Transition. Flux. Mutable. I just wish I could get it through their thick skulls that Siege is the last great playground UO has to offer.
In my rant, I forgot to play the game... mmmmm let's see what would be my answer...This shard is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _...

This shard is: Special.
What was wrong with the Grand Prix? Any time there is rain, especially at Monaco, it is invariably good.
And Hamilton won to boot....

Do you get your race through "Speed"?Well, I won't start an argument about the Hamilton/Alonso episode. We obviously have totally different views.
But I do think you are being completely unfair about the commentators. Yes, of course they talk up the British guys because largely they are broadcasting to a British audience. But otherwise they are very fair-minded and don't disparage the other drivers at all. And they both agreed that their driver of the day was Adrian Sutil of Germany.
Now, Spaniards have written in to the motorsport press saying that their commentators are just totally focused on Alonso and nobody else whatsoever, even willing the other drivers to crash and so forth.
Hmm, sorry, I assumed you were referring to the regular UK broadcast which has James Allen and Martin Brundle as commentators.Do you get your race through "Speed"?
Oh and btw... I like to argue if you just don't start calling names like so many on this shard...
Siege is tough
I agree with much of what you said and it will be interesting to watch this drama of Alonso's future.... He has a talent of communicating with his engineers/techs the car setups for each race/condition... That makes him very valuable... something Hamilton is still learning and I think probably aided him last year having Alonso close. Not sure he is finished with Ferrari... That will be the most interesting part to watch...Hmm, sorry, I assumed you were referring to the regular UK broadcast which has James Allen and Martin Brundle as commentators.
And okay...
I think Alonso was his own worse enemy last year. He came into a team which always treats its drivers equally, even to its own disadvantage sometimes. Hamilton was more familiar with the team because he had been bankrolled by them for a number of years in junior formulae and would almost certainly have been favoured by many of the rank-and-file, but I do not believe that he got any special treatment.
Alonso had history in Renault of not enjoying it when his team-mate got the better of him, which was not often there. Coming into McLaren though he found that he was dealing with someone who was not only a rookie, but was at least his equal in terms of ability and was able to outpace him quite often, and he could not handle that. He should have just buckled down and relied on his far greater experience to try and win through, but he didn't and wanted the preferential treatment for himself and when he didn't get it his relationship with the team completely disintegrated.
Hamilton is not perfect and certainly was not without fault, but like most top sportsmen he was driven by a belief in himself and his own abilities.
As for Alonso, I used to have great respect for him but that has largely gone now and he has also lost much of it within the paddock. He is obviously finished with McLaren and Ferrari, who he had been hoping for a seat with, have indicated they have no interest in signing him. So his petulance last year may find him unable to gain a seat in one of the absolute top teams despite his undoubted abilities.
Siege is egeis spelled backwards.
