Can we come together as a community? I know it has been a while but wth lets do it for old times sake? Who is with me?
Was not aware they had to be locked down. I don't really have an issue with them if that is the fact.If they have to be locked down, I don't see the problem.
The person's (presumably) safe in the house anyway.
Wouldn't be first on my list of must-haves, but I'm not seeing any source of outrage. Without knowing more about them, I could be wrong though.
For other shards, it may be fine, but I feel it may provide a little too much safety for the lands of Siege Perilous. We need players out and about, not hopping private moongates from here to there in complete safety. It just doesn't seem to fall in line with the spirit of Siege PERILOUS.X, I dont understand why you have a problem with them. It seems to me that all it does is provide a perma gate from inside one house to another, How will that effect anyone in a bad way?
I for one think is is cool as I do not have magery on all of my chars!!
I might be missing something here as we only have some information but as I read it look cool and I hope Siege gets it.
That may change if I'm all wrong about how they work.
QFT. Passive detect would fix so many of this shards problems. The guilds are finally pretty even in numbers.We also need passive detect and to change it back to where you have to count your steps while stealthing...
Thats the thing that amuses me about this shard... People say it does not belong on Siege only if it does not benefit them... Because you guys should be saying the same thing about the combination of Hide/stealth/smokebombs etc... But you dont because you all play that type of character... Just my 0.02 cents...
I would prefer they require tactics. Simply because bola's are something you would expect to see a warrior use, and it still allows a template to use them without restricting too much.Also... Bolas should require the new skill of Throwing... Thats all anyone does anymore including my self.

The "crystal portal", is unknown in year, and takes you to the bank or moongate of your choice by saying "Occlo Mint" or "Yew Moongate" etc.X, I dont understand why you have a problem with them. I think pvp took a sharp downturn the day any form of dismounting came into play. It has obviously takena serious downturn since stealth was changed from the step count and having to wait 7-8 secs after hiding to use the skill.Also... The house teleporter could be awesome for someone with 2 accounts. Put one house out in the boondocks, and one house near a gate someplace, and you could get to both your houses with little trouble with no magery.
*cough* Faction Runes *cough*so i am out in the land and pks attack me and all i have to do is press an escape macro and say the magic words "theres no place like home" and poof I am home free and clear.
also saves me the danger of going out of dungeons and scary places (with red ppl)

The Crystal Portal has security access settings, like a secure container, so I'm guessing, though I haven't yet seen it written, they only work when locked down in a house.
From what I gather, the portals are a one way pass to a gate or bank of your choice, from the security of your home. It is no different than casting recall, and they cannot be used to go back home ( I may be wrong on this part ). It is basically just a fancy bag of sending that allows you to save 3 regs. Yes...it would be devestating if a stealther sees someone at a bank in unguarded town, gets on guild chat or vent, and tells entire guild to meet there to attack.Perhaps... I can imagine several scenarios of misuse and mayhem. Until I have a little more info though... I will wait and see.

That seems to be the case. I don't see an issue with this, it's no different than a gate spell, that can't be used to return. Still don't see a huge issue here, 2 mages and you'll move an entire guild as well without much issue and you can gate right next to steps/etc technically 'in the house' so to speak. Granted you can't block the teleporters, but I don't know. Not really seeing a huge issue with either of these things, but would give a 'go ahead to the gate/bank portal and 'meh, on the fence' to the house tele's.The teleporters from house to house is more of a "against the spirit of Siege" issue, as the persons never have to leave the safety of their houses, and can move from private house to private house... if standard access rules apply, you can move entire guilds across vast distances in safety, and very quickly to start an assault... or just to have a guild meeting... again... not much of an issue, unless you're the type who blockades peoples house steps and waits for them to gate home! *evil grin*

These don't prevent people from roaming about, not finding people on Siege is about recruiting/retention not because I don't need to have magery to gate to a bank or a moongate to then hoof it to my final destination.Everyone complains that you can never find/see anyone about on Siege. By taking away reasons for people to roam about, all you do is make that issue even worse.
I miss brit forge on AtlanticThink of the repair deeds. They totally made it easier for me to repair my bow/armour/weapon/etc. But what else did they do? They utterly destroyed the blacksmith community that used to hang out by Brit forge on most shards.
