is no point to having loyalty unless you bought the banners for the cities and have them stuck on a building that you don't intend to keep forever and will want to move them elsewhere later at which point there may be an issue with moving them. You will be able to deed them but can't place them back in your own house after deeding them unless you have ADORED Loyalty Status on a character to that particular city to which the banner belongs.

So, after foolishly working on this loyalty thing, to keep venerated status on five characters from January to June 2012

- - I quit. Too much work for naught.

Incorrect, you only need Commended status to place.

I wasn't going to post in here again but having read your post Parnoc, I thought I would check it out on a character and I believe you are correct. They've changed something.

It was quite awhile ago since I tested a character whose loyalty was Respected (Scara) to see if she could deed the Scara Banner then put it back up on the wall and lock it down again. She could not. She could only deed the banner. Since I already had another character on the same account at Venerated status for Scara, I totally stopped working on this character.

Today, she is still 'Respected', and when I tested her, she was able to DEED the Scara Brae Banner, use the deed, target the wall, put the banner back on the wall and lock it down again.

I haven't been working on this quest so, I hope in the future they change it again so anyone can remove and lock down those banners,

What a shock...
Flutter not missing a chance to say something off-topic and negative towards the game.

It must be so hard to wander around these boards hourly feeling so mad and hurt about an MMORPG :(

I seriously feel for you.

Call this a troll or whatever you want but I am sick & tired off the few malcontents that just seem unable to dry up and blow away. How about you do less to acquire an out of game fan club and more to do something ingame? If its so bad why do you keep hanging around? You are only hurting the game and I dont care who chooses to ignore that fact.

Don't be so jealous of my really cool out of game fan club.
And you're right I am mad and hurt about what's happened (and is happening to UO). If I didn't care about the game I would just dry up and blow away like you suggest. Perhaps more people should care as much as me. :)
Have a GREAT day doing something in game Goldberg-Chessy! I hope you have lots of fun. (No sarcasm. I really do. Have a nice day)

Flutter is right on the mark.. Her comment is well in line with what is really happening in UO TODAY - with UO loyalty decaying amongst many players. Consider the Account-Migration-Nightmare and the exodus of Veterans. I am not happy about seeing so many quit UO, especially cherished friends who have supported this game since it began in Sept.1997.

This City Loyalty grind in particular is only a make-work program, to keep players busy and chained to the game, with useless banners and expenisve vanity titles for rewards? Players have descibed this as being a gold-sink. A real UO reward is where a quest requires hard work, deep thought, and results in feelings of satistaction at achieving and reaching goals. :sad4: Hmmm.. this has been explained before in many, many different ways, by many different posters in many different threads - -

Goldberg-Chessy - did you only read the first few posts before posting? - - you read none of the others?
