Transition. Flux. Mutable. I just wish I could get it through their thick skulls that Siege is the last great playground UO has to offer.

You are almost right Kelmo... Siege is the last great playground of any online game and people are too ignorant to understand the thrill of having the freedom to play good vs bad.. Setting up game mechanics to "protect" us from having to figure out for ourselves ways of countering, has ruined the true gamer's fun... We are not where the money is.. That belongs to the mass of spoiled cry babies...

Thus we get ignore into extention. Damn it..

What was wrong with the Grand Prix? Any time there is rain, especially at Monaco, it is invariably good.

And Hamilton won to boot....

My new home in UO. And it seems to have been the best kept secret in UO that it is so much more here than we are led to believe.

:thumbup1:

Enjoyed qualifying and everything (rain without tc on the narrow streets of Monaco) except the last part..,which was a great disappointment for me...Still pissed.

I have to listen to English announcers plugging their bias while downplaying the others ... all except one being fair in his words to counter ... actually they seem to be a little better this year but not by much... and there is just something that rubs me the wrong way when a rookie is put in one of the fastest cars out there and given preference over a world champion on his own team.. Hamilton might be good, but they screwed up my interest by the way they handled him... I'll always be against him now.. I don't like him ... he is too full of himself... I would love to see bad luck happen to him like someone take out his front wings hahahaha.

BTW Hoffs.....:p

Siege is *waiting*

Well, I won't start an argument about the Hamilton/Alonso episode. We obviously have totally different views.

But I do think you are being completely unfair about the commentators. Yes, of course they talk up the British guys because largely they are broadcasting to a British audience. But otherwise they are very fair-minded and don't disparage the other drivers at all. And they both agreed that their driver of the day was Adrian Sutil of Germany.

Now, Spaniards have written in to the motorsport press saying that their commentators are just totally focused on Alonso and nobody else whatsoever, even willing the other drivers to crash and so forth.

Do you get your race through "Speed"?

Oh and btw... I like to argue if you just don't start calling names like so many on this shard...

Hmm, sorry, I assumed you were referring to the regular UK broadcast which has James Allen and Martin Brundle as commentators.

And okay...

I think Alonso was his own worse enemy last year. He came into a team which always treats its drivers equally, even to its own disadvantage sometimes. Hamilton was more familiar with the team because he had been bankrolled by them for a number of years in junior formulae and would almost certainly have been favoured by many of the rank-and-file, but I do not believe that he got any special treatment.

Alonso had history in Renault of not enjoying it when his team-mate got the better of him, which was not often there. Coming into McLaren though he found that he was dealing with someone who was not only a rookie, but was at least his equal in terms of ability and was able to outpace him quite often, and he could not handle that. He should have just buckled down and relied on his far greater experience to try and win through, but he didn't and wanted the preferential treatment for himself and when he didn't get it his relationship with the team completely disintegrated.

Hamilton is not perfect and certainly was not without fault, but like most top sportsmen he was driven by a belief in himself and his own abilities.

As for Alonso, I used to have great respect for him but that has largely gone now and he has also lost much of it within the paddock. He is obviously finished with McLaren and Ferrari, who he had been hoping for a seat with, have indicated they have no interest in signing him. So his petulance last year may find him unable to gain a seat in one of the absolute top teams despite his undoubted abilities.

I agree with much of what you said and it will be interesting to watch this drama of Alonso's future.... He has a talent of communicating with his engineers/techs the car setups for each race/condition... That makes him very valuable... something Hamilton is still learning and I think probably aided him last year having Alonso close. Not sure he is finished with Ferrari... That will be the most interesting part to watch...

I was so pulling for Massa in that race and I'm still upset he didn't hold pole but I'm in total agreement that it was a fantastic race... Was planning on going to Brazil final race... but some things came up so it will be a last minute decision if I do make it.

Siege is the Monaco Grand Prix of UO
