I hope they do nothing. Halloween has turned into a corporate money-making machine. the best thing to do is boycott it and be happy it's gone on November 1st.
*Shrug* I love Halloween. I think its fun. And I don't think it's any more of a money making machine that any other holiday.
Sadly, I don't expect any more UO Halloween stuffs.

Christmas is even worse.
both holidays ostracize people and make them feel uncomfortable for the benefit of others. it's a sad and pathetic part of our culture.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, Halloween is a great day for them. They wont stand out during that day. That must be when they start massing for our destruction.
You are probably right, although you chose to be both rude and lump all UO players into one 'culture'.

in my opinion halloween is by far the most fun time of year in uo due to the awsome activities they have giving us at that time the last several years.We've gotten conjerer's trinkets/spellbooks/garbs and those life/power/death cloaks and more.The skele lichs were a blast as were the various quests of the past few years. I saw more active people durring those times than at any other time of the year.I feel so far they have really let us down this year comparatively and really missing the boat on getting more people active like halloween usually does.Lets face it if u are taking a break but then hear of an awsome in game event cool enough to come back for then u are likely to stick around awhile even after event over cuz they managed to suck u back in...Cmon UO Suck people back in rather than just sucking!

i ask both chessy EM's last night if we were getting any other events or anything for halloween ...my reply was the pumkins are you halloween event....so there ya go. we are having an em event for halloween but the fact that were not having more shard wide events is just friggin sad. Mesanna is suposta be in charge of things like that, Grimm Omen went out of his way to make sure we had something....cause if not i guess we would have dont nothing for halloween. Mesanna seems to only want to to pop up events now just tho throw more items in game with her name stamped on them. run some stuff that covers all shards...turn on invasions, turn on the quests, turn on something. I hate having EM's it makes EA's UO to much like these player run shards where you have to kiss the shard owners a$$ in order to get anything done. well i for one am not the kind of person to have to wipe the brown off my nose....i say either Mesanna needs to start doing something in this game other than tagging random items with her name, or she needs to step down and give that position to someone who can do better " cause im sure there are allot of people out there who can"....or just do away with the whole EM system. that way the Devs dont rely on them to do holiday events. i know ima get so much hate mail over this, but guess what people i dont really care so save it

)Maybe Mesanna does, maybe she doesn't... I will say, I think she's been the best on the UO team since they fired Draconi and Chrissy which I still think was a terrible decision.UO is getting that boring that people expends more time in the boards that playing the Game, I guess.

I'm just putting it out there, but was Draconi's tenure really that good? He was game designer and acting producer, and during that period p(l)ayer subs dropped say 30k, although not as drastically %-wise as with Cal's tenure. Again I'm just floating this idea, but senior management gives them 2 years and if p(l)ayer subs drop, its goodbye.
Back on topic, but if the pumpkims is all there is, maybe they should re-enable a previous halloween event.

Agree, but not for the same reason. I just hate it because the EM events can often come in the place of a static event, and if you miss that day because of work, or something else real life wise, then you just miss out.
With static events everyone who wants to can get involved and have a good time. Sadly this years Halloween static events were a little shallow, albeit nicely done.
Yes think about it. What is better for the game? EM events that only 500 a year will participate in, or more DEV events instead that all 30,000 p(l)ayers will get involved in?

I agree w/ tigger. For example, Ghost pirate ships it wouldnt take much to make the sails beat up looking and have holes in them, the ghost ships could look like stage one damage, replace the crew w/ lets say sketon lichs or sketal knights or anything thing that is undead and already in game and The Grim Reaper (in past events) as the capton. Its not that difficult to do this and would give us a reason to buy the out rageous priced salt peter.
Be happy if your shard ran a EM Event for halloween...i know some shards made more of an effort than others ...running the same event a few times so everyone got chance depending on the time of day they play...but at least most shards go a nice extra ingame event of some kind which is Nice!!!......

I also would have liked a bit more to the static event. With a 2 year old daughter it's rare I get even an hour to play all at once and it certainly isn't very predictable and definitely not at the common server times. If I could go play 15 or 30 minutes and have a chance at something cool then I would.
I did pick up a few masks this year but not much else. Shard of the dead is popular and all but seems more like for pvp players which I never was. But maybe I should try it next year.

Though I think the EM events are still great. I wish I could get to them more often. I just don't want all cool holiday events to be only those run by the EMs.

I don't know for certain, but what if maybe Mesanna was so busy helping to set up/run the Shard of the Dead in her own spare time that she didn't have much time left over to schmooze with the whiny stratics posters for whom nothing is ever apparently enough.

It's not as if Halloween snuck up on her....We have had major events every year for a long time now that almost everyone looks forward to. So....yeah...there are some disappointed players out there.
Player base has to deal with no event.....they (Mesanna and Devs) can deal with some complaints.
