i came back after a pause of 2,5month, and in the first week, i could catch 9 player that used exploited 400 stones quiver.

one of them did id more then 1 time, so he was not seen 3 days online

(is it not stupid from a player to risk an acc.mark for such a stupid 400stone quiver)

and a message to exploiter: BEWARE, also ure backpack get searched for storage exploited quiver, so u are NOT on the safe side of life

I think if people would help clean up scripters and cheats instead of cryng, more might get done. Page on people who arnt there. Turn in script miners names. If their not there turn them in.

Speed hacks I herd and have tested with a friend really dont make you fasterthan the base speed. You can only go so fast... Once ur max u cant go faster.

One prob is that some newbs get owned by Vets and then page and there not even running anything...... Dont be a sore looser.. Get DSL

i can say i have 3 different computer,a very good one, a middle good one and a old laptop,and there is a difference , but some game settings helps .
for example, turn off show all names, and also set the durability of speech on screen down to 1 sec, these to steps help my laptop a lot ,and also sometimes maybe it helps if u turn off sound (turn off music and footsteps anyway)

and i think many player have the feeling that the speed of other can´t be normal because they have no comparison ( have 1 computer )

so, that doesn`t mean there is no speedhackin, because u can also see, player wich run faster on foot then other on pets, or almost get around corner like 90° maneuver, or u think they jump over the screen

See, heres your problem. You are talking about two entirely different things in your post. Not quite sure if people do this on purpose to push their own agenda or if they just dont get it but...

Catching cheaters - First part
Stopping cheaters - Second part

They are different and need to be addressed in different ways. Actaully , if you stop or severly hinder their ability to cheat, there becomes little need to catch.

Catching cheaters , kind of a grey area here. While I agree it might involve some client side progs they still can do some basic statiscitc stuff on the back end. Lets face it, if they trace a player location (server side) and see that he has been recalling between the same 20 spots for the past 4 (24/7) days straight its pretty safe to assume at that point that someone needs to watch that account. Simple right? Yea, its that simple. Why wont they? See next paragraph.

EA/Mythic has had a way to stop the cheaters for a LONG time. Its a basic implementation and while I have not seen the code , the seeds of the answer happen just about every client patch. In my years of having some contacts who have worked at EA on UO I have had confirmation of this. It all about the money and sub numbers guys. At this point either accept it or find another game.

We may get wind of some other bannings in the future, but they will never , ever implement "the fix".

Yep, i too know a few former GMs, and they have said that EA can detect cheat programs/hacks, and have a program to do so.

Personally, i'd like to see Lightning Storms go off at Yew Gate and the Champ Areas. You know, when a GM sends someone to jail or bans them, they get hit with Lightning. There's no doubt that if they had a GM stationed at PvP Hotspots, it would be like watching all the Lightning at the Blackrock Detector Machine just before the Event.

that is defenetly NOT true.
i know for sure, because i helped to find them, of 7 people who get banned for:

-scriptlooting in doom
-scripthealing
-scriptmining and lumber
-unattend skilling
-script stealing doom/tokuno

i helped a lot to make stealing in doom and tokuno, almost free from scripter

i dont know how many got banned at all from my help, but i know definetly 7 people who are gone for ever.
and 1 i am very proud of that, there was a "so called" vet-player from day one,
he was a "bigmouth", so i thought i have to investigate a litle time, and after 5-6 month he disapeard from while hidden scripting in doom, and i have never seen him again.

Doom and dojo have never even been remotely close to begin almost scripter free on drachenfels. All the cheaters did was change forms in which they camp with. You are clueless to doom and dojo and don't be posting its almost script free when You even stated Yourself you hardly go there anymore.

2. i see u are a member since 04, then u should know how the situation was back in 04-06, at this time, ONLY 2 or 3 different criminals stole the major arties, again and again.
at this time we was 3 player who helped a lot.(GM comes often in 2 min if we call them)and then there was a time, truely other thiefs could steal what they bevore never have seen, or the scripter was to fast.

and for the situation now, i would say, it is ure failure if u let grow up again what we burnt.

1. call gm (they listen even if u get canned responses,for sure)
2. ignore vendors wich u think thats scripter vendors
3. if u think some one script dont play with him in a team/party/guild
4. be active,maybe once in a week, with a character no one know, investigate
and over time u see who is scripting or duping or what else
we have so many things we CAN do

What You want a cookie? I mean geez a guy had a quiver with 400 stones. That should place him/her on the most wanted list. GM's don't bother with the real cheaters but get a person with a 400 stone quiver they will respond to. I am not saying the person was right to have that 400 stone quiver but thats about par for the GM's to respond to some item that just allows someone to hold 400 stones of arrows but yet when cheating is going on from server up to server down by same players 24/7 its perfectly alright.

god another ignorant statement which I have to correct: speedhacking in todays UO means they literally skip screens, you can have the best connection and still not keep up with the speedhackers, I ping 20-25, and if god himself came down and gave me a better connection legally, I still wouldnt catch them.
