I'm new to this game and would like to know, what kind of armor can a mage without hindering spell casting ability?
Studded leather will hinder mana regeneration. Leather, leaf (elf) and cloth (gargoyle) in addition to any armor with the "mage armor" property will not.So, leather armour or 'mage armor property' armor does not hinder your mana regeneration? What about studded leather?
Spell casting ability and mana regeneration are different things. So, leather armour or 'mage armor property' armor does not hinder your mana regeneration? What about studded leather?
This is, as far as I know, not right.no armor hinders mana regeneration contrary to a rumor that's been going around. the only reason one needs 'mage armor' is to actively use meditation. even passive usage is unaffected by non-mage armor.
I'm pretty sure that it's only passive meditation derived from the meditation skill. Someone with no med skill (including any from JOAT) would not notice a difference in their passive regeneration rate but someone with any skill invested in meditation would. So, for a mage (who most likely has some meditation) medable armor would be a good idea.As far as I know, "passive" Meditation is interfered with by non-meddable armor.
this is not true, putting on a piece of non med armor, such as a plate or studded armor without the mage armor property makes it so your base mana regen from meditation is dropped to 0..no armor hinders mana regeneration contrary to a rumor that's been going around. the only reason one needs 'mage armor' is to actively use meditation. even passive usage is unaffected by non-mage armor.
