aside from the massive grind it is very fun but UOs pvp back in the day was still the best i remember.
That's my number one problem with most new games today, yay for the leveling treadmill. I also think for the most part nothing is going to compare to the hey day of UO. Everyone to some degree is looking for it, but it doesn't and most likely will not ever exist again.
UO is still the most immersive MMOG out there. Unlike WoW, you don't have to PvM to be a crafter, you can just craft. You also aren't 'locked' into templates which I've really grown to despise with my Yo-yo'ing from various games and always back to UO. Granted there are certain 'templates' within UO, but some of the stuff I've ran in the day [and to a lesser degree, these days] is what makes UO great.
I've always thought the isometric view was awesome, if they had taken the time and made UO-3D to look more like Neverwinter nights with really solid graphics, I would have been awesome, but these days it's just too little, too late and whether we want to admit it or not, it's a sinking ship. I'm personally planning on helping pail to keep it afloat the longest and then going down with the ship once it's time. I hope when that time goes they do something along the lines of the Beta where they just turn on all the crazy ass spawn all over Brit and have the 'world go mad,' so to speak.
Anyways, I've rambled enough, hope you're enjoying DF and we'll see you back here once you get sick of the grind...
